A recording of a beautiful rufous-sided towhee made in very early spring in a brushy area near a small lake. Record with my zoom, h4n recorder and utilizing its very good built-in stereo microphones.

This is a larger stream in the shawnee national forest. At this particular point on the stream had a large log over which the water was flowing gently. . . . Not as much gurgling and popping sounds, just a nice smooth, flowing sound.

A wonderful soundscape recorded in april in beautiful woods in southern illinois. You will hear a variety of birds, wrens, tufted titmice, a cerulean warbler and a louisiana waterthrush. Recorded with the zoom h4n recorder and my trusty rode nt-2 microphone.

A nice spring soundscape of birds in deep woods. I set my recorder on a sand-bar in the middle of a nice-sized creek, turned on the internal mics on my zoom h4n and just let nature do the talking. Recorded around 11 in the morning on a cloudy 71 degree day.

An interesting recording of birds, led by blue jays, doing their alarm calls. I was in the middle of the woods when i noticed that the birds seemed to be alarmed like there was a predator nearby and sure enough, i finally spotted a big barred owl sitting high in a tree about 50 yards from my recorder. Pretty amazing how the bird community sounds the alarm.

A recording of strong spring wind gusts through a stand of mature, tall white pines in a midwest forest. I used my handy zoom h4n recorder, and i used my rode nt2 shotgun microphone, cable-tied to a sapling. No kidding, i forgot my sturdy tripod, so i improvised using some bungee cords that i carry with me, tied the shotgun to a sapling and this is what i recorded.

I was fortunate though to both see and hear this guy as he was perched in a tree at the edge of a heavy forest. A recording made around 5 am in early april. . . . The peaceful but yet exhilirating ambience of spring birds and crickets. There is an ocassional cricket who sounds like he literally must have been sitting point-blank in front of my microphone - a great surprise, you can literally hear his wings stridulating. Recorded using the handy zoom h4n and the built-in stereo mics.

24/48 recording of the fire department rescue area near sabino canyon arizona at night. There are some native birds heard chirping along with a cricket and other bugs that start clicking. There is a light breeze that barely rustles the bushes and there is distant traffic noise.
