This is a short clip from an intense thunderstorm, recorded from my second story queens apartment from an open bathroom window during the early afternoon of july 15, 2015. Some traffic and airplanes can be heard in the background. This clip was recorded using an apple iphone 6 and the zoom iq6 x/y stereo microphone with a rode dead kitten windscreen at low volume, normalized later. This recording lasts until the battery on my iphone hit 5%, at which point the zoom handy recorder app automatically stopped.

Automated/computer controlled plasma cutting torch. Re-processed from open source wikipedia video courtesy of metaveld wijchen bv. Noise reduced, dynamics compressed and high/low frequencies resynthesized. I'm not that big a stickler about receiving credit for the use of my sounds on freesound. As a courtesy, i appreciate it but i do ask people to always credit freesound. Org and if their project ever sees any kind of profit to please consider making a donation to the website. It's a great resource and deserves our support. Good luck with your project.

Interesting (but painful) sounds made with a zoom h2 (front mics, low gain) connected to a laptop via usb. The signal was piped to old creative sbs250 spekers with 16ms of latency (i'm using jack audio connection kit and linux). That's how my feedback loop came into existance. I turned up the volume and started to move the mics around, geting a lot of different sounds ranginf from simple tones to strange lfoish sounds. The sound touches 0db one times, but is rather undistorted (at least digitally). Recorded with audacity @ 48khz/16-bit and saved as flac.

This was recorded while sitting in a closet during a tornado warning as a thunder-storm raged outside the house. It was recorded on april 28, 2020 in tulsa, oklahoma. There are several very low frequency booms from the deep thunder. You can hear the faint sound of tornado sirens blaring outside. There is also the intermittent sound of panicked breathing by one of the two dogs that were also riding out the storm, sheltered in the closet. A thunderbolt rattles some wood hangers on the hanger rod.

I was looking for the sound of a hot engine clicking and found just one with lots of background noises. So i decided to build it from scratch in bitwig studio and this is it. The sound starts with fast clicking slowing down. It's not perfect, you can still hear it's made from samples. But as the sound is normally used at low volume, i think i can get away with it. Feel free to add a gate and shape it even further. I may upload an updated version later.

This audio is not a sound effect itself, however it can be used with an impulse response plugin to recreate the acoustics of a particular environment. This particular file is designed to replicate the acoustics of distant muffled club or rave. This was done using the "profiler stereo lsp plugin" and placing the microphones on the opposite corner of the speaker in a highly reverberous house forcing the audio to reverberate around a corner. After this, a low frequency boost was applied in post along with other general cleanup of the audio.

This is a very clean recording (no voices or words that can be made out) of a 737 in flight from inside the passenger cabin. We were seated directly behind the wing. It's just a great recording of what the sound level actually is inside a 737 at altitude. It's a surprisingly low rumble and a true white noise. Enjoy!. - christopher c. Courter.

A peculiar local brand of fruit juice sold in small plastic bags with a straw will sometimes vibrate violently when sipped, producing this deep groaning sound. I've yet to discover what exactly causes this to happen. When trying to record it i experimented with straw positioning, sipping strength, holding angle of the pack, and couldn't get it to consistently rumble. This may be a marketing conspiracy to get audio people to stock up on juice to master how to perform the packaging. Recorded with sony pcm-d100, edited and denoised in izotope rx 7.

I tried and tried and tried to find a genuine audio recording of a sandstorm, but all i could find were synthetic mixes. What genuine audio i did find always had some other noise or voice polluting the audio. So, i found a couple of great wind audio recordings, some wind rustling a dry corn field, and some low earth rumbling and combined all of that to create the closet approximation i could to the authentic sandstorm audio i was able to find but couldn't use. I hope others find this audio useful in any of your projects. Feel free to use with no worries.

Here's a recording of a small campfire in the forest at night made in saint-urbain (charlevoix) pq, canada in a night of august 2014. You can hear wind in the leaves and crickets in the background. It was made with a sound devices usbpre2 into a tascam dr-680 (spdif) and 2 microphones studio project c1 in ortf stereo pattern. A little correction was made in equalization of the sample and the volume was augmented w limiter. It's in 24 bits 96khz , 40hz low cut.

I accidentally recorded this sequence when i left my camcorder on while filming some drawing tutorials. My warehouse style studio is in the inner city at street level opening onto a street closure/park so you will hear some faint bird tweeting in the background. Near the beginning and end there is the sound of a large industrial sliding door and the loud clanging is a drop bolt on an external metal security grill gate. Wind blown chimes add to the scene. I only applied a very low level audio clean-up using adobe soundbooth cs3 to reduce hiss.

A recording of a shower door, i used this sound through izotope iris 2 to produce a low, slow bassy kick sound, for a pretty ambient piece i did. I don't know why i became fascinated with the shower door. Bathroom time can be surprisingly pensive, so perhaps the sound of the door shunting shut became associated with that introspective space for me. Yes, i am aware that this the second bathroom sound i have shared. This may take on a certain significance given the fact that i have only shared a handful of recordings, but i encourage you not to read too deeply in to this fact.

Used in a mix where someone gets hit in the head with a wooden stick. A very versatile sound. There's a bit of low-end resonance in the end of the hits. This sound is licensed under creative commons 0, meaning you can use it in any work, for free, forever! however, i request that if you do use it in your project, you leave a comment below sharing what you used it for. I needed a very specific brand of lollipop with a chocolatey center for a short film i'm working on. None of my library crunch fx sounded right, so i chomped into one myself. Just call me mr. Owl. Recorded on an iphone, about an inch from my face. Just a single crunch edited to have a little extra tail. The effect came out as a satisfying crunch with decent low-mid range. Could be pitched down a bit to act as bones, or maybe a small to medium sized tree branch. I may record more of these after i visit the dentist next.

The sound of the bottom of a ceramic mug, dragged over the metal grating of a coffee machine. It sounds like a sword drawn from a scabbard. Recorded using a zoom h6 in the kitchen. Applied a filter to remove unwanted low and very high frequencies. Also corrected the volume level to adjust all four recordings to the exact same level. There are some minor distracting noises - i assume from my shirt while moving the mug over the surface. Also a fan is very faintly audible in the background. If you are interested in a very clean recording of this sound, please let me know.

Made this recording to share with the community. Please feel free to use it however you wish. No credit needed. Recorded what i was hearing outside my bedroom window. It's a combination of various sounds for about 33 minutes. I did normalize the track a little bit and added a low shelving eq filter. If you want the raw audio file to do your own clean up. . . Message me. There are mic bumps and movements that you'll need to take out or edit out. I hope it's may be useful for your project. A hot summers day in the deep swedish forest. Recorded with zoom h5 with two dpa 4060 mounted in a ab stereo fashion. Birds chatting and bugs flying by is major elements in this field recording. Decided not to remove to much of the bugs in post because i felt it might suck out the soul of the recording. In post: in pro tools i removed some low rumble, and and trimmed the highs just a little bit. Added a "pro expander" to lower some noise, both generated by the h5 and the location. Hope you like it.

Https://twitter. Com/klj54282021/status/1633974045862404097?s=20. Laughter. I guess. Check it. Turn the sound on. Typically low-quality because it has to be. It's worth it. I've never seen anyone really lose it like this before, particularly, this guy. An hour or so later he's settled down, but still has occasional outbursts. He says joe biden could never play bongos like that to save his life, much less sing. Donald trump is actually a much better dancer. I think if they had the fortitude to actually do this, they could feed the world's hungry with the profits. I don't see how they could pull it off.

A sputtery drum beat. The bass is from freesound, the snare is from a small chop of my fist hitting an oil drum, and the small breath that acts as percussion is from a children's toy. The hi-hats are from vinyl crackles and mistakes in other recordings, made to sound like the crackles themselves are making the music. 88 beats per minute. Used this in my song tai chi, chai tea: https://soundcloud. Com/user-32192831-668958257/tai-chi-chai-tea.

Snippets from recordings of me playing the tanpura. The strings are tuned to b, d, g and e, so would work well in the keys of g or e minor. I noticed that my first pack of tanpura samples has a bit of fuzzy white noise so in this pack i have equalized - i reduced all the very high frequencies which got rid of most of the white noise without affecting the low frequency sounds of the tanpura itself. Please note this is the tanpura part of an instrument called the swar sangam which combines the swarmandal (indian harp) and the tanpura, it is not a traditional tanpura and does sound slightly different.

A very peaceful, melancholy soundscape i recorded on labor day weekend in some woods, about 20 feet from a popular lake in the midwest. There was a small cove in between my setup and several campers across the way. . . They undoubtedly were enjoying one last time with nature starting to change from summer to autumn. The main sound is that of insects, not sure what the species is, but, they have a beautiful, drowsy "tick-tick-tick" sound that repeats. . . To me, this sound signals the very subtle, almost imperceptible march towards the autumn equinox. I swear, the longer you listen to this captivating insect, you're drawn into, almost like a hypnosis state of reflection. . . A couple things to listen for:(1) around 1:13 a very low splash. (2) at 1:38 a lone goose honks. (3) starting at 2:30 some very low volume, muted camper conversations. (4) at 2:36 a louder splash. (5) 2:41 more beautiful, un-hurried muted camper conversations. No doubt talking about how they need to break camp and return to the real world, but the "tick-tick-tick" of the insects have a strong hold on them. No, stay a little while longer; have another cup of coffee, talk about your accomplishments over the past summer,. This was recorded around 10am on sunday morning, september 6th, 2020 in illinois. Mixpre-6 audio recorder and the sennheiser mkh 416 microphone. Enjoy this audio snap-shot of the natural world winding down summer!.

I was surprised this still worked. This is an old ibm selectric ii typewriter, with correcting tape, the “quieter” selectric at the time. It’s about 80 pounds, a real back-breaker. The carriage return bell is broken, unfortunately, so the best you might hear it is rattling due to the belt vibration. Recorded with a tascam dr-05, without the low-cut since i wanted a beefy sound. Placed direcly above the roller, about 12 inches away. I swapped the channels in audacity to match perception & sampled down to 48khz. Description: i roll in some paper, type a few paragraphs from some copy, and roll it out when i’m done. Man, can you type fast on these machines!.

Fireworks- recording fireworks is really strange. There are two distinct things going on with fireworks- the sound of the explosion, and the powerful physical impact our bodies feel when all that sound energy reaches us. Thing is, the mics don’t have any way of capturing that physical impact; they can only record the pop sound of the initial explosion. So what ends up on tape? honestly, it doesn’t sound much different than popping popcorn in your kitchen. Even with my good mics, i think i had to boost the low end a little bit in this recording to make it actually sound more like fireworks than popcorn. But judge for yourself. A nearby moo. Taken from a field recording (quite literally) i made of the cows mooing in the field next to our house in pembrokeshire, wales. Recorded tuesday 14 april 2020 (while in lockdown during the coronavirus pandemic) on a zoom q2n. Note, incidentally, that "zoom" spelt backwards is "mooz". Spooky, eh?. I hope that someone out there finds these moos to be just the thing they need. I recorded them for my own music project about ufos, but figured someone else might need a moo or two too! if you use these, please let us know in the comments. Lazer sound. I made this lazer sound with the use of operator in ableton as well as adding a few effects to help round it out. I started with a basic sine wave and then began to adjust the frequency range to cut out some of the low end of the sound and enhance the high end to make it more realistic and movie accurate. I also had to shorten the decay time so it is more of a short zap sound than a prolonged note. Another step was giving it an initial high pitched sound and this was achieved by having the sound start higher up the scale with semitones and then dropping down giving the effect of shooting and something traveling from the source sound.

Sparrows flying from branch to branch in a bare rose bush. Unintentional capture of sound as i was just out walking testing new equipment. There is no processing to this recording other than to ‘normalize’ the levels. I do not require any credit or attribution. I may have mentioned that his speaking voice wasn't always low. In this capture he's completely excited and happy and this is probably, his real voice. This went on for a while, but there was a lot of profanity and laughter and we don't wanna be disrespectful. Ha. I don't, anyway. I don't think he liked her much. A former boss, he said, who'd slept her way into her job and had no idea how to do it. He said if you looked up "nasty" in an unabridged dictionary, her picture would be in there. He was going to the funeral, he said, to make sure she was really dead.

This is a percussion beats made at tempo 124. It spans 8 bars and is ready to be looped in your daw. This is a sound i've found in my old foxdot projects, it has a really cool "ocean" or "wave" noise-like sound that repeats at the right then left of stereo, in the end of each 4-bar segement. It layers multiple kicks and snares, with one of the sounds being stretched, that produce this "wave" sound. It can be evaluated in foxdot with the following code to replicate this result. D1 >> play(p[" [--]o h: -"]. Layer("mirror"),dur=pdur(5,8), rate=expvar([0. 09,2],8),sample=2, pan=sinvar([-1,1],16),amplify=0. 5).

I recorded this from a balcony (5th floor) in the middle of a summer day (end of july), using a mid/side set (mkh30 + c480 b-uls/ck62-df omni) into sound devices mixpre3. Not any processing has been added, except a plain m/s to x/y stereo conversion and low-cut filter (30hz). This is a generally quiet atmo, sometimes light wind comes in, some seagulls and other birds are there at times, some construction work happens etc. The traffic noise is present, but in the distant way. Feel free to use it in any of your productions. Not for resale.

I wanted to prove you could make an 808 bass in tripleoscillator (lmms) without a vst. I've never made hip-hop before. This is not a complete song, so i'm thinking it should be used as a series of loops in something like mixxx:. 0:00-0:07: intro0:07-0:20: loop 1 (fewer hi-hats)0:20-0:34: loop 2 (sprinkly hi-hats)0:34-0:42: loop 3 (just pads mostly)0:42-1:03: loop 4 (basically the same as loop 2 but with arp)1:03-end: outro. I put like zero effort into it fyi so i'm not offended if you don't like it. Also, no need to credit me, in fact, it's so low effort i'd almost rather you didn't ;).

My mother's house is the keeper of a trend by sligh grandfather clock named bonnie. Each time i pass by it, i admire the sound. I decided to capture it. It's mostly a clean recording outside of the occasional bird chirp or atmospheric sound. Easy to clean up, edit, and loop. Enjoy!. Recorded using an oktava mk-012-01 through a focusrite scarlett 2i2 audio interface; captured at 96k 32bit float, and bounced down to 48k/24bit in pro tools on windows 11. The mic was placed about two inches away, perpendicular to the face of the clock with the dial window open. The only processing i applied was a fabfilter proq3 48db/oct low cut at 110hz to eliminate of some of the room/ac rumble.

Just having some fun with the 6 inches of snow that we received. The first part of this is me walking/breaking some ice that had formed in a low area and then me walking on snow, which has a frosty glaze on top of it. Recorded with the handy/zoom h-4n recorder using its built-in microphones. The built-in microphones can be adjusted to pick up sound from 90 degrees around the microphones to 180 degrees. For this recording, i had them on 180 degrees. *note, you will also -- if you listen carefully -- hear a male robin singing in a tree. Pretty unique combination - the snow and ice being crunched with the typical sound of spring in background. He must have been one tough bird!.

Boost the lows, layer and add some delay and it's a good wing flap of a flock of birds.

This sound was created as follows:. -zynaddsubfx free (and insanely amazing) software synthesizer generated simple g tone using a sine-wave adsynth engine- creative sbs 250 speakers played it back distorting the sound naturally and adding some interesting stereo phasing effects (is that caused by analog signal cable being longer for one speaker?)- i was manually changing the volume using the speaker's potentiometer (whitch is dirty and added some interesting noises on the right speaker, and also at peak loudness during the 54th second the right speaker is quiet)- the output was captured by zoom h2's rear mics- and recorded via usb into audacity free audio editing program- i exported the recording as 16-bit flac.

(recorder: zoomh4npro 2018)(microphones: zoomh4npro 2018 on-board microphones). This is a recording of illegal fireworks being launched all over los angeles on the 4th of july, 2020. All surface to air fireworks are illegal but, due to covid-19 cabin fever, people just didn't care this year. This recording is almost 99% voice free. There was a couple on a balcony that are barely heard muttering something in just a minute or two of this recording. For the most part, it's clean. I kept the peaks very low to maintain a natural sound. All of my sounds recordings are provided free of all charges. I give all rights to the down-loader for any purpose either personal or commercial. Enjoy!. Christopher c. Courter.
