Me playing with a thin, 50 cm * 15 cm metal sheet. I tried bending it at different speeds to get different sounds from it.

I recently found this awesome sounding metal cover in my workshop and decided to do some high quality recordings with it. I used akg c414, a neve portic 5012 preamp my rme bayface and some slight postproduction (compression and slight eq). The sound is open source and can be downloaded in 24bit wave here.

This sound has been processed using the harmonic plus stochastical analysis of the sms-tools package https://github. Com/mtg/sms-tools with frequency scaling and frequency stretching, to give a metallic flange & 2 octave bend effect.

My wooden staircase squeaks. Recorded close but there's still a little reverberation frome the room.
