One friday night, me and my partner were eating dinner, and we both heard a click. She perks up, "what was that?" and i said "the dryer is running, probably something in it" and she goes "no it was inside" (our dryer is like a back door outside porch kinda deal). I noticed it came from inside as well, in the kitchen, but mentally shrugged it off because lasagna. But now i know she heard it inside too, so i walk in the kitchen where the sound came from and don't see anything moving or on. I took note of where my cats were in case anything was being chewed on: one in bed, one on the couch, they aren't chewing on anything or are even near the clicking sound, so back to dinner. About 45 minutes later, dinner is wrapped up, my partner is asleep and i start turning off all the lights. When i turn the kitchen lights off, there is a light that stays on in the corner. I have a car battery recharger there: it has usb ports in case ya lose power, charger cables, and a flashlight attached on the side. . . . Which is on. I turn it off: exact same click that i heard earlier. Do i have a ghost?.

I tried out some new gear and methods! more mountainside rain! a complete storm from beginning to end with swelling and then waning rainfall, occasional thunder. Ms stereo bar on mic stand projected through open second-floor window, just under the roof eaves. Recorded july 20th during one of the mid-afternoon brief intense storms we can seem to get frequently in the rocky mountain foothills beginning around june. If you were listening and wondering, the direct sound of the thunder is somewhat occluded as i believe the storm was behind the overhanging roof and house from the perspective of the microphone array. The mountainous terrain and other objects in the field reflected some of that thunderclap, as well as the exterior wall of the home, and so this is all a little bit funky. An actual new production instead of old stuff! made in june of 2020. A dark intro implies the humming engines of the spaceship you're in as you're traveling at speeds unimaginable. Slowly the ship starts to spring to life. As you open your eyes, slow but huge bands of light sweeps across your cryogenic sleeping pod, as if being scanned. The pod starts to move while you're still in it, going through chambers filled with machinery and bleeping computer stations, until it stops in front of a huge closed door. Suddenly, your pod opens up as well as the door. Your eyes are greeted with the majestic sight of a gigantic control room with windows as far as the eyes can see, galaxies fills your field of view, a beautiful synergetic view of the grandeur of space and the hundreds of lights of the control room, welcoming you to a new adventure. 2 simple chords form the basis of a textural composition supplied with sound effects. Plugins used: ni kontakt 5 with atom hub's the planet, doom by sampletraxx, space by rigid audio, ni absynth, and massive vst synths. **please rate if you like this sound. I appreciate it so much!!**. This is an effect i created with my voice to create a demon growl in audacity using my audio technica microphone. I wanted to create a sound that could be creepy but not too scary for kids or children's stories originally. Then i added the paulstretch effect in audacity to create a more ominous, creepy, scary, evil, sound for a more horror like ambience. So these are all real reactions to certain things i do, i. E, video games, narrations, etc. Funny story. . . The reason this one is from far away is because while recording a narration, a lovely spider decided to descend from the ceiling, and i flipped out, having decently bad arachnophobia. It also got near my hamster's cage, so naturally i bellowed "die!" when killing it. I'm uh. . . Very passionate about certain things. I myself need genuinely real vocal reactions. I often look for voice clips here on freesound, and there's just some stuff that isn't here. I know i'm not the only one, either, so i post mine as well so others may use them. Interestingly, i've gotten one person who took the time to uh. . . Tell me how they. . . Disapproved of my voice clips, so i just wanted to say that if you wanna use them, do, if not, don't, that's why they are there. I enjoy animating, and others do too, wanting to use others' voice clips. I also had a couple people make techno remixes of a lot of my sounds (thank you by the way, they're awesome). It's not that i care about the. . . Eventually, at her hands and from her “deep” feminine resolve and with considerable force, the nautilus made port. Ta-daa!! lubricant sure wasn’t needed anymore but had spent the night in the fridge. So she used it😬 end published audio, but not the still-expanding asshole, um, event. Take-away: if you cannot be respectful, at least be careful where you sleep. In fact just a bit later, the enhanced vibrators and integral power-stroking were switched on. Gracious. He didn’t know it had an “on” 🙀 and just about went wild. A lovely, cohort-induced stiffy relaxed and then, any semblance of bladder control did too - oh, oh my 😸 😹then we left.

A heartbeat sound i made, complete with some gurgling, blood-rushing sounds. Just uploaded a version without the gurgling, in case you prefer the way that sounds. To make this, i took a kick-drum sample and a snare-drum sample, and made a loop of kick-snare, kick-snare, kick-snare, over and over. After that, i eq'd out the more drum-like parts of each sample, added reverb to dull it, a chorus plugin and some compression to remove some of the drums' attack. . . Basically processed the hell out of them. To get the blood gurgling sound, i filled a water-bottle almost all the way full and turned it sideways, so i had a massive air-bubble floating around. I then tilted the bottle back and forth in front of my blue yeti usb condenser mic, so you could hear the air-bubble swishing. I had to be pretty gentle, because if you rock the horizontal bottle too much, the bubble moves too fast and makes a fake-sounding "gloomp. ". When i was happy with it, i mixed the heartbeat sound and the gurgling sounds so they'd work well together. Both the sounds were in mono, so i used a free plugin called wok ms-t on both of them to create a fake hard-panned stereo effect. I wanted it to sound like you'd been running, and were hearing the heartbeat in your ears. I think it turned out pretty cool. .

Please rate if you like this sound :). This is my voice. I was trying to recreate a similar sound to those of the shrieking nazgul creatures in lord of the rings. They are referred to as different things but overall a creepy, evil, raspy, breathy type screeching sound. I created this with a type of practiced scream on a blue yeti usb condenser microphone. I recorded in audacity and added some reverb, fade in, and fade out. It was originally for a video game voice over audition. I also have the original with no fx if needed. My example/inspiration were the creatures in lord of the rings, fellowship of the ring. They are also called the fell riders and the black wings (when they ride the fell beasts), as well as the shadows, the servants of sauron, and the nine servants of the lord of the rings. The orcs of the tower of cirith ungol call them shriekers. I download from this site often, so i thought i would return the favor :). Feel free to contact me with any other requests!. A late summer soundscape that is a favorite of mine. . Microphones set up in some mature woods about 60 feet from a large lake on labor day weekend. Most of the background is the insects, which are very obvious during this time of year. The swelling of their volume is nap-inducing (*at least to me in my opinion. )here is the midwest this swelling and subsiding of the insect wave tells me that summer is just about starting to go back downhill, after a feverish peak. Despite the covid-19 of the year, nature does not seem to have changed her soundscape. Life goes on in the forests. The birds, whose job of raising young is over, are still there. . . They're just resting and relaxing and listening to the insects as well i'm sure. Now of course you will hear a few prominent birds in this captured moment:(1) a great blue heron squawks out starting at 1:17 into this piece. (2) the alarm call of a red-headed woodpecker can be heard at 2:14. Other than that, just the insects singing their hearts out and the assortment of birds taking secondary place during this time of year. This was recorded on sunday september 6th 2020 at 8:30 in the morning in the forest in southern illinois. Equipment: zoom f4, microphone: sennheiser mkh 8060. Enjoy this audio snapshot of the subdued -- yet vibrant - sound color of late summer, finding comfort in the fact that, within four weeks, the colors of the leaves will be changing to oranges and reds and yellows. But, for now, there is still life to live in the insect and bird world.

88 piano keys, long natural reverb: up to 13 seconds per note. This is me giving back. I love freesound. You guys saved my bacon back in the day. Recently i searched for free piano notes for a game i'm making, but the only ones i could find ended too quickly. I need long reverb! luckily i have an old piano, so i made my own. So this is me giving back. This is an old piano!!!. We had the piano tuned a year ago, but it is well over 60 years old, so be warned! these notes have character! if you want perfect tone, either edit them individually, generate something artificially, or buy a professional set. But if you want a piano with personality, this is for you. Being an old piano, it only has 85 keys. So i created the highest 3 notes by speeding up previous notes, to make the modern standard 88 keys. How the notes were created. The notes are created on an old (well over 50 years) steinhoff upright piano. It only has 85 keys, so i faked the highest 3 keys by taking previous keys and changing their pitch. I opened the top, balanced my trusty everesta bm-800 condenser microphone across the top near the high note end, and held down the "loud" pedal. Each note was then hit and kept pressed down until i could no longer hear any reverb. Notes were saved as mp3 using my laptop, using free sound recorder on the highest quality settings. Yeah, i know it isn't flac, but i am strictly amateur with budget to match, and that was the best i could do. After that, all editing was of course uncomopressed until the final save. How the notes were edited. Editing was kept to a minimum, mainly to enhance the reverberation. All editing took place on audacity on linux mint. First i cropped any silence from the start. Next, used the envelope function to gradually increae volume to 200% over a couple of seconds. That is, the quietest part of the reverb is twice as loud as you might expect. Because for my game i sometimes need a single piano key to last ten seconds. Next i maximised the volume. If there was just a single stray waveform that stuck out then i reduced that by 2db or so then maximised again. Because like i said, i want to hear that reverb! i then found the part where background noise starts to be noticeable, and faded out over 1 second or so. This meant that the lowest notes had as much as 13 seconds of reverb, whereas the highest notes might only have 2 or so. Finally i checked the result, and edited three or four notes that i felt were just too ugly (badly tuned, or for some reason the software suddenly got hissy when the note became too quiet. Weird. ) i also slightly changed the pitch of a couple of notes that were slightly out of tune but otherwise ok. No doubt a better ear than mine could teak all of the notes. But as i said, it's an old piano and we're keeping it real. Finally, files were compressed to ogg at the highest quality setting, using soundkonverter. Why not flac?. I live in the countryside with very slow broadband, so i apologise for including more of the original files. But as it was, uploading this zip file took about an hour. Enjoy. Legal. Use this for anything you want, commercial or not, credit me or not. Consider it public domain. My main concern is that i had completely legal sound for my game, with nice long reverb and character. Uploading it here provides proof that i created it first, just in case anybody comes back and says "those are mine" (it happens).

This is an updated (improved is debatable) version of my previous electric contact stun gun firing sound, except longer and without peaking. Oh and higher sampling rate so you can hear all the higher frequencies better when you pitch it down. You'll immediately notice it sounds like the boring buzz of a bee. Oh well, not like you'll get a lightning storm. That's about it. Don't forget to have fun. Copy pasta---also commonly and incorrectly referred to as a "taser" which is on the same level as calling a magazine a "clip". See google for more info. I can't help that it sounds like a bee. Also if it's too short, you'll have to make it longer in your daw. Uses (apart from videos that involve a stun gun or maybe a real taser brand taser): magic lighting zaps? a game show buzzer?. Possible vst modifications. Reverb: sound impulses for speakers. Distortion (guitar style): military style radio noise. Chorus/flange: science sounding things. Pitch: at -30 semitones you get some low pitched sound similar to a airsoft aeg which may be ideal for montage airsoft videos where piles of tokyo marui m4s traditionally muffled by the gopro waterproof case. // at -45 semitones you resemble gun fire at a distance. Mathematically at 10 rps (600 rpm) you could use this as a sit in for a distant fired ak-47 rifle ideal for video games, war movies, mods, etc. Apply a resonant filter and some reverb for appropriate outdoor acoustics. And nobody will know your distant machine gun sound was a civilian stun gun except for us semi colon right parenthesis. Or you could also apply ringmod at ~9000 hz to simulate ear ringing for those ptsd scenes. Or some gau-8 avenger. Trimming + looping + pitch: if you can loop this properly in a daw you could even create a saw style bass for electronic dance music.

I made this recording of ambient backgroud noise directly beneath the eiffel tower. The shape of the eiffel tower creates a unique acoustic environment in the vicinity of the tower, especially beneath it. You can hear a much higher level of background noise than you would hear in an open area, and the noise is unusual. The tower is made of thin pieces of iron arranged into a complex and very large lattice, which reflects and slices and dices sound in a unique way. Thus you have a high level of very even and unidentifiable background noise as noises from the ground and the platform get bounced around and distorted by the structure of the tower. This recording was made from the ground, with microphones pointed straight upwards about 2 meters off the ground. Noises from the ground travel upwards and bounce around the inside of the tower, then drift back down. There are noises in the tower itself as well, such as elevator motors and people on the platforms. The first platform, at 57 meters, is open in the center, whereas the second platform, at 116 meters, is completely closed and flat on the bottom. Wind moving through the tower also makes noise, and again the open structure of the tower changes the noise in a way that is specific to the eiffel tower. There wasn't much wind at ground level for this recording, but i don't know what the wind speed was at higher levels in the tower. Some voices in multiple languages are audible in the recording, as the area beneath the tower is awash in tourists. Recorded hand-held with a zoom h4n and a mini windjammer, using built-in mics, in stereo 96 khz / 24 bits, then converted to mp3 at 320 kbps because of the size of the file. Duration is about two minutes.

This is a reading from the second chapter of "nathaniel's nutmeg: or, the true and incredible adventures of the spice trader who changed the course of history", by giles milton. It is also intended for the freesound sound museum to represent books as what is fading rapidly into obsolescence. By the time you read this, you may not even know what a books is. Books are when the written word is compiled onto sheets of paper in a long-form volume. You may not know what paper is. Paper is commonly used to write on or make oregano cranes with, being flat and thin rectangles made from trees. You probably won't remember what a tree was. That is a very sad thing. They are all gone now, destroyed in feckless deference to paper. When the paper runs out, there will be nothing left to write our collective histories on, what we desperately need. When this occurs, it will stand as the moment our past was truly lost, leaving us lost the same, drifting in circles. Until another man or woman rises up to invent trees again, thus beginning the cycle anew. It's a beautiful idea. We should always be moving towards the future, not lost in syrupy memories of old forests not seen for what they really are: petrified wood and amber. Leave that with the other fossils and relics. Let it be the final page written on the last book until it crumbles to dust. Let it go. The file was recorded using a mid/side stereo technique at 24bits, downsampled to 16bits under the loving care of gaussian dither. The room was treated as best i could to be acoustically pleasing and quiet. I think you will find the noise floor to be particularly well balanced and textured, suitable for post-production tasks, or just for relaxing with at home. .

My first upload! this sound i made using the zmors synth on my ipad air2 - i used audiobus which is a great routing software allowing many of a lot of awesome sounding synths that are now on ipad and can be played professionally via a usb keyboard controller (very handy for gigging) okay this is getting too wordy. . . I used audiobus overall with zmors in the first slot being routed through the wonderful aufx eq app in the center (effects) slot then ran the most useful of all ---> audioshare app in the 3rd or output slot to record it all. . . Keep in mind that the number of devices you can run in these three slots is virtually limitless - as much as your device can handle so you can get really nuts with several synths, a drum machine, etc all routing to the middle (fx) stop in the chain and picking up a fat 3 or 4 nice sounding effects devices then on to output to audioshare or you can now use just audioshare as host and run zmors in it directly (and probably more smoothly). I chose zmors because on a couple of other ipads (ipad mini, ipad 2 especially, and ipad air a little bit) i was noticing that it was a resource hog and was not playing correctly or there was a huge lag in the latency so with the new(er) ipad air 2 i wanted to hear the zmors synth and it really is an underappreciated majestic sounding beast if you ask me. I am going to experiment further with it as the unique architecture and just the way it sounds is totally different from any other synth i've yet to hear on ipad or in general. It kind of reminds me of a fatter, more modern. Sequential circuits 6 track. Which i've had a couple of and have a thick layered sound - kind of like a really nice turkey sandwich with a good portion of swiss cheese then you notice that there's still some roast beef left and put a good amount of that between bread as well. This is a collection of "small room reverb" impulse responses that i sampled in a new england home known as butternut lodge, built and owned by actress bette davis back in 1940. It consists of all wooden rooms with many non-parallel surfaces, rugs and furniture and includes 3 round-shaped "silo" rooms! these rooms sound clean and do not have the irritating "ping" of many rectangular rooms. Although these round shapes (and some of the other very small rooms) could potentially wreak havoc with phase at specific frequencies when summed to mono, i recorded this using the mid/side mic technique; therefore, the "side" channels fully cancel out, leaving a clean monaural reverb signal. These irs are stored as flac files. They can be used directly by any daw without conversion and have the added feature of being id3 tagged with a photo of the room each ir is taken from. After downloading, select view -> large icons in the folder to view the rooms. I sampled each room using a swept sine wave into a jbl flip 6 bluetooth speaker; recorded through a tascam tm-st1 m/s stereo microphone, feeding a tascam dr-07 recorder @ 24-bits 44. 1 khz and deconvolved using reaper. As of this post, i've been using these rooms for about 2 weeks. So far, i've found the "garage" to sound fantastic on drums! the drum sound! also, many of the other smaller rooms have a great effect on guitars, keys, and hand percussion. Each room varies in tone and brightness, so i've found that selecting/tuning the reverb send works well if approached like an eq. Increase the effect send until the instrument "feels" right (then perhaps back off slightly). A close-miked acoustic guitar, for instance, will take on a nice brightness and 3-d quality; not particularly reverberant, just big. At that point, i recommend applying any eq, compression, and bigger-sounding reverb effects. Hopefully you enjoy this. Please let me know how you like it and if you have any suggestions. Cheers!. Ok, i don't know how many of you might be interested in this, but i figure there's no harm in posting it. I'm working on some original songs. Laptop-based, electronic songs, with many orchestral parts, including violin, viola, cello, and string bass. Presonus studio one has some very nice vst string instruments, and i have some really great ones for kontakt. But they all are missing one thing, and i couldn't find the (admittedly esoteric) sound that i'm looking for anywhere on the internet. Being a viola player myself, i recorded myself playing these very particular incidental sounds. Let me explain-. There's this 'grabby' sound that a well-rosined bow makes just is it is first being drawn across the string. Listen carefully to any of the pros and you'll hear it. In your laptop sequences, if used subtly, right at the point where the first note of a phrase is initiated, this sound can give the string part a marked sense of realism*. This, combined with vibrato, reverb and a nice warm/tube/tape saturation setting, nobody will be able to tell the difference between your vst and the real thing. About the audio-i tried to keep them as pitchless as possible, thus not limiting their utility. I recorded two sets of all four open strings (c, g, d, a), first close mic'ed, and once from a few feet away, in stereo. Or to say it another way, the sounds are as follows-1. Open c close2. Open g close3. Open d close4. Open a close5. Open c far6. Open g far7. Open d far8. Open a far. It's totally overkill for me to record all the different versions, but i suppose somebody out there might find one more appropriate than another for their purposes. They work pretty effortlessly for violin and viola, but you might have to pitch them down for cello and string bass. I added no processing whatsoever, apart from normalizing each individual sound. Aiff, recorded at 44/16. Nady scm-2090 stereo condenser mic, focusrite saffire pro 24 interface, recorded in logic. This is a failed attempt at sampling a rock drumkit on 6 tracks. The channels are as follows:. 0: oh l1: oh r2: kick3: snare4: room l5: room r. I've captured this into ardour 5. 12 using 3 different audio interfaces:. Behringer umc202hd - overheads (dynamic mics)line 6 pod studio ux2 - kick and snare (condenser + dynamic)zoom h2 - room ambience (built-in xy condenser mics). This file is a 6-channel 24-bit flac file encoded using ffmpeg from the raw wav files exported from the original ardour session. There are several issues with this recording however:. 1. The tracks seem to drift, because the individual audio interface clocks were not in sync. The proper way to record multitrack audio is using a single multichannel audio interface - but i didn't have one. 2. There's either x-runs or some usb transfer issues creating small glitches and dropouts in various tracks her and there. Don't know why did this happen, as we've been tracking the real drummer's performance without these issues. Now - fixing these issues manually would be an insane amount of work, but i hope maybe someone has means to either solve them with programming a special tool, or know a tool that could fix these, and make this recorded session ready to be sliced as a drumkit for say - drumgizmo. There's some really good stuff in here - an i was able to cut and mix some really nice drum samples, that i've been using for years, but it's not ready to be fully sliced for maximum flixibility. The instrument was played by myself - it's a drumset by pearl (don't remember the details), owned by the drummer of a band i recorded this with. The band was called small hint - hence the drumkit name. We were recording an ep, and i used some free time left to capture this as well. The ep was never finished and we disbanded soon after. Regarding fixing the issues - here's what i think needs to be done:. 1. I think each hit would have to be automatically phase-aligned on all 6 channels, to correct for the drift. 2. I think it should be possible to automatically detect clicks by simply watching for a sudden change in amplitude between adjacent samples - marking bad areas and then using something like audacity's repair effect to interpolate the waveforms. I think the glitches have much steeper changes in amplitude than even the drum transients, so it should be possible to differentiate between those automatically. If you found a way to fix at least some of these problems - please let me know!. If you've made some "remixes" on freesound - i'd also love to know that. Apart from that - sample what you can out of this and make some sick drum tracks!.

Tambien se utiliza, en algunos pueblos, en la parranda. Está constituido por una caja de madera, cilíndrica y ligeramente cónica, está cubierta por una membrana de cuero seco, vibrante. Fijada al tambor con tirantes metálicos, de modo de poder templarla de acuerdo a las necesidades y gusto del intérprete. En el centro de la membrana va fijada una espiga de madera, de poco más de un centímetro de diámetro, cuyo extremo, romo, va engastado en el cuero, y es atado fuertemente por el lado opuesto de la membrana. Dicha espiga de madera, de unos 7 centímetros de longitud, tiene forma cónica, y va aguzada en la punta. This is a sci-fi ambient drone sound i made. It's creative commons cc0, so please treat it as public domain. You can use it in any commercial or non-commercial media for free, no restrictions. For those curious how i made this, i took a quick 8-second drum loop from my pocket operator po-33 (ko) and ran it through a free time-stretching/pitch-shifting program called akaizer. The program's based on old samplers like the akai s1000 that had extremely artifact-heavy time-stretching and pitch-shifting features. If you slow a sound down enough, the final product tends to sound harsh and electric. Akaizer turned my 8-second drum loop into 2 minutes and 38 seconds of harsh, bassy noise, pretty damn close to the final. Then i imported the file (we'll call it file a) into reaper, my daw. Track 1 has reaeq with a high-shelf acting like a low-pass. Its curve is set at 1386. 2 hz, gain at -inf, and bandwidth at 2. In retrospect, i have no idea why i didn't use a low-pass. Track 1 has a send to a blank track 2, which has a fab-filter pro-q 3 high-pass filter with a 12db slope. It's at 320. 57hz, q is 1. 096. After the eq, track 2 has valhalla shimmer set to the black hole preset with no changes. Track 3 is the default file a with valhalla shimmer on the black hole setting, but with two tweaks. Low-cut is at 30hz, high-cut is at 6630hz. Everything else is the same. That's followed by fab-filter pro-q 3 with these eq settings:-0. 72db at 69. 463hz, q at 1. 007. -1. 11db at 536. 64hz, q at 1. 013, dynamic eq (click "make dynamic" and leave everything as-is). The point of this dynamic eq is to give a slight drop in gain in the 500hz region, which tends to get muddy in larger mixes. I wasn't sure if i'd use this for a larger project, and i didn't want build-up in that region from the already large-sounding track 1 and 2. The ocassional eq drops here also adds a warble to the final mix that helps sell an analog, electrical sound. +0. 85db at 3697. 3hz, q at 1. 009. This is to add subtle airiness to the drone. It seems weird to have "airiness" in the 3-4k region, but it's the sort of rumbliness of the sound traveling away and dissipating in the atmosphere after the lowest drone sounds. My volume fader settings for all 3 tracks:. Track 1: -8. 59 dbtrack 2: -6. 46 dbtrack 3: -6. 43 db. On my master bus, i have izotope imager 9 with these settings:. Band 1: width at -100 (mono) for 59hz and below. Band 2: nothing at 60hz to 525hz (width at 0). Band 3: width at 48. 1 for 526 to 1. 4khz. Band 4: width at 49. 4 at 1. 4khz and above. Stereoize is set to 6. 4ms on mode i. And that's it! no compressors or limiters anywhere, since i liked how dynamic the actual tracks were and i figure you can always add your own compressor or limiter to the final if you want. I've also added the original po-33 drum loop on my page, as well as the loop after it was run through akaizer but before it hit reaper in case you want to do your own processing. Enjoy :).

It is one of the largest shifting sand areas in western europe. The wind can blow undisturbed in many places, resulting in an ever-changing landscape. By purchasing it in 1921, it has been protected for 100 years and we can still enjoy this brabant sahara today. You can roam freely on the sand plain. So there is plenty of room to explore extensively. Marvel at the submerged trees, enjoy the chirping field crickets and quench your thirst at one of the many cafes or restaurants on the edge of this nature reserve. Walking, cycling or on horseback: it's all possible here. With the wind in your hair and the sand in your shoes. You may even come across the sheep herd. The sheep keep the heath short and eat away saplings. This is how they keep the area open. The loonse en drunense duinen still has 270 hectares of shifting sand.
