Electric sparkle sound made in harmor in flstudio. Sound is made of harmor generating dark, unison, subbas oscilation with three partials with fundamental frequency of 50hz. Partials got decaying amplitude along frequencies. Bass is put into wave shaper with smooth, negative peak distortion at 50% of positive range. Then falls into parametric equalizer boosting 3khz, forming wide parabolic shape. Bass frequencies are cut off. 44. 1khz, 16bit.

I used the "the challenge. Wav" base (id: 561988) and made a simple melody with a synth, added effects and some beats. I used some fl studio effects: reverb, echo, distortion, equalization, amplify, low-fi effect, low-pass, drums and synthesizer. Amazing challenge as always, thanks badoink.

Experimental recording idea i had in summer 2017, i buried two contact microphones half a foot deep in a rock beach and captured the noise ambience picked up in the rocks, as well as the tide coming over the microphones eventually. A simple sine wave beep running through soft saturation and modulation, then being exported deliberately at 8khz and 8bit to simulate the low quality of a phone call. Use this as a standard beep sound coming through a phone speaker. The latter half is a little faster to enable a simulation of hanging up or the call being rejected.

Wind can sometimes play havoc with recording --- but, with some luck you can get good wind recordings. Here is a recording of lake waves lapping at the short of a small lake in southern illinois. This particular day, the winds were blowing steady out of the south at 25 miles an hour, with gusts even higher. Recording made with my trusted zoom h4n recorder, using its built-in microphones. Of course a foam wind-screen made this recording listenable. Without the foam wind-screen the recording would simply have been an obnoxious, unintelligable roar!also, since the waves were so loud to begin with, i did not have to crank the recording gain real high -- i had the gain only on 65 for this recording. .

Channeling the /dev/sda1 hard drive partition into a file. At last i've imported the raw file properly as the 8-bit unsigned linear pcm. This is 8bit mono 44100 hz windows wave. I wanted to make a very gentle wakeup alarm for my android phone. It's a 25-minute long fade in of a pure 3-khz tone. Created with audacity. I made this pad sound by starting with a traditional saw wave and mixing various effects together such as reverb and chorus. I used various effects to stretch, raise pitch, and a few others. I also layered the higher sound 4 times to get the "harmony". The low sound was my voice. Here's a vocal sample of "hydrochloric acid" ran through audioterm and sent to a waldorf blofeld as a wavetable. The blofeld pitches up and then scans the wavetable (via mod wheel, so it's fun), which plays out what you hear here, plus a fair bit of outboard verb. Sounds like a vocoder but it's not. As opposed to traditional samplers the pitch is independent of the playback rate / length of the sample.

Here's some ambience i recorded in 2021 when i went to surf side beach, texas for a weekend vacation with family. This was recorded from the decking of the house we were staying in. The beach was probably around 50 yards away from us, give or take a few feet. The ambience was recorded with the sennheiser ambeo smart headset (no longer made) connected to an apple iphone 8 with an app called backpack studio acting as the actual recorder.

Trying to start a 1983 volvo 245 after a stop at a gas station. First we hear the seatbelt warning signal after the driver turns the ignition on. The first start attempt fails. The two following attempts fail because the starter fails to engage with the flywheel, creating a very loud and unpleasant sound. There is some reverberation from the metal roof of the gas station. At 00:24, the driver remarks "he's doing it again!". The fourth attempt succeeds in starting the engine after a rather long cranking. We then drive off and we also hear some squeaking from the steering wheel. Throughout the recording we hear breathing noises from the driver (80 year old man, smoker). The recording was made in the front passanger seat with the window open, that's why there a very noticable difference between the left and right channel. I made this as a near ultrasonic sms signal. Created and edited with audacity, filtered with glame bandpass filter. If you hardly cut a pure tone, you introduce a whole lot of other frequencies to the signal at the cutting point. To avoid this after the cutting you need to filter the whole thing with a bandpass filter to ensure you have as little other frequency content as possible. It will audibly soften the start and the end of the sound. That's what i did here.

I'm trying to get some character to my modular sounds. This is a sequence with a sawtooth wave mixed with noise and joined in a vca that can distort a little. It's a vca i bought used. Don't think a new vca of the same sort distortes. I really like that. I little reverb is added to the sound. The sound is analog until it reaches the reverb. Sometime i will buy a spring reverb. Promise. But here, on the internet, the sound is digital anyway.
