A short cello phrase recorded in amstelveen (netherlands) on the 22th of september 2012. A rme fireface 400 soundcard was used and ableton live as recording software. The resulting sound is a mix between recording with a zoom h4n (used as microphone), a dpa 4099 and an oktava mk-012 microphone.

The "concrete cello" pack is a collection of scraping, scratchy and droning improvisations on the cello focussing on the creation of sounds to be used as base materials for future compositions. They were originally recorded in 2019 to be used in as sound design elements for the documentary "hotel regina" by director matthias berger for which i composed the music. I build it in fl studio (32bits) with the soundfonts plugin (the soundfont used was "sgm")overdubs were done with a "strings" sample and the rest was just the pure instrument with eq and reverb. (it also includes a subtle piano and choir).
