The deep, low octave sound effect popularised by eric serra for the goldeneye film score. It is available on the e-mu proteus 2 fx synth module under the patch "infinite". Alternatively, you can make a similar sound by sampling a woodblock/tambourine/cowbell and then pitching it down heavily (with added reverb).

Td-3-tg recorded with zoom h-1. Td was performing slide through octaves with "slide" button pressed in program, and subsequent cs were played, in octave -1 and 0, and higher c in octave 0 and +1, back and forth. Program takes 7 16th notes and the space between notes takes 9 rests. Tempo of the td-3 was set to maximum and the volume control was set to high amount, to let zoom h-1 with rec level setting to 37, be driven up to -6db. Sound recorded in 96khz and 24bits. Trimmed and saved in flstudio edison, what made sound 32bit. No amplify, no normalisation. "tune" knob of td-3 was set to maximum as well as "cut off", "envelope" and "accent". "resonance" and "decay" was set to one o'clock. "waveform" swicth was set to square. No distortion. Zoom h-1 was plugged by a cable, td-3 output to line in. Cable was named vitalco - 1/8 inch trs to 1/4 ts, male to male, 3m.

An imitation of an australian police siren using synthesizer and a big outdoor-style reverb. The siren consists of two oscillators, one of them loops at 4bars at 115bpm. The other is approx 14 times faster. They both move in same approximate freq range from approx f#5 up to g#6, about an octave.

3rd in chromatic order. I recorded 16 notes from a music box. I waited for the motor to loose juice then i wound it forward manually so i could record each separate note chromatically. There are two octaves plus one note. Begins with d and climbs up the scale ending with e.

This is a smoothly rising shepard tone that i created using adobe audition 3's tone generator. I generated the tone as sine waves in 7 different octaves and mixed the results together. The period of repetition is 10 seconds. (this is a second version in which i removed the phase variance, making the sound monophonic for all practical purposes).

It's kind of like the sound zombies make in movies where they are not really zombies but raging infected people. I used : pitch shift, time shift, octaver, eq, overdrive.

Made using two synths. One is a noise generator that has been pitched down three octaves. It has a 12-hertz sine tremolo on either side, one of which is offset by half a wavelength. The other synth is a deep organ playing e3 and g3. I cut the sound in audacity, and the waves line up perfectly, so you don't need to worry about looping it badly.

This is the second of two fx i've posted of the beast i used for beauty and the beast in our theatre. I was having a terrible time finding a good sound so i just pitch shifted my own voice down an octave. This is the second where the beast is panting just before his second entrance. This is a simple loop of me playing some nice triplet delay textures on guitar. This is a stereo file with 2 guitars panned on the right and left, playing the same pattern in different octaves, offering a nice atmosphere. This is a kick i made with my mouth. I've been making this hardcore kick sound with my mouth since high school, more than 10 years. I blended two layers of the sample, one normal pitch one an octave down. Added a distortion and eq to it. Used adobe audition and fl studio to make this. 请享受.

This is a gurgling sound i created by accident. It's a short clip from the "new dimensions in sound (1957)" public domain clip from the prelinger collection at archive. Org. Specifically, i used this line: "as the record plays, the needle wiggles. " cut out the first part, made a loop of "the needle wiggles. . . The needle wiggles," and lowered the pitch with reapitch by two octaves. This was the result.

This is a 808 bass which i sampled from my novation drum station. The sample covers one full octave from c#0-c1. The sound was recorded through a yamaha m1516 which pretty much has the same circuit as a api. As you can hear it sounds pretty much the same as a roland 808. This was originally a friend's cat meowing but it has been processed heavily. First, it was put through a granulizer and the pitch was dropped -2 octaves. The sample was then panned l-r using automation, and bitcrushed. Lastly, to get a slight detuned feel, i added a chorus effect. This sample sounds even better with some convolution or hall reverb but i left this effect out since it's usually a effect users want total control over. The end result is a strange, alien sounding noise.

My childhood piano, an old german upright. Recorded using a studio projects b3 condenser mic through a presonus tubepre into an akai mpc1000. Mic'd from the top with the lid up, closer to the bass end. The piano is old and slightly out of tune, with a crack in the soundboard. The only processing was with analogx autotune to tune the samples, which did a very good job. Sampled 3 notes per octave so each sample only needs to be tuned + or - a semitone to span the whole range. It is a dark and moody sounding, a lot of character but in now way "pristine".
