An earthquake that ripples through from far away and then makes the roof of a house crack and cave in. Used audacity to manipulate a couple different sounds to create the rumble of the earthquake. Then i added the cracking noise in the same program from a different effect (wood breaking).

Rode nt4 microphone compare signal-noise of phantom and battery power. Nt4, together with small electrical clock, in bed under all the pillows of the house. ;-). First 48v phantom-powersecond 9 v battery-power. Gear chain: rode nt4 with original xlr cord > sound devices 302 >tascam dr-100 mk2. My conclusion: the battery powered mic nt4 is 0. 5db more quiet. I sold my giant couch, and two professional movers came to pick it up. Before they moved it, they whipped out a huge roll of clear plastic, and expertly passed it around and around the sofa until the whole thing was wrapped. The noise the wrapping made was astonishingly loud and echoey in our place, and sounded very. . . Uh. . . Science fiction-y. Recorded on my samsung note 20 phone, and some movers' mumbles included, so not desperately high quality -- but maybe someone can use part of it for a wizard rending the space time continuum with a sharpened wormhole, or some such. :-).

You will hear the sound in flight, the landing gear go down, touchdown, and the airplane begin to taxi back to the terminal. This is the sound made by the needle crossing the linen cloth during my wife's embroidery sessions. The fabric is under extreme tension in a special wooden frame, it's like a tambourine skin. So when she stitches, the needle goes through the fabric (linen) and therefrom comes the main noise (like a door w/o grease). A second noise is a kind of dry "pop". It's when the thread finishes to run across the fabric, a tiny loop is stuck and the relased, making the fabric jump like a drum skin once again. This is my first submission to the site. I've recently been exploring sound design a little bit more and thought i would provide something. Here is 15 minutes of ambient sound recorded around 5 am on october 10th, 2011. I used a shure sm58 microphone through a native instruments audio 8 dj interface. Without a microphone amplifier or my active microphone ready to use i ended up amplifying this about 52 db then removed the extraneous noise by 80% @ 40 db using the noise reduction plug-in in adobe audition cs5. 5. Finally, saving the result to wav @ 44,100 hz, 16-bit.

A typhoon thunderstorm recorded in a backyard of an apartment complex in xinyi district, taipei city, taiwan, in late august, 2022. Rain can be heard falling on grass, the glass roof over the recording area, and various roof materials in the area such as tin, brick, concrete, and clay tile. Occasionally, there is thunder. Tc-electronic novasystem hiss. This is awesome device, but at one moment it was started produce this hiss. First part is line input and second part is guitar (tc it's call "drive") input. In the each part i switch on for a few seconds "mod" pedal on the processor.

Airport checkin acknowledge sound. Request from ratla. Used the original recording, cutted the first part. Noise-reducted 2 times. Leveled the frequencies a bit higher and finally set an echo on it to fade out slowly. Equipment used: audacity.

Heavy gain but not super high gain. Think loud marshall amp with the guitar player teasing you to the start of the song. And yeah it sounds almost like that one song you all know.
