Any thursday, 12:00 am more or less. I was sitting down in a bench, looking to the buildings opposite me, with the road at my back. My handy recorder zoom h4n in my hands. Some people was chatting next to a car and then they got inside and they left (you can hear that on the left channel. Got it? "left" channel :d). You can hear people passing from one channel to another, cars and motorbikes. It was in c/ bravo murillo (madrid, spain). In that part, it is a one way street for vehicles, so all of them go from right to left channel.

Here is another night of that couple next door. They were active for around 25 minutes. Sounds like they had a really good night. The recorded audio of this was over two hours long and edit down to this length. Many of their conversations before they you know and after they finished were excluded out. At 2:32, sounds like the woman said "wanna go ahead,. . . "starting around at 3:45 was when they probably began to have their fun in bed, but there were still bits of soft chit chat between the couple. At 13:25 is when there are bits of moans coming from the woman. At 14:50 is when the rising action really begins. At 25:00 was when their fun was coming to an end, and you should be able to hear some of the noises from the guy. For those who just want the good parts of the audio: 13:25-25:56.

This is the variable mid/high pitch sound of a metal door not properly closed in my college, making a whistling sound. There are very light sounds of people passing and chatting by the door. I noticed one night my broken metallic glass screen door was making quite a ruckus in the wind. I grabbed my zoom h1 and a roll of duct tape and taped it to the interior portion of the door. I proceeded to record the semi-contact-mic results here in at 96 khz / 24 bit. Plenty of good stuff to pull from here, imo. Hope you can get some use out of this one. Enjoy.

A recording made in july around 7:00 at night near a huge man-made lake. The ever-present insects are there, but overshadowed by the peepers. 13 seconds in a dog barks off in the distance and the echo is just incredible. 24 seconds into the recording is the classic call of the red-wing blackbird. It's a long, organic and haunting two-tone call echoing in the forest night; a clear alternative to the mechanical and tightly musical ringtones out there, and one i like a lot. Edited to wrap nicely for a continuing repeat.

A musical santa plush with old, half-used batteries that i recorded 16 years ago. Sorry for the loud sound, the bitrate and the sound quality. I thought the file would still be usable. These were recorded may 26 2007, about two weeks after the first spring peepers (pseudacris crucifer) were heard in the area. A dog in a distant garden can be heard barking a couple of times in this recording, but if anyone needs a clean recording i can probably find another, similar-length section of the original without extraneous sound. I captured this excited pileated woodpecker on the edge of some deep woods, on a hot dusk in august 2010. It was about 7:30 on a calm night at the edge of the shawnee national forest. The tempurature was 85 degrees. What i find really enjoyable though is the rising, and ebbing and flowing of, i believe the typical summer cicadas. Recorded using my zoom h4n recorder using the internal buil-in microphones.

Recorded this while going to the loo in a camping trip. The door was pretty creaky so i decided to record it because it could be a good sound effect. Of course i didn't have any equipment with me so the sound was recorded on my phone, which is why it's a bit echoey and shabby. Feel free to use however you please, you don't even need to credit me! :).

I recorded people blowing up fireworks in my neighborhood last night with a zoom 6 using the stereo mics. Then i isolated individual sounds and tweaked the eq some in adobe audition, then ran those sounds back-to-back to make these "machine gun" sounds. Let me know what you think? (i might try making some more versions of these).
