This is a short file recorded in the ne suburban area of mpls. , mn. It is what the pond in our back yard sounds like after dark in may. Recorded with the built in mics of a marantz pmd660 at a distance of 30 yards from my deck.

The first sunday of may is the international dawn chorus day! on the 3rd of may 2020, artists and field recordists in different parts of the world recorded the birdsong around the time of the local sunrise, and then the sounds were put together in a synchronous collage. I was wearing a flat cap so the sheep thought i was the farmer and raced down the hill towards me, expecting to be fed. They were disappointed. It was early may and the air was still and clear. You can make out the echoes from the steep hill behind them.
