But instead of going straight to the fat bass / big drums-part i made a quiet little intro before it kicks off. I made the drums with both sampled drums and a drum-machine to make it big. And i use 3 different basses. For a little extra spice i put some strings and stuff on it. Would fit anything big, dramatic and scary!!!. Nature, and man-made machines, wake up on a saturday in a small town in southern illinois. Even though getting "away from it all" and experiencing nature in the deep woods, or a quiet field is very enjoyable, let's not forget that nature often lives and thrives side-by-side with us. I recorded this in my back yard on saturday april 27th, 2013 at 6:45 am and you'll hear the low, but everpresent low rumble of a distant train throughout. But, over and above you hear the incredible variety of calls and sounds made by a family of starlings who seem oblivious to the iron horse and the occasional car. We had rain the night before, so every now and then you hear a loud "plop" as a breeze cuts loose fat rain-drop and it hits the foam wind-screen on my h4n. Starting at around 3:47 and running to 4:08 a cardinal makes a strong appearance. I made this recording using my zoom h4n recorder, using it's internal built-in stereo microphones, with the recording gain on 81, out of 100. Enjoy!.

This is a sound of a pepsi bottle being opened. I guess the strange skin-twisting sounds was the skin on the hands that where holding the bottle and the bottle-cap while twisting. This made for an amazing futuristic machinery sound.

Two small blades sliding over each other. The sound is made by using two small kitchen knifes however, try pitching it down to -12 semitones and further for a sword-like sound. The noise of the recording is gated so it still comes through a little on the decay.

One snare out of a bunch of custom snares made by me, combined samples, multi-band compressed and hit to tape. Custom to the point that i layered and re-sampled, layered and resampled. So much mangling and layering and resampling that its impossible to tell you the source to these snares.

July 2013, rcording from setup pc in greenhouse. Extreme rain changing to hail (25 mm diamter)for a couple of minutes, then rain again. Last bit of recording is sound from pc fan. Did not cut it off, wanted to let listeners understand that i made a temporary installation in the greenhouse for capturing the immense noise.

Ian dury used something like this in "what a waste". . . It's the gurgling noise made when the last of the water runs down a bathroom sink plughole. Conveys almost as much meaning as a cistern flushing, but in a shorter time (smaller file size). As ever (with my stuff) no "noises off" and so ready for mixing!.

Another drum track i made for a friend to jam with using the the real drum sounds in fruityloops. Its a 6 bar loop comprising of a beat with hats and the with ride and back to the hats again. Originally it was programmed at 55 bpm but sounds better at 90 or so.

Nearly three minutes of blackbird song. This file has been condensed (the time between song phrases is shorter than the natural interval). I have made every attempt to screen out other background noise (including painstakingly removing the song of most other birds) recorded in la drova (spain) and so this bird will have a spanish accent!.

I was fiddling around with an analog synth that went into a peavey km50 keyboard amp and i made this soundit has loads of pitch editing giving it the house-ey feel to it and i think it was an fmaj5/9 chord with extra 6ths and 4ths.

Recording of myself playing a home-made instrument constructed from a large suspended metal door affixed with bits of thin aluminum sheeting of varying sizes and bent at varying angles. I "played" this by striking and plucking the bits of aluminum and recording the results through a piezo contact mic adhered to the door.

This was made with kontact and a korg ea-1, mixed with a behringer mixer with light dirt and overdrive. Sampled into an mpc. Left and right are separate channels processed differently. So each sample is actually 2 different sample, 3 if you combine them. 44. 1k, 16-bit.

Recorded under a bridge with fast driving cars above, rain is dripping. The cars hits a gap on the bridge parts, so there is a typical sound of cards entering a modern bridge made of concrete. Recode with a tascam im2 and iphone, i believe.
