1,924 Royalty-Free Audio Tracks for "Key"

Effect-free recording of myself reading from 'on the development and distribution of primitive locks and keys' by pitt-rivers. Text from project gutenberg, in the public domain.

A sequence of percussive cd skipping noises made in to a techno glitchcore rhythm. This is a hard rhythm not micro-beats. There is a splash of synth in there and possibly a key change.

A nice rhythm loop to jam or sing with. Key of aminor (f and g). Ibenez acoustic, brand new elixer strings and recorded with acer laptop native mics.

Typing on an apple keyboard. Recorded with my iphone up close and added some noise reduction. Hope that works for you.

A three note bass line with noise. Principle notes are c, d#, f#. This means it doesn't easily fit in a major or minor key, but it would work in something largely in c minor or f# minor. This sample has a tale that fades out.

Recorded with a sennheiser mkh 416 into a tascam dr-100 mkii.

This is just a stretch of a small fire crackling. There are a few extraneous noises in there (some sniffling, distant car going by, light footsteps, keys, camera noises, and some birds), i just provided the full file so you could edit and use which portions work best for you.

This is a chord loop at 74 bpm it bounces back and forth between b minor and a major (key of a major). This sound was recorded using propellerhead reason 7. 1 via a motu 828 mkiii on 7/12/2014 the synth used is my korg polysix. Enjoy.

This sound i created in 2019 for one of the projects for the appearance of the text. Sound was created in fl studio.

It's me saying some words. I've recorded my speech and then used ardour's (http://ardour. Org) looping funtionality (which have proven to be rock-solid) to perform theese glitches. I used my mouse to select random ranges in the session, then used the "]" key to set tre selected region as a loop range. And also used "l" key to start looping if i accidentaly clicked on the playhead (which makes it stop playing). I also used space bar to break the loop into normal playback. There was a limiter in ardour. Recorded the performace using jack_capture cli program. I cut out some silence using audacity and converted the recording to flac.

I put this recording through a 'pitch looper' a program called cecilia, really cool program if you want to produce something similiar. The original recording i've also uploaded separately was taken with a rode nt4 mic and with a didge of mine in the key of b from northern queensland (kuranda).

I recorded using a zoom h6 with a xy mic and foam screen and handheld. I placed the mic above the keyboards and typed. I started typing at a slow pace and then fast. The first sounds are on a wireless key board and the second were on a laptop keyboard. Recorded for a school project for a sfx library.

A small clip of an improvised, uplifting piano song. Could probably be looped if desired. Key of c major. Played on a kimball upright piano (which is slightly out-of-tune) and recorded with a tascam dr-40x on top of the closed upright cabinet.

Wasn't going to upload this, but it was pointed out to me that it sounds like the intro to a song in a minor key. Not sure i see that, but the suggestion is that some composer will seize on it as an opening to an instrumental that fits it. I want to see if that will happen. If that's not practical, i feel sure someone will find a use for it.

Back in 2015 i have rendered this loop to show my mates how effective ableton's vocal eq presets actually are. I encourage you to try them yourself as well. (not sure about sample key, 150 bpm).

This was a recording of me just walking up to my door. I hit my parent's car with my cane, and you can hear sounds of me pulling out my key as i approach the door. Planes are also descending overhead.

This recording was taken with a rode nt4 mic and with a didge of mine in the key of b from northern queensland (kuranda). I have a tiled square enclosed shower so the reverberation is crazy, have a listen to my other recording with the same didge and mic (titled didge. Wav) but in an open room for comparison.

Chord progression played on a kurzweil 2500rs synthesizer in a-minor key. The mood is dreamlike, melancholic and nostalgic. The instrument is a mix of piano and strings and ends with a long reverb tail. Could fit a soundtrack or an ambient track.

I decided to tinker around on an old kid's practice first act piano. There are metal rods inside that are struck, and produce a plink/ringing sound. It is also out of tune, which makes it wonderful for producing an eerie feeling when played in a minor key.

Chords in e minor played on two virtual cinematic pads in music maker. Sounds good with drum and bass loops at 80bpm.

Created this by saying something like, "testing the mic" in ableton, right clicking and converting that audio. Midi > into melody. . Then adding some stock sound and some reverbs and what not. . Try it yourself.

This sound came from a sample pack called "pianoroom vol. 1". It's contain a hundred samples from a record session i did of my piano.

A small, mechanical music box plays, slows down and stops. Synthesized sound with stereo light reverb effect. Duration 0'52". Three turns of a wooden boxed clockwork mechanical key followed by a bright, nonsensical music box tune. As the tune plays, the tempo slows down - gradually at first but becoming profoundly slower towards the end. Tune ends on a melancholic note mid phrase. Could be used as a standalone effect, or perhaps metaphorically as a cipher for the aging process and cessation of life. The clockwork key effect is a rapidly repeating single mechanical clock tick filtered to sound box-like. The sound of the music box tines was created with ni fm8 using four sinewave oscillators, one of which feeds back on itself to produce a hint of metallic ringing.

Any thursday. . . It was about 1:00 am and i got my handy recorder zoom h4n with me. Then i realized i found very few sounds here at freesound. Org of steps for videogames. . . So i decided to record some. They have "so much personality", with keys in the pockets (you can notice them on the run), a dog barking when i run, and the sound of the street at night. It may not be 100% clean (for example, wind affects a little to the beggining of the run), but i think it's enough to emulate a videogame in a short film or something. I turn around once when dog is barking, you can notice the bark panning from left to right channel.
