Walk glass crunch scuff - this recording was made in probably 1998 using a senheiser 416 onto dat tape, it was recorded on set at a night club in thailand for a film called "a hero never dies " i was operating the dat and directed by the foley artist who was actually the director of the film a certain mr johnny to. He made all 20 or 30 people on set hush up for this. A great memory for me shared in perpetuity.

Took some foley i had and stretched a few times using ableton's texture setting, with flux parameter turned to zero. Could be good for an experimental song, or a horror film. This sound is in open domain, use it freely without need for retribution or credit.

Ok so most of these tracks in this pack have either been recorded whilst i have been on set so the names are reflective of the time and character location of the film it was originally recorded for. Recorded with a sennheiser mkh 416t, sqn 4s series ive mixer and tascam dr-680 pcm recorder.

Recorded with zoom h2 at 96 khz / 24-bit. Edited and converted to flac using audacity, otherwise unprocessed. Midway through recording i have lowered my gain setting from hi to mid to avoid clipping. Some background noise (fridge) is left in for noise removal. I prefer to get raw audio from freesound i can process myself - gives me maximum options, that's why i deliver the same. Because someone didn't think to add water or something in it while they were on set filming the bloody thing. Recorded on a small olympus device, set next to an open sleeve of stale saltines. You can hear her in the plastic packaging grabbing mouthfuls and chewing the crackers all up. She dips into the sleeve of crackers 3 or 4 times in this recording and smacks her chops after eating it all. Sorry about her collar chiming as dog's tags tend to, i just had to record that big mouthed crunch. I've removed the loud plastic rustling sounds, to focus more on the crunching sounds as she munches on snack crackers. Great for dog food or puppy chow commercials or for a film of a beast eating at charred crispy remains. This sound is modeled after the inception movie's large horn blast. It is a low multi-voiced saw wave with a specific ring modulation setting to give it it's effect. This sound is rendered as a 44100 sample rate 16 bit wav file. Made with native instrument's massive inside ableton live 9.

Circle of 5ths loop compiled on a 2015 macbook pro using field recordings. Tempo / time sig:24 bars of 3/4 timing with each bar lasting 2. 5s. Or 12 sets of 6/8 at 5s per bar with a total length of 60s. Filters:hipass pumped at 60hz, -5db. Lopass pumped at 1200hz at -6db. Delay set to 0. 05s at 600hz with a 60% wet mix. Arranged with the tonic 5th as a constant with the last (fifth) 5th in the circle, starting and ending with the tonic. Second 5th enters in 5s, third in 15s and the fourth in 25s as the fifth stops. The fifth 5th begins to fade back in after 10s of silence, which begins the process of the second, third and fourth fading out in that order. The fifth 5th is at full volume as the loop turns, as is the tonic. The mood changes noticeably as each consecutive 5th begins, and changes again as the following 5th joins the loop.

Just a quick recording before class today. Recorded from a tascam dr-07 mk ii stereo in mp3 192 kbps 48,000 hz, pointed a bit to the sky toward a florida mockingbird about 2 meters away. If you listen closely enough, there's some crows in the bg too. Ambiance sound is the sound of a busy divided highway about 500 meters away. I processed this sound in sony sound forge a bit to remove some of it. Just beware, the sound file contains a slight camera double beep at 9 and 15 seconds, although for student film purposes i don't see any penalty for it.
