Been fairly busy lately, but, finally i'm glad to be able to get around to posting some more wonderful, enjoyable nature sounds. This is a hot-humid july ambiance recorded at midday in the shawnee national forest in illinois. The predominant bird you hear is an eastern towhee. His call literally sounds like he is thirsty and tired of the heat of summer!this woods recording has the feel of slow motion summer, but still with the exciting and subtle knowledge that, things are starting to give way to autumn, and indoor schedules and long shadows. . Recorded thursday july 21, 2022. Equipment: zoom f3 and lom usi pro microphones. Recording in deep hardwood forest containing many hickory trees, beech trees and a lot of oak trees. A magical place.

Originally made for the disquiet junto project 0433: "kit bits: create a kit’s worth of percussion samples. ". I used 1. Recordings with a telephone coil microphone recording sounds from an external blu ray drive and a smartphone (telephone coil recorded via behringer xenyx q1202 usb mixer, line-in) and 2. Random recordings from a soma ether device (recorded with zoom h1n, line-in). In these recordings i picked up those areas which i though to be useful for a drum kit, just as i would do it for myself. This track contains all samples in no special order in one file. All samples my own, released into cc0 public domain. Would be nice to hear if someone does something with it. A semi-rare and priceless recording (at least to me) of a whippoorwill; a bird who, unfortunately, is declining in many areas of the country. This recording contains more hiss than many of my existing nature recordings, but i still want to post it so you can get sample of this wonderful signature sound of summer woods at dusk. Recording made in the shawnee national forest in late may of 2010 using my zoom h4n recorder. I used an audio technica at8035. I was trying out this microphone. This particular microphone does have a narrow acceptance angle, which is probably 1 reason for the hissiness. Still, go out in the summer woods around dusk sometime and maybe you will get lucky and hear this beautiful little bird whose distinctive calls have livened up the woods for generations of many youngsters – including me!.

This clip was made because i was looking for a strong thunderstorm sound effect for a school play. I wasn't able to find one that was strong enough for what i wanted, so this. Mp3 was made in audacity from three other audio files from freesound - they are #s 27247, 2521, and 87472. This information is also in the 'comment' metadata of the mp3 file. As far as i can tell, this is the "strongest" storm available on freesound as of early february 2010. (i could be wrong of course!). If there is interest, i can upload an uncompressed aif of the audacity track (it'll take awhile) but i figured there was no point since 2/3rds of the files used were originally mp3's from here. Hope this helps someone looking for a long, strong storm with high winds, loud rain, and many thunderbolts! (the thunderbolts are duplicated throughout the file; the original file contained a much more natural and less angry storm).

Snippets from recordings of me playing the tanpura. Tuned to c sharp, the notes from top to bottom are g sharp, a sharp, c sharp, low c sharp. In traditional indian tuning the c sharp is the root note (first note in the scale) and referred to as sa. The fifth note (g sharp in this scale) is referred to as pa and the sixth note (a sharp) is dha. The pack contains recordings of the more traditional pa-sa-sa-sa type rythmns, as well as some experimenting with short bass lines, riffs and slap bass drones!. Before you say "a tanpura should not be played in such a way" please be comforted by the fact that this is not a traditional tanpura (and will never sound or be able to be played exactly like a traditional tanpura) it is part of the swar sangam, which combines the four drone strings of the tanpura with 15 harp strings. I am only playing the tanpura part in these recordings.

Here is a simple yet usefull reel for your morphagene. I sampled various noise source from various modules to be used into my shared system, as this instrument does not contain any classic one. This reel is arranged like this:splice 1 : left = white noise / right = pink noisesplice 2: left = metallic noise / right = digital noisesplice 3 : left = tuned noise 1 / right = tuned noise 2splice 4 : left = tuned noise 2 / right = tuned noise 3splice 5 : left = tuned noise 4 / right = tuned noise 5splice 6 : left = tuned noise 6 / right = tuned noise 7splice 7 : left = downsampling noise sweep / right = fluctuating random noise sweep. Most sound comes from the verbos electronics random sampling module. The tuned noises are made of white noise fming the verbos harmonic oscillator, each are one of the eights harmonics being recorded. Enjoy !.

Just a quick recording before class today. Recorded from a tascam dr-07 mk ii stereo in mp3 192 kbps 48,000 hz, pointed a bit to the sky toward a florida mockingbird about 2 meters away. If you listen closely enough, there's some crows in the bg too. Ambiance sound is the sound of a busy divided highway about 500 meters away. I processed this sound in sony sound forge a bit to remove some of it. Just beware, the sound file contains a slight camera double beep at 9 and 15 seconds, although for student film purposes i don't see any penalty for it. There's also some slight wind noise in the beginning since my clean foot sock didn't cover all of it, but same mind set as above, won't be too big a deal. Here's a video. Http://www. Youtube. Used the 'abstract hip hop kit' samples that come with reason's soundbank. First part of loop is dry with no effects except eq, second part is more processed. First half is dry in that no extra effects apart from eq are used; second part of the loop is actually two copies of the same loop with one of them containing extreme compression after some unison (detuning) and ~30ms delay. A water faucet set to drip in a chaotic manner, without much regularity. I put a plastic container lid under that for sound to be more pronounced, but that added crunchiness and now it doesn’t resemble dripping as much. Recorded with redmi note 5 phone, denoised in audacity plus filtered bass out a bit. P. S. I need to say that i foolishly recorded it into an im app and the recording ended up as. Ogg, so it’s not as good as could be. Still i hope there is enough spectral richness left. I should have used a dedicated recording app which writes. Flac files, i just hadn’t thought. The fully mono-compatible signal simulates space withoutreverberation by using random, non-recursive filter techniques. The mode switch (found on the hardware unit) controls the overall sound of the generation ii. In the music position, the full audio bandwidth of the input signal is simulated. In the music & voice position, the input signal is sent through a band-reject filter prior togetting sent to the simulator circuits. This audio contains a guitar performance of lily was here song. It was recorded using a fender player telecaster guitar and yamaha audio gram 6 audio interface as recording set up. Tempo: 108. The setup to record this performance and the other ones in the same dataset (five guitar dataset) is explained here: the setup used a yamaha audio gram 6 audio interface and reaper 10 to record guitar from direct input (di), a huawei p30 lite model mar-lx1a to record guitar from a mobile and a dell inspiron 13 5000 to record guitar from a computer. To record acoustic guitar in di, i used a fishman neo d single coin on larrivée and seymour duncan seth love on the eastman connected to a nap-5 stageman floor acoustic preamp going then to the audio interface. The computer and mobile were positioned approximately 3. 8 cm from the player position (measured from the twelve fret of the guitars). The electric guitars were plugged into a dv mark little jazz guitar amp which has a di output, that was connected to the audio interface. The amp was located at a distance of 114. 5 cm from the mobile and the computer.

Note: This is only the Prelude in E-flat minor. This recording does not include the corresponding fugue, which is (oddly) in D-sharp minor. Only processing: gentle eq highpass at 95 hz. And some slight gain reduction. These sounds remind me somehow of creepy film scores where the strings do that erratic pizzicato thing that sends tingles up your spine. Tell me what you come up with, i'd love to know!!.

This is a recording of myself sleeping, beginning ~ 1:00 am local time (~ 3hrs after going to bed) on january 10th, 2020 (which i later discovered was a full moon). I was in the midst of experimenting with recording myself all night long out of curiosity, using a laptop placed near the head of my bed. This particular recording was the only anomalous one (the rest consisting mostly of just breathing or snoring with occasional sleep-talking). This ~2 hour recording has several interesting properties, which make it hard for me to believe that these sounds were actually going on while i was sleeping. On the other hand, i don't have a memory of editing this file if i did. Either way, i find it unsettling. I found the file in oct 2021 while organizing my samples. As far as i can remember, this is the original raw recording. On further inspection, i discovered that it has some additional peculiar properties that make it even harder to believe i could have made it without remembering doing so. The audio spans almost exactly 118min (7080s). There’s a frequency sweep with a cycle-length of 6480ms that repeats throughout the entire recording. Dividing the 118min by 6. 48min (60 cycles) results in 18 parts containing exactly 60 cycles and a remainder of 12 cycles.
