Waves in the baltic sea. I put off my shoes and went a couple of steps in to the water and recorded the sound of waves around me. It was summer evening. Ambisonics recording made with zoom h3vr (ambix format).

This is the sound of the robot turtlebot from the ubica lab research group from the universitat pompeu fabra moving around the lab. This robot is able to take inventory of a shop without the need of any prior knowledge and with the minimal set of resources.

Full siren test (with a couple of gaps) including the announcement for each siren and two separate sirens. There's a perfect delay as the sound bounces around the city creating an almost digital sounding delay effect for the announcement and reverb for the sirens.

Walk around otari-wilton bush reserve in wellington, new zealand. Sunny day, lots of circadas, birds and sounds of stream. Plane overhead, some footsteps and other people on tracks. The reserve is about 100 hectares of native bush on the edge of wellington.

A nice ambient recording made on sunday morning may 5th 2013 around 6:30 in the morning in the shawnee national forest in deep southern illinois. I had originally wanted to get good, clear recordings of the tremendous numbers of warblers that are here, but a good, soaking steady light rain decided to stick around. I though, what the heck, that is a part of our natural world also, so let's get it all "on tape". . . . Hope you enjoy this. To keep as much water off of my h4n as possible, i put one of my big, furry, knitted insulated sock-cap over the recorder, that at least kept my recorder from swimming in water.

Recently we purchased a scale from ikea, when we finally got around to using it we realized that it must be off, as i do not weigh 240 lbs. As we did not have a receipt, or the desire to drive 2 hours to return a $10 scale the only course of action left to me was to take the damn thing apart and record its insides. (what else?). I recorded and edited together around 7 and a half minutes of various configurations and performances of me making some sort of repetitive, engine-like sound. I can foresee myself using these sounds for an old-timey engine or car. Recorded with a rode ntg-3 at 96/24.

This recording was taken from the balcony of an apartment in johor bahru malaysia on september 30th 2022 at about 1:30pm. It was monsoon season but not raining and the weather was hazy and muggy. The recording features the drone of a busy city punctuated by a whippersnipper, a building site, birds, a light aeroplane and car horns. At around the 4:30 mark there's two loud motorcycles that race each other and echo around the city in a most glorious way. The recording was made with the inbuilt stereo microphones of a zoom h5 portable recorder.

A recording made in sedona, arizona on february 14, 2014, utilizing a zoom h4n field recorder. The recording was taken at night, around 11 pm, and is at a 45 degree angle, toward the sound source. The sound source is a flowing fountain at a resort.

I just tested the recently released plugin moscillator (by meldaproduction) and fiddled around with the parameters. It's always the same fundamental. But i automated the parameters for the harmonic's post-processor (sharpen, clean, harmonize, noise, compress). In the end i just put a reverb (eareverb [preset: "under the city"], 100% wet) after the oscillator.

Striking a silver goblet then making it sing by rolling a wooden dowel around its edge. The first part is the top of the goblet (lower pitch) and the 2nd part is the bottom base (higher pitch). Followed by various strikes and rolls. Microphone: iphone 3g.

I was fiddling around with an analog synth that went into a peavey km50 keyboard amp and i made this soundit has loads of pitch editing giving it the house-ey feel to it and i think it was an fmaj5/9 chord with extra 6ths and 4ths.

Extended recording of myself stomping around in iced-over snow after a storm. Featured sounds are footprints breaking through ice and crunching in the snow underneath, icicles being scraped across the icy snow surface, and bits of ice being thrown across the ice-covered snow surface and skittering away.

The sound of a homemade uncoated piezo-contact mic being rubbed against a giant fan. Sounds kind of creepy and weird, and the rubber around the edge of the mic caused it to bounce and make a bouncy kind of sound. Neat! zoom h4n.

I was just messing around with audacity recently and recorded a word "no". Then stretched it out using tempo stretch function (function that streches speed, but does not alter the pitch) maxed out twice in a row. That resulted in such a simple word stretched out to almost 5 minutes. Sounds rather scary and interesting.

I was on my way to a meeting a few doors down from this intersection and there was some nice sounds happening, it's in the late morning and so people are hard at work and moving around and doing their thing. There's some cool door chimes, trucks, traffic, random conversations, etc.

I recorded this for a pinball game i worked on. It's multiple sounds of a marble being dropped onto a hard table and rolling around. It's meant to simulate the sound of a pinball being put into play on a pinball table. Enjoy!.
