This lovely little toy piano has been a member of my parent’s home since before i can remember. These days it falls under the jurisdiction of my 4-year old niece, who was ever so kind as to allow me to record it!. It has a fabulous tinkling and out-of-tune carnival sort of sound, and i wanted to capture that before the piano was destroyed altogether. My small dog was running around outside and got pretty hot. When i brought her in, she began lapping up water at a fast pace. She's also a little sniffly so it got some nice sniffle noises in there too. I feel like this could work well for plenty of different character shots, from a monster, to a comedy-type shot of someone eating something like noodles, to a dog drinking water in an animation. Org. I imported that file to my ableton live. I reverse the sample and shorten a little. From the sample window i changed flux and grain values to bring out uneasy tones in front. I did make two other copies of the sample and played them all in same sequence, with slight different transpose values. With this module you can cv control the attack and decay. As oscillator i use intellijel μvcf in self-oscillation mode. I fm-modulate this filter/oscillator with a tone from uoki-toki polivoks vcf. The semi random trigger is really two triggers connected to an or gate. Pitch is from analogue systems rs-40 (sample/hold and noise). I can listen to this for a looong time. Retro sound.

Some spooky music i made in garageband for a thing called victors crypt!. It's a wailing electric guitar with some organs in the back creating a scary sound. It's a lot of reverb, echo and delay on it. I think of a creepy crypt with blood on floor and walls. Like something really bad just happens. . . . Did this in garageband for a thing called victors crypt. Had this beat in my head that i just had to do something with. After i put down the drums i added sounds with synthesizers to build it up and make it a bit mysterious. I also added a flute in the middle as a break before it continues again. I think i used stereo mics that came with my h5. Recorded on top of a parking garage right next to the airport. I caught this great sound early in the morning before city traffic could get busy enough to ruin the recording. Enhanced with ozone 6 and removed some bassy wind noise with rx5.
