This replica of my tinnitus was created using the free program called audacity. Http://audacityteam. Org/i had to generate 3 different 'tones' and combine them before i felt the high-ish noise was close to what i hear. I then had to search freesound for something that i only hear beneath the high pitch noise when my house is very quiet, which is something like the sound of strong wind outside a closed window or a power station a mile away. Blume/sounds/167684/#commentsthis natural wind sound file was equalized and leveled several times, then the sound level was reduced to blend with the high pitch. But it still wasn't right. So, not being an expert with audacity, i just went down the list of 'effects', trying each one, until i found "paulstretch", which somehow increases the time length of your sound file, without stretching as in 'elastic', which would deepen the existing tones, and apparently, without copying and pasting. The sound does change somewhat, becoming just slightly ragged, but it's a very interesting effect for this application and actually got used on both elements to produce the final sound. . I hope no one enjoys this sound and can't imagine that anyone will. It makes me feel slightly sick. . Info edited 28 oct 2021: with my tinnitus at it's current level, i will never, now, be able to reproduce it again, primarily because i can't hear any sounds i create in a detailed way. And secondly, because hearing this version of the sound these days is just too uncomfortable. 🥲.

Electro-magnetic interference from the colorino talking color identifier and light probe when held near the internal ferrite antenna on the back right of a 13-year-old boombox near the bottom of the am broadcast band, from 530 to 580 khz. You first hear the device inactive being brought near the radio. This gives a low buzz of stacato clicks. At about 00:23 the light probe button is briefly pushed, you hear a quick boop of the light probe with low light level combined with the beginning of the white noise of the device active. If you put your ear near it after you use it, you will hear a slight hiss from the audio amplifier carrier idling for about a minute after last use. On the am radio this translates to white noise. At 00:26 there is a double click and a distorted voice says black. The voice is being picked up by the am radio. 10 seconds of white noise and i press the color button again and it says black. I put something else over the color sensor and it says a few more things. At 00:51 i hold down the light probe button and try to point it at the light above my desk while still holding it close enough to the radio to pick up the emi signal. You hear a warbling tone at 00:59 as the light reaching the sensor increases and decreases in brightness depending on how it's pointed. The signal fades in and out as the device is moved around. This has all happened at 530 khz. At 01:37 i step the radio up to 580 khz where you get a stronger signal. Wibw from topeka competes with the noise throughout the rest of the file. At 01:51 you hear the distorted error beep as i press the color button without anything but air and light in front of the color sensor. It must be pressed up against the thing you want the color of, or it gets in too much ambient light and errors out with a loud protesting beep.

New zealand native bellbird (korimako). Recorded on kapiti island, a bird sanctuary on the west coast of the north island, nz. Recording was made at some feeder stations set up for the native stitchbird (hihi) but it seems that the bellbird was the predominant species on the day. This is in a light forest setting with a large number of birds moving around calling.

Noises from an old gdr tube radio (1966, oberon) when tuning through mw, lw and ukw bands. I tried to separate the different noises and let them be heard for a few seconds so you can edit the noises you need. First there's lw, then mw then a few noises from buttons on the radio then ukw at the end with fragments of some german radio stations in 2021.

Using a variety of 1980s radios connected via a headphone output to the computer, i tuned in - across the entire bandwidth - of the mw and lw channels. I also captured the static hiss of those bands, 'dead air'. It's recording of a passenger train's on duty. You can hear the train's motors, the wheels rumbling against the rails, the wagon connectors hitting each other, when the train stops also people chatting. Near the end of the recording the room acoustics change, because a woman entered the area between wagons where i was standing with my recorded pointed down. I was standing in a narrow passage, where two wagons were joined, between two closed slide-doors. She have opened those so the overall sound has radically changed and i decided to end the recording. Through the entire recording the unit is moving forward, decelerating, stopping, staring and accelerating again repeatedly as it travels stopping at several stations. The recording was done with a hand-held zoom h2. Rear mics used pointed to the ground. I was in the loudest area in the whole train. I was using "low" gain (h2 has three mic gain levels to choose from: l/m/h). Viewed and converted to flac using audacity, the file hasn't been altered in any other way. An actual new production instead of old stuff! made in june of 2020. A dark intro implies the humming engines of the spaceship you're in as you're traveling at speeds unimaginable. Slowly the ship starts to spring to life. As you open your eyes, slow but huge bands of light sweeps across your cryogenic sleeping pod, as if being scanned. The pod starts to move while you're still in it, going through chambers filled with machinery and bleeping computer stations, until it stops in front of a huge closed door. Suddenly, your pod opens up as well as the door. Your eyes are greeted with the majestic sight of a gigantic control room with windows as far as the eyes can see, galaxies fills your field of view, a beautiful synergetic view of the grandeur of space and the hundreds of lights of the control room, welcoming you to a new adventure. 2 simple chords form the basis of a textural composition supplied with sound effects. Plugins used: ni kontakt 5 with atom hub's the planet, doom by sampletraxx, space by rigid audio, ni absynth, and massive vst synths. Extra sound effects: shocking signal and ui designer by sampletraxx, heavily sampled and mangled.
