Unknown local qrm in qth jn79ek. Frequency 3522 khz, day time. Strength: s9+20 db in peaks. It looks like a terrible spark-telegraph. . . Any traffic is impossible during this qrm.
A diesel train flushing out the condensation from a particular valve, as i am told. Sounds like electricity sparking or something. It was quite loud, my gain was set extremely low, enough that i didn't pick up any of the road traffic with cars passing a few feet behind me. Here's a sound bite of me setting off a morning glory firework (essentially a sparkler, for the unaware). It almost sounds like a fuse going off if you ask me. Could be good for a fuse sound for a project. Recorded with a zoom h4n.

This is a tesla coil high voltage discharge. For the technical it was made with a coil that uses a rotary spark gap giving a different sound to the high-voltage-discharge-1 clip that has more of a 'sizzle' to it. Recorded at a display i did at nottingham in 2013.
Opening a zippo lighter, lighting it, and closing the lid. Separated into separate actions, removed a low-frequency rumble from some of the sounds. Recorded in a small shed, zoom h2.

Flanged loop effect for a high voltage device of unknown origin. Meant to be layered with sparks, sizzles, the bluuue light, etc. Vibrotron_1 is what the machine sounds like on standby. Do not get too close. Vibrotron_2 is what the machine sounds like after you get too close.

Raw recording of the fireplace with some logs burning and crackling. Unfortunately the metal making up the insert was expanding and contracting, and some of those noises are present as well. Possibly useful as some ambience. Recorded on a zoom handy h4n recorder using the built-in microphones with directivity of 90°.
It's a recording of a firework candle going off. The candle bursts near the end of the recording, before burning out. Recorded with zoom h2's rear mics at 96khz/24bit on a mic stand. Denoised, normalized, truncated and converted to 16-bit flac using audacity.
