Here is another recording i made using my brand new mic. This is a bit of grocery store ambiance, including people talking and the beeps of the cash registers as the items are being scanned. Recorded with a new rode microphone connected to my sony recorder. Hope you enjoy.

I was walking along a busy street in a city, cars and trams passing by, then i entered a tram, rode one stop and exited the tram again. Zoom h1, 48/16.

Digging into mud: using a shovel to dig into muddy ground, flattening the ground with the shovel. Recorded with a zoom h6 (rode ntg-2). Recorded in a room with good acoustic. It can be used for a scenario where someone is digging a hole, working in the garden.

Chewing: this sound is purposefully exaggerated to enhance the disturbing feeling of a person eating too loud and with an open mouth. You can hear every crunch and saliva pulling between the lips. Recorded with the zoom h6, rode ntg in a sound studio. Specifically created to enhance irritation.

Clipping nails: you can hear the subtle click of a nail-clipper cutting down nails. A few options are available in track and they vary in duration, tempo and amplitude. Recorded with the zoom h6, rode ntg in a sound studio. Can be used in any make-over montage.

Owl hooting: you can hear a very distinct owl sound created through foley by lowing air into folded hand. An almost glissando of pitch is present to create a realistic feel. Recorded with the zoom h6, rode ntg. Great for a night-time scene and to fill up atmosphere an ambiences.

Finger snap: in the sound a crisp finger snap is heard with multiple snaps in the sound. Some snaps occur simultaneously. Recorded using the zoomh4n and using the rode ntg1 condenser shotgun microphone. No processing was done to this sound. The fingers used to create the snaps were those of a female.

Open and closing a hamster cage: from the the sound you could't think this is a hamster cage. It sounds like a metal cage opening and closing a few times. Recorded using the zoomh4n and the rode ntg1 condenser shotgun microphone. No processing was done to this sound.

18 people applauding. Recorded on a marantz pmd 661, 6 september 2019, with a rode nt4. Recording level okay, but the waveform is sometimes clipped due to the loud clapping overloading the pmd661’s input amp. The input attenuation for the pmd661 should have been set to -6db (or -12db).

Once july hits in the midwest and the temperature and humidity climbs, the insects take over the sound symphony. This mesmerizing sound was recorded on friday july 17th, 2015 at ferne clyffe state park in johnson county illinois. I recorded this using a marantz pmd661 and rode ntg-2 shotgun microphone. .

This is a stereo recording of two cats eating wet food and dry food from the same bowl. It was recorded with a pair of rode nt-5s. I added reverb so they're in a cave. There is a version without reverb also.

By mid-september a lot of the migrant songbirds have left southern illinois, along with their songs. But, the insects and their choruses abound. Cat eating: here you can hear a cat eating out of a metal bowl. The sound of crunching is evident and also the slush of saliva when swallowing. Recorded with the zoom h6, rode ntg and by using an actual cat. This sound is great to add realism to any soundscape.
