A construction site for a sky-scraper, recorded across the road from a nearby park on a zoom h5 set to xy. Some traffic, and general construction sounds with some announcements from the site on a megaphone.

I recently contributed a track to a triple lp set of krautrock cover versions ("head music 2", released by fruits de mer records, december 2020). The song i chose to cover was kraftwerk's "autobahn". If you know the track, you'll know that it uses synthesised traffic sounds alongside recordings of the same. On my version, i achieved these in three ways:. 1) i downloaded some public domain traffic sound effects from elsewhere here on freesound. Org (thanks, guys!). 2) i got in my car with my zoom recorder and made my own recordings of the engine starting, stopping, etc. 3) i made my own sound effects using virtual synths and effects in ableton live 10. This particular sound falls into the third category. Let me stress that while the song "autobahn" is copyrighted, these are isolated sound effects and are not covered by copyright. I'm making them available here under a public domain licence. If you download and use any of these samples, please let me know in the comments what you did with them. It's not compulsory but it would be interesting to know what people did with these sounds.

South ranchito is a small community located outside odessa, tx. It is surrounded by oil fields, oil refineries, and processing plants. The recording was captured at the intersection of south atwood ave and w farm to market road 3503. Recording tools - zoom h4n pro.

Listen carefully. It's a small volume of sound. An early bird (at around 5 a. M. ) resting on an electricity cable outside my apartment did a dropping on the surface of the road. It's a tiny sound but surprising enough for me. Seemingly i recorded this at unnecessarily high resolution rate.

I needed a sound of cows chewing. So i went driving around in the countryside and found some cows close to a road that were eating in a trough. I put my mic close to them while they munched away. Sometimes they licked the microphone i was so close!.

This recording was made using roland cs-10em binaural microphones and a zoom h1. It is a journey on the london underground, starting at king's cross platform 9 and finishing in buckingham palace road outside victoria station. There was industrial action going on at the time and you can hear announcements to that effect.

At first you can hear the ambience of a village (middle of june) with distant car road. Than a group of starlings arrive and eat cherries from a tree. At about 7'15" they suddenly depart. There is again some ambience after they have flown away.

In the distance, the sound of a destruction team pulling apart buildings mixes with the phasing sound of the ring-road. Any thursday, 12:00 am more or less. I was sitting down in a bench, looking to the buildings opposite me, with the road at my back. My handy recorder zoom h4n in my hands. Some people was chatting next to a car and then they got inside and they left (you can hear that on the left channel. Got it? "left" channel :d). You can hear people passing from one channel to another, cars and motorbikes. It was in c/ bravo murillo (madrid, spain). In that part, it is a one way street for vehicles, so all of them go from right to left channel.

This sound was recorded while driving down the road on my way to school while it was raining. I was traveling between 0 and 60 miles per hour. So there is a variation in the intensity of the rain falling against my car. As-well you gain a slight acknowledgement to the acceleration of my engine.

Sitting on an outdoor paris cafe terrace some buskers started up across the road. The wind cooperated and i got this nice blend of chatting cafe sounds, passers by walking on the sidewalk, vehicles and a little of the popular desmond/brubek number 'take five' in the background. A very pleasant beer that was.

This was recorded in the interior of a truck stop, somewhere on the road in oklahoma. General store ambiance can be heard throughout, but the real highlight is the electronic door chime that seems to happen intermittently, when someone enters or exits the store.

I recorded one usable minute of passing train, moving slowly through town. I thought the local engine served just one customer, a major metal scrap yard, but the half-dozen box cars on this engine don't fit that model. Considering the overall decrepit condition of american railways, this one isn't bad.
