Then the boom gates go back down and a train, this time on the recorder's platform, arrives. The doors open and the train is boarded. This was recorded in australia.

This high quality recording is of a cargo logistics train leaving the port of fremantle, pulling many, at least 50, sea containers on rail-cars through a railway crossing on a bend, curve of the line. You can hear the signal bell on the drop gate with flashing red lights and the steel rail-car wheels screeching on the curved track.

Waiting for and getting on the 20:46 from kings cross st pancras to finsbury park on the evening of 30th october 2020. Recorded on an iphone 8 using voice record app - unedited. Very quiet platform and very quiet trainincludes platform announcement, train arrival, door beeps and open, train announcement, train departure, 5 minutes of train journey (no voices), arrival at finsbury park, doors open. This is about 2 minutes total. It is of an approaching long freight train passing about 100 yards away in it's entirety. Train was doing around 45 mph. There are no other background sounds, no traffic, no crossing alarms, no street noise, no airplanes, no people, etc. There are three diesel electric locomotives in the front, then about a mile of freight cars, then one diesel electric locomotive "pushing" from the rear (it almost sounds like a jet engine!).
