The lightning occured ~167 meters away from the microphone, calculated from the time lapse between the initial dc spike and the start of audible strike. Clipped quite a bit, had the input slightly too high, but did not expect one to hit so close. A picture hanging on my wall shook violently when this one hit. I was looking for the sound of fabric ripping for a video i am working on and couldn't find anything suitable so i created my own. Three different cloth ripping noises. Two are short and one is a little longer. Recorded with my olympus ls-7.

This is two slabs of concrete , one on top of the other, and scraped together. In this sample i have changed the rate to give it a 'bigger slab' effect. You can also add reverb and play with the rate yourself for more dramatic effect.
