This is a recording of the drive motor of a super 8 (canon 418 auto zoom). This was recorded with the hatch to the cartridge open, so the noise is clearer. There is also the effect noise of the trigger being closed.

Recorded using the built-in mics of a zoom h4npro (2016 edition) @ 24bit. This is a small amount of liquid being poured into a drain about the size of a silver dollar. The original recorded captured the apartment's heating system. I used noise reduction, then normalized the waveform. This sound is free to use whenever and wherever.

Recorded and processed at 24bit 48khz using the tascam dr-40 linear pcm recorder. Processing: gain-staging and soft high and low frequency filtering. No eq boost or cuts anywhere else. Also de-noised.

Included on this reel are 40 splices of static, captured while scanning the vl, vf and uhf bands on an analog television set. Since the u. S. Conversion to digital broadcast signals in 2009, these bands have been providing endless streams of noise for all to enjoy.

Several years back my older brother stumbled upon a bunch of old family reel to reel films and sat down one evening to project them on a wall and digitize them. This is the sound of that process. What you can hear, i imagine, is the noise of the projector in the left channel and the sound of the reels in the right channel. I've been obsessed with the sounds of the infinite variation in old analog hardware. As a sound designer, that infinite variation is often sought after but rarely, or accurately, reproduced through digital files in various libraries. Of if they are, they're often too short to cover whatever scene i am trying to fill. On the surface it's just noise but if you listen closer it's this wonderful cacophony of overlapping and repeating sounds that are always looping but never quite identical on each rotation. It was ripped from youtube using audio hijack at 48khz/16bit, but due to youtube re-encoding things as youtube does, it's nowhere near the source. It's still, in my opinion, a sound worth sharing. I have turned up the bass of this recording of an oscillating fan to give it a "warmer" feel to it. Recorded with sony hdr pj260v then edited using audacity.

Artificial waterfall sound created using audacity. I created two brownian noise tracks and assigned one to the left channel and one to the right for a stereo effect. Using brownian noise means less high frequency noise that is harsh on the ears.

This is a noise i found while listening to a recorded track that i thought sounded interesting, so i worked with it for a bit, eliminated all the extraneous noise, and amplified it to max volume without (unwanted) distortion.

Warning: harsh noise with resonant malefactors. Bad q ! bad q!. Noise sound through analog phase shifter and steiner parker filter through a holtech-based delay. I imagine this as a soundtrack to an ultraviolent horror movie scene.

I switched on and off an old tape recorder. You can hear hum noise like an early synthesizer. The reason why it makes such noise is not sure, but that's the most important part of analog devices. Computer software cannot do that.

After recording someone making a sound like "trrrrrrrrrrrr", i've applied the following effects :1)generate noise (red)2)i've modified the envelope of the noise in order to have it thin, then thick, thin-thick-thin-thick-. . . 3) i've put down the volume of the noise, and put the voice louder. 4) add a few effect with atom splitter audio : distroyr. 5)mix the tracks together.

Some generative campfire sfx made with sunvox. The crackling sounds were made by taking some highpassed white noise, ring modulating it with some more white noise, and then using a noise gate to usilate the loudest 'crackles'. The rumbling was created using lowpassed white noise. Everything was sent into a reverb and a stereo expander.
