An attempt to fill a request for the sound of rummaging through a wooden chest (trunk) filled with wooden toys. . . Tight mic placement for variation. Gear: zoom h6, xyh-6 x/y capsule (120 degree stereo image), rycote windjammer, mounted on a tripod, various wooden toys/items. Please feel free to leave feedback and ratings. I would love to hear how you put the sound to work.
A marimba note being struck while thrown in to the air. Can't remember the mic that was used but it was a condensor mic. This was recorded in my room so unfortunately the signal to ambient noise ratio isn't great. The sound can be used for free (though it would be great to hear about what you do with it). It may not be re-distributed as it is, or as part of a compiled sound library.
I was recording wind that blows in my window, but the zoom h2 placed on a (cheap) mic stand after some time started to bend itself downwards. It hit the curtain/drape in my window and rubbed itself against it until reached the lowest position - the mic stands arm stopped gently as it started. This produced a very interesting sound that i totally didn't expect to find on the recording. Edited with audacity.
Mic set up near the pan while scrambled eggs were cooking. Loopable, this file is 2x. That quarantine mood when you're locked in your house and then ask your housemate, "hey this might sound weird, but can i record you cooking? the sound makes me happy". I dont have a nice mic bc i had to pack up so fast but i have my at2020 which is better than nothing.
This is penny, a 7 year old female black and white cat who was being very affectionate. Recorded her in the bathroom purring and rubbing on the mic. 50 second in, i put the mic up to her chest while purring. Then at 1 and a half mins, i recorded her drinking water out of the sink. Hopefully someone finds good use for her sounds. I can always get more, and her brother as well.
Recording of an apple iwatch ver. 6 using a akg pro audio c411 pp high-performance miniature condenser mic. Recorded on mixpre10t. Using thin double back tape, i taped the back of the mic to the back of the watch. This watch has cell phone option. I think the intermittent burst of static is the cell phone in the watch ranging signal, similar to a full size cell phone pulsing when they range signals. If anyone knows, leave a message.
First phrase of "the minstrel boy" by thomas moore (1779–1852), played on a yamaha plastic alto recorder, and recorded using an akg c414 xls mic and tascam dr70d recorder.
Various sizes of metal tubes struck with a small metal bolt. Recorded with sony ericsson phone mic. Could be used for industrial or tribal percussion etc.
The winding and release of the shutter on on old camera i found. I did the recording from a few different positions around the mic. Don't forget to rate and comment.
Two muted elevator floor bells and doors slide open. Wide ambiance. The weirdness at the beginning is the natural beginning provided when recording with an ipod. Griffin italk mic.
Recorder: zoom r8 built in usb mic. Sound generated by:plastic broom and dustpan drop on wood floor. I wanted to simulate a mop bucket or cleaning supplies being nicked over.
Running water from the overflow sluice used to maintain a constant water level in part of the uk birmingham canal system. Zoom h2 front mic windshield.
Birmingham new street to five ways station on the london midland commuter train. H2 zoom front mic on seat pointing up to catch ambient sound, wind shield.
Machine gun noises. What else do you expect? recorded with a 3$ mic from goodwill with an old airsoft gun thats been sitting outside in the dirt for a year.
Hearing aid type feedback generated by a small radio shack amp & speaker and a cheap mic. Recorded for use in the play "house of blue leaves" by john guare.

This was recorded inside my room with a tonor mic. The keyboard used is a very old lenovo keyboard, but it still sounds pretty decent. Feel free to use this wherever you want.
Medium tape measure drawn out and retracted. Two versions for retraction, slowly and letting go. Recorded on a tascam dr-100mkiii with an audio technica at875r shotgun mic in 24/48 mono.
De-tuned electric guitar noise played through a heavy metal pedal and a small practice amp , recorded with a cheap condenser mic and fussed with a bit.
Several foleys of a metal music stand being manipulated: dragging it on a wooden floor, making it creak, opening and closing its legs. Mic: schoeps c-mit 5.
A large belgian beer goblet favoured for gin and tonic chez moi. Recorded in mono with an akg 414, fredenstein mic amp, rme fireface interface into pro tools.
