This is a kind of dull, soft laser bolt or gun blast. Or perhaps just some sort of impact sound. I thought it was interesting, because what it really is made up of is the sound of me shuffling my cell phone around for a second. How it ended up sounding like this i don't know. But perhaps someone has an application for the use of this sound. Enjoy.

Capoeira mestre calango was nice enough to do a couple of short recordings on the berimbau for me. A berimbau is a one stringed instrument with the string made from the inside liner of a truck tire, it has a claxia(sp?) a shaker with it and is modulated by placing the gourd against the stomach and removing it. Done with hdp2 and two sennheiser mics 66 67, was in 24 bit 96khz, downconverted to 16b at 44. 1, a relatively clean recording at a very high level.

This is one of those sound effects you kind of go "huh?" about when you hear. Let me explain what this is and how i imagine it being used. To me, it sounded like a good sound effect for when a computer (whether in a game or animation or whatever) screen starts writing down text (in other words, when a message is displayed on a screen and is written down one letter at a time until the complete message is shown). There are two versions here. The first one fades out (to be used a single time), and the second one is loopable (so you can loop it to make it last longer). I needed a quick fix for a bomb sound effect, and i think i made this one okay. Honestly, i just went "pkhoooooo" into my laptop mic, bass boosted it, slowed it down, pitched it down, and ran it through a low-pass filter in audacity. This is a great clear and loud recording of a cat purring for an extended period of time with no obtrusive noises in background. Rip pozzo, whom the purr belongs to. He was a very affectionate cat and purred if you so much as stared at him. Happened to catch this sound one night while alone at home with the cat. He was on my lap and my sound equipment happened to be right next to me.

It sounds a lot like someone screaming/roaring into a microphone, but it's actually a roland juno-6 played through various fx pedals (boss metal zone, boss xtortion, boss me-30 on ring mod setting, danelectro fish & chips, and a sprinkling of various other fx pedals throughout the recording). I thought i would do a recording of me listening to truckers on the cb radio while i was seeing if i would pick up anything. Oddly enough this man does not consider himself a baritone, and his speaking voice is not so deep. This was not modified except with noise reduction, because the air conditioning was audible. It just happens to be the deepest sound i've ever heard him make, and he wasn't awake. So it wasn't a moan, or a groan, or a gasp. Please tell me what you think it is. I called it an exhale, and yeah, i don't think grizzlies typically go this low.

This is the 1st sound i uploaded online in like four years. I'm shocked no one uploaded a sound like this prior 2020! it was made using layering of crackling sounds, deep drum for base, chain sound effect, and of course a nice swoosh. The end result is a sound that is very crunchy and powerful. Feel free to use it for commercial use, like video games or movies, no credit is necessary yet is always appreciated. A sound of a tightening wrench (a bike repair kit) being spun around to produce its distinct ratchet like sounds. Foley fun: put to 25% of its rate and you get convincing metallic gear sounds, apply a tiny bit of reverb, maybe layer it with some screeching sounds from other users (or me, your choice) or a slow gate shutter to get a nice mechanical door opening sample.
