A recording in the midwestern forest made on sunday september 27th, 2015 around 3:00pm in early autumn. At this time of the year a lot of the summer neo-tropical migrant songbirds either have left for their winter home, or, are quieting down and preparing to leave. During this transition period in early fall the woods are not as loud as, say, three weeks ago. Even the insects seem subdued. At around 12 seconds into this recording you hear the squeaky call of a tree-frog. Recording made with marantz pmd661 and two sennheiser me-66 microphones mounted on a tripod about 4 feet above the ground.

A recording of an eastern phoebe, made near a creek in a typical midwest oak/hickory/sycamore forest. This very unique, two-note call, which you may have heard before, is, in my opinion, very beautiful despite it's short duration. Despite this bird's non-colorful plumage, his song makes up for it!. Recording made on april 10th, 2013 around 6:45 in the morning about 15 feet from a small creek. My recorder, the zoom h4n, was mounted on a tripod in the middle of the creek. I was using the h4n's built-in microphones. Volume level was 80 (on a scale of 100 being the maximum).

A recording made around 7:30pm at night in mid october of 2012 of leaves skittering across an asphalt street, making that unique, crackly sound. You will also hear a train off in the distance which i think adds to the sound-scape of fall. At 1:51 into the recording a car whooshes buy and with it, a cluster of leaves trailing behind it trying in vain to keep up. . . That's always been a wonderful sound sequence for me to hear. Recorded the sounds with a zoom h1n in my apartment. Snare is a flick with my fingers on a wooden door + added snarebuzz in post production to it, kick is a hit with my hand on the wall produced some nice lows. I had to create an another track for just the transient, but essentially made from the same sound. Hihat is the stove's clicking sound with added reverb. Post production made in ableton live lite with mostly the integrated audio effects, but i also used some free plugins to create this drum loop. I hope you enjoy, it's 100% royalty-free.

A recording made february 24th, 2019 in a residential section of a small midwestern town. . . The stiff north winds are rattling the remaining dry leaves. . . You will also hear the subtle singing of the birds that always greet you in late winter. . . Birds like house sparrows and starlings. From time to time, you'll hear the tinkly, nice sound of some wind-chimes hanging on the front porch of some house. The skittering of dried and old leaves scooting across the ground also makes an appearance. Enjoy this cold late-winter soundscape!. This is a 5 second rendering of the famous 1000hz censoring tone used on tv, movies and broadcasts. It can be cut, looped and used to censor audio that may be sensitive in nature or otherwise not fit for broadcasting. Made the tone using an analog tone/pulse generator fed into a focusrite scarlet 2i4. The sound is very clean (no noise). As this "tone" is fairly easy to reproduce and there is no copyright on it, i'm not going to ask for attribution or anything. Just use it as you see fit whether it'd be commercial or private. I'm doing some ww1 commemorative stuff and couldn't find any marching on freesound. So here's my effort: 25s of medium pace marching on gravel, made from a few freesound samples mixed and retimed to match the pace. It's a very bright, close-mic sound, with wide stereo spread. It should loop seamlessly. So this is a composite made from:60076__sinatra314__footsteps-in-gravel-loop109487__tomlija__11-footsteps-on-the-gravel213307__taira-komori__walking-on-the-earth. I've retimed them all to be roughly in synch, added a multitap delay to boost the numbers of feet and some eq to give more of an impression of space.
