A conversation that happened in the kitchen. Warm for the time of year, a man steps in to play basketball on a corner paved lot. Just one basket and no refs, the two free-throws he is offered are almost unheard-of. Maybe some of them didn't like his looks. Likely too they know what he does for a living. Likeliest of all he was playing well, but for sure the woody that won't quit had come to call, and they probably liked that least of all. So he steps up to the foul line and the first shot zips the net. So does the second one, but even before it gets there, someone jumps in behind him, grabs hard and and zips his pants all the way down. They aren't around his ankles, though. Close one, he's standing on them. Worse, a local crowd has gathered. Only the stunned aren't laughing or pointing or cheering. You put your pants back on and go home, what else can you do? game over.

I made a bass-line on a doublebass that i played around with. Like the fact that it's groovy and a bit dark. Strings are always cool so added that and more. Very basic, airy ambiance for nightmare sequences, visions, and the like. Created by processing some wordless vocalizing through audacity in various ways.

I needed a wall of crickets but could not find a decent one so i used some samples and multiplied them to make it sound like hundreds of crickets. Enjoy. Nice to fall asleep to, but the loop points could use some fixing-up.

A violin bow scraped back and forth on various parts of the neck of my acoustic bass with a little bit of reverb and compression applied, several samples to choose from, and a bit at the end that sounds kind of like a big monster snarling. Recorded with a blue yeti blackout.

Open and closing a hamster cage: from the the sound you could't think this is a hamster cage. It sounds like a metal cage opening and closing a few times. Recorded using the zoomh4n and the rode ntg1 condenser shotgun microphone. No processing was done to this sound.

I gathered some twiggs from my home, and at the booth, i put them all in my hand and applied easy preasure. The twiggs broke slowely, making a lot of crunch sounds. Sounds like someone stepping in the woods.

I'm an enthusiastic and i created and attempted my first gun's shooting and respective reloading sound. Totally lo-fi, using metallic door bangs and many other rattlings. I boosted some 'ugly' harmonics so you can adapt it as best as your mixes need it. Similarity: i'd say it sound like, known in videogames, a sub-machine gun; a small full-auto gun.
