In this sound track, someone is handling a bag of crisps with strong intent on making rumple noises. The motion is holding and folding the bag of crisps. The sounds has a metallic quality to it, the motion is done at random. Useful for sample slicing. It is recorded with a simple tie microphone and then edited on audacity to reduce noise and isolate the sound.

This is a fragment from the aria ah mes amis at a lower pitch and badly performed. Iintend to use it for a coursera homework (audio signal processing for music applications). I created this spoof auto switchboard for when i get spam calls on the telephone in the uk, simply start the file playing when you do not recognise an incoming call by the caller id, place your phone close to the speaker and let it run. The intent is to make the spammer caller think that the number is just an auto switchboard and hopefully remove the number from their database.

This is an editied version of acclivity's sound file, "30832_acclivity_summereveninginmygarden". His original file contains a barking dog, which depending on your usage, can deter from the intent of your project. Since acclivity's recording has excellent signal to noise ratio, and has captured some beautiful birdsong, i thought other people might be able to use this edited file with all the dog barking taken out.

Horse racing: a girl wearing a tap-dancing shoe ran on a wooden board, tapping her instep and heel at different moments to look like a galloping horse. Horseshoe sound as it runs. Recorded with a shotgun shure vp89 microphone, behringer u-phoria umc404hd sound card, in adobe audition. The sound was produced in a foley class with the intention of making some sound from the tap shoes. The audio was recorded in the foley classroom of the multimedia course at ort brazil school.

Ocean waves recorded from between two rocks. Recorded on a zoom h4 with the mics covered in zeppelin fur at 44100 hz 24-bit. There's some slight wind noise that can be filtered from 150hz downward. This is part of a series of recordings for an ambient music project i'm working on. There are some excellent ocean recordings on freesound if you're looking for a more traditional ocean sound, but my intent with these clips was to try to capture some natural phase-shifting by placing the h4 in cracks and crevices for a more hollow, "closed-in" sound.

I decided to experiment with a metal slinky, with the intention of creating some science-fiction sounds. Here is a string out of what could potentially be used as "laser gun shots". There are a variety of individual shots, and at the latter-half of the clip i attempted to create a cross-fire gun fight. I've been recording some sounds for a an upcoming project which led me to recording the underside of the lid of a salad spinner and dangling a small plastic tab on it as it spun. It wasn't my intention but it sounds a bit like an old film projector. You can get some interesting results with this clip by messing a bit with the eq which is what i'll be doing for the finished project. This recording was made using a sound devices mixpre6ii and a stereo pair of fel em172 mics. Low cut on the sd which in basic mode is 80hz (i think). There is no processing to this recording other than to ‘normalize’ the levels. I do not require any credit or attribution.
