I created this sound using lmms and 2 instances of it's zynaddsubfx plugin and a kick using the kicker plugin and some ladspa effects. I tried to emulate the "inception braaam " sound the best i could. Hopefully someone can find this useful to use in their project.

Defibrillator charging and then discharging. I created this for a video i am working on. I searched but was unable to find what i was looking for, so i created this sound using a combination of an old camera flash charging and a thump which was created by slapping a foam pad. The sounds were combined and edited using audacity. The sounds were recorded on an olympus pcs recorder.

This may be the most irritating squeak sound ever. In our office, we discovered a particular filing cabinet that squeaked if you would lean against it. It was too good to pass up. Wasn't going to upload this, but it was pointed out to me that it sounds like the intro to a song in a minor key. Not sure i see that, but the suggestion is that some composer will seize on it as an opening to an instrumental that fits it. I want to see if that will happen. If that's not practical, i feel sure someone will find a use for it.

After working for the last several years on holiday spots that required the need of sleigh bells, i finally decided to get my own set of sleigh bells. I let the patch sound thru a pair of cheap computer speakers that i use as monitors. In an adjacent room, close to an open window, i put my phone and record. This is the unedited outcome. The recording was made 09:00 (16-05-11). Unfortunately nothing happened outside the window. Even the birds was quiet. Skewer slam is a combination of my knife sharpening sounds and metallic impacts/wobblers (some not yet uploaded here!) to create a sesnsation of something big, intense and lethal coming towards whoever it either find offensive or is ambulatory. As a personal note; the distortion you hear is not because of clipping in the initial recording but because of the higher acoutistic resonance and limiters applied which will not sound like this when downloaded.

These were recorded may 26 2007, about two weeks after the first spring peepers (pseudacris crucifer) were heard in the area. A dog in a distant garden can be heard barking a couple of times in this recording, but if anyone needs a clean recording i can probably find another, similar-length section of the original without extraneous sound. Or it could probably be edited out without too much trouble.

I was recording wind that blows in my window, but the zoom h2 placed on a (cheap) mic stand after some time started to bend itself downwards. It hit the curtain/drape in my window and rubbed itself against it until reached the lowest position - the mic stands arm stopped gently as it started. This produced a very interesting sound that i totally didn't expect to find on the recording. Edited with audacity.

I captured this excited pileated woodpecker on the edge of some deep woods, on a hot dusk in august 2010. It was about 7:30 on a calm night at the edge of the shawnee national forest. The tempurature was 85 degrees. What i find really enjoyable though is the rising, and ebbing and flowing of, i believe the typical summer cicadas. Hi, i recorded this sound especially because i couldn't find any good quality keyboard typing sounds. I used my kit (zoom h5 and rode videomic pro) to capture the sound while my friend was typing. I used the microphone from 15-20 cm far from the soubject and the room was small (around 15sqm), so reverb wasn't an issue. I really needed something that sounded like a group of horses galloping in the distance and couldn't find anything. So i busted out my zoom h6 and set it on my futon comforter and then just tapped my fingertips on the surface right next to the stereo mics. Then i put that track in premiere and made four layers, all offset to get different rhythm and i thought it turned out pretty good so wanted to share it.
