This is the sound of the brood x cicadas. Close up, the cicadas have a sharper chitinous rattle. But more often the experience was a diffuse drone which was audible throughout washington, dc in may and june 2021. This recording was taken in fort slocum park, june 3, 2021. Fort slocum was built as part of the northern defenses following the battle of first bull run in september 1861.

The haunting call of the pileated woodpecker, the largest woodpecker in the united states. It's quite an experience to hear this loud, rattling call break the stillness of the peaceful woods. You can also tell these beautiful birds around by looking for fairly large, rectangular holes in the trees. Recorded with my zoom h4n recorder and using the internal, built-in microphones. The location was the shawnee national forest.

Made sometime during 2017. Excerpts from my experiments with sinusoidal waves, homemade distortion effects, digital reverb, room reverb, and speaker->mic->pc feedback. Several effect parameters are controlled via an ekg setup called the "infernal gadget" which i constructed between 2010-2011 and used for several improvised music sessions.

This is my second "stonerscape" that i've uploaded, the first being "creep jam". This atmosphere gives off a dark and brooding feel, my interpretation of what one may experience in a deep, suspended animation state. This sort of kickish type sound is one of my experiments with my model d. The ones near the end sound the kickiest and there's a nice filter sweeping as it goes along. They'll probably be best shortened a bit but, hey, it's up to you. If you like, please rate. Acid intro (i presume) mysteron striking the notes and being droned at by the other modules. They are only envious of its great "iron bar" wavetable. Rendered at 48khz 32-bit fp with markers for all you acid head morphagene addicts out there. Don't laugh - it´s my first experiment with acid. Just enjoy!.

After many months- and a trip to san clemente, ca and back- my qu-bit nebulae v1 is working! this is a snippet from qu-bit’s own double bass sample, run through a mimeophon and qu-bit’s own fdn reverb, with lashings of modulation wherever possible. My wonder at the sheer madness of the sonic experience here is only matched by my joy at having a working granular processor at last.

The new hope & ivyland railroad is located in new hope, pennsylvania, usa. Basically, it's a tourist railroad that gives visitors the experience of riding in an old fashioned train. You take a short trip out (too short in my opinion) and a short trip back to the station. Since i wanted clean sound, my wife decided to surprise me by paying for the private seats on the very back (outside) of the train. Think of old pictures of presidents waving from the rear of a moving train. . . That place!. So, with zoomh4n pro in hand, i recorded the entire trip from station to station. There's lots of good, old fashioned, clickity-clackity track in this one. A rarity these days as most tracks are now put down with out breaks for miles at a time. Enjoy!. Christopher.

Impulse response generated from field recordings of a parking garage. Recorded using an audio technica bp4029 m/s shotgun microphone into a zoom h4n recorder. This recording is part of a pack of impulse responses comparing different recording and post-processing techniques. A 6-in-1 brass hammer being dismantled and put back together. I am aware that there are a few "pops" in the sound, but i am not completely sure how to remove them, so i left them there in case someone with more experience in audio editing wants them. A near chaotic experiment. Im mixing cycling envelopes and lfos to generate triggers. The four sounds are totally unrelated. > bass drum. > snare (or something. . . )> bass. The pitches for the bass are generated withthree mixed lfos. A trigger is generated from the quantizerwhen the cv changed enough to generate a new note inthe selected scale. > ear piercing and annoying sound. Three minutes of more than enough.

Created from ableton's stock instrument "light key". Created a midi, freezed and flattened, added automation effects added some lfo, some eq re arranged the echo effect to fit what i thought, and just saved it as this.

The recorded sounds mainly correspond to the atmosphere of this vehicle, which is created by both the people and the sounds of the tram itself. (clinking, door sounds, windows, brakes…).

Test subject is given two types of music to listen to, and asked to describe their difference. The color of the first kind of music is not provided, but the color of the second kind of music is orange. This is possibly a color code for the experiment, but may also be what a person with synesthesia sees when they hear it. The first kind of music is considered as merely "entertainment", hence its descriptionthe second (orange) kind of music, according to the subject, affects our spirit, to which the experimenter says "sure".

Experiments with ornament & crime "viznutcracker, sweet!" mode into braids generated several minutes of digital glitch sounds. These were then edited into a morphagene reel (and one-shot sample pack). The sounds are useful in isolation. Single splices can be looped and stretched into drones, triggered as percussion effects, etc. These sounds also work as a glitchy performance pool, and can be layered and juggled through a morphagene performance.

Artificial beep used for research purposes in the behavioral experiment (link to the paper: http://www. Ncbi. Nlm. Nih. Gov/pmc/articles/pmc3384222/). The sound was generated in matlab using binary click trains at the fundamental frequency of 330 hz and 100 ms duration, which were bandpass filtered with a bandwidth equal to 1/50th of the formant frequency using malcolm slaney's auditory toolbox. Formant center frequency was 6. 912 khz. The formant frequency was chosen to lie within rat and human sensitivity range.

This is pink noise, made with audacity program. I decided to record this in a stereo track and i made this noise for 74 minutes long. The effects i chosen for this sound are fade in and fade out only, with the amplitude of pink noise sets to default settings. You can use this sound for your relaxation session, or if you have problems with tinnitus. For a best experience, you can use headphones. Enjoy it, it's my first sound i created.

This song is about a buddhist who returns to the monastery, where he was abbot centuries before (in a previous life). While walking along the path with torches, the memories come to the surface. First, it is difficult to see it without understanding it. After a while he can let it come to him, without exercising control. As a result, he learns the life lessons that he was not yet ready for. Through the light at the end of the path he experiences what enlightenment is:"dare to expose everything without judgment and learn from it to become more loving instead of always needing control".

The past two nights were very stressful and restless due to this crazy hurricane which has come to the balkans and has been terrorizing all the nearby cities. I initially created this snare using lmms ( linux multimedia studio ) and a single instance of the zynaddsubfx plugin. There were many effects and experiments done before exporting as an audio stem. Next i opened this stem ( single snare hit ) in bitwig studio and made a few copies of it and timestretched and chopped and then joined together in a group track the parts i liked to make the whole sound. Final effects included saturation, equalization , sidechain-limiting and compression.
