I downloaded a "joke" mod for tf2 that replaces engie's sound vos with bob ross, and i just played around with them cause i got bored? idk what i was trying to do. Anyways i ended up with a space ship. If you speed it up to 4x, you can hear him say "right. " if you rewind it while its sped up, he's trying to eat some food. You can hear a small amount of children in the background and one child suddenly shouting "happy new year" and scaring the bejesus out of me at about 3 minutes. I change position at 1 minute 30 (pretty much climbing entirely out of the window) and you get a much more impressive surround sound feel after that. There's also a huge explosion right at the end that is definitely worth waiting for.

Was up late last night and needed to make a foley for a radio tuning for a movie project thats coming up. So i thought i try and make my own. I just took my alarm clock radio and played with the am tuner and got some pleasing results. In the beginning it tunes in into various stations while coming towards the end its very errie with static and a wobbly tone. Feel free to use this for your own project. I made a project in cubase which had 12 tracks each playing a sine wave in a different note of the chromatic scale, each sine wave also had slightly varied lfos on volume and pitch. Then i put this sound through the soundtoys crystallizer plug and recorded it while manipulating various parameters. Ended up with 3 minutes of crazy glitched out sounds, use for anything you like!. It gets pretty out of control at some points so don't have your speakers up too loud :).

I placed about 200 small brass ball-bearings (2mm diameter)on to a "half-life analogy apparatus" (which i have access to but i've never see the like using a google search. Basically its a titled wooden box with holes. The ball bearings roll down some of which fall through the holes and are collected in a beaker. The remainder are collected at the end of chute. The clip starts with an idle hum, followed by muffled closing doors and power being applied. The hum grows and varies in tone on initial departure, and is joined by an electrical buzz and the echoing high-pitched sound of the traction motor off the surrounding valley. The clip ends with power being removed as the train approaches a station, and crosses a set of points. Note: there is one muffled station announcement within this clip.

Listening to nightingales & other sleepy birds in the evening. . . You can hear my baby rook taki squak at the very end, cause he was getting restless & wanted to go home to sleep for the night. You can hear nightingales, warblers and thrushes all around. This was recorded using my crappy, old mp3 player in the countryside of henfield, near brighton, england, on the 31st of may 2010. I often play it & other recordings i made around there for my birds in the evening, as a kind of nature lullaby. ^-^.

This little distorted bass one-shot was made using a combination of sine-compression and filtering techniques in conjunction with reverse reverb/ bit-crushing. I also added a pitch fall near the end. Amateur guitar plucking of a tune of my own making, mainly on one string up and down the fret board. Recorded august or september 1984 when i was 15/16. Cassette is a basf cr2-90 (1 of 3). Recorded on my fidelity hi-fi tower, with microphones jacked in. The extra guitar strums near the end were actually unrelated, a technical glitch made an impression of the previous recording to bleed through. Audio has been uploaded using alesis usb tape deck link to audacity, no editing or noise removal was utilised.

In 1967, these cybermen were voiced by peter hawkins using a vocoder or an electro-larynx, a device used to restore speech to those whose vocal cords are damaged by detecting vibrations of the throat. This is a quick minecraft note block loop (drums only) that i made in multitrack daw mobile (i don't know how i did it in that app, it's so hard to use) with original sounds from the game. But it ended up way too dirty a concept and i got uncomfortable and never used it. Rode nt4 -> maudio delta1010lt, capturing a lightning strike that made the walls of my house shake, and forced me to turn off my computer. The lightning occured ~167 meters away from the microphone, calculated from the time lapse between the initial dc spike and the start of audible strike. This was a recording taken on a small train riding around the louisville zoo in kentucky, usa. I took this towards the end of the tour, and was on the back of the train so you can hear the announcer quite clearly directing us. Sorry if there’s some talking in the background, i was siting next to my aunt’s little foster child at the time and he was enjoying himself quite a bit. I accidentally recorded this sequence when i left my camcorder on while filming some drawing tutorials. My warehouse style studio is in the inner city at street level opening onto a street closure/park so you will hear some faint bird tweeting in the background. Near the beginning and end there is the sound of a large industrial sliding door and the loud clanging is a drop bolt on an external metal security grill gate. Wind blown chimes add to the scene. I only applied a very low level audio clean-up using adobe soundbooth cs3 to reduce hiss.

Vocal, speaking, and audio snippets of interviews of visual artists that i did as part of a collaborative music project in 2018. The idea was to chop up and use these samples for a trance / punk form of music - which we jokingly called prance music. I used some, but never released any music with it in the end. This was an attempt at the ice speed record by a rocket powered snow machine called the arctic arrow. The old record was 247 mph. On this run he goes 241mph but at the finish line he loses control and crashes quite dramatically! the driver, kurt anderson walked away. I have photos of the crash as well if interested. This clip is nsfw due to some language at the end, but it really took our breaths away as he was careening thru the snow on frozen bear lake in manawa wisconsin. Enjoy!.

This is my first submission to the site. I've recently been exploring sound design a little bit more and thought i would provide something. Here is 15 minutes of ambient sound recorded around 5 am on october 10th, 2011. I used a shure sm58 microphone through a native instruments audio 8 dj interface. Without a microphone amplifier or my active microphone ready to use i ended up amplifying this about 52 db then removed the extraneous noise by 80% @ 40 db using the noise reduction plug-in in adobe audition cs5. 5. Finally, saving the result to wav @ 44,100 hz, 16-bit.

4ch surround recording of the intersection of the opernring and kärntener straße in vienna/austria. The recording was conducted close range at street level directly at the intersection by a tram line, the rear mics, featured in this file, are pointing onto the sidewalk, away from the street, at a right angle. The close range affords very detailed reproduction of vehicle and tire noises, as well as the tram driving by the mics at the end of the recording. Recording conducted with a zoom h2. These are the rear channels, mics set to 120° dispersion.

I wanted to find a good creative commons 0 sound effect of fingernails scratching on a wooden surface but i could find the exact thing i was looking for. So i recorded myself scratching my bedroom door with my fingernails using a recording app on my phone and edited it in audacity to remove breathing sounds, and to make the sound feel more heavy/deep, including some very faint reverb. Since i really wanted this i thought it might be useful for someone else! i hope someone else out there like me finds this somewhat useful. Theres a bit of a clicking noise at the end - i think from the recording process.
