I live next to a car repair place and they have a couple of hot rods that they fire up now and then. This is a '55 chevy and to me the idle sounds like a dragon breathing. He does a couple of slight burnouts and you can hear the echo off the buildings. Recorded with my yamaha pocketrak and edited with sony vegas with one track duplication. Please comment on what you may use it for. :-).
A rough analog to an explosion, a work in progress, could be coupled with sounds of trash and debris to make the sound fuller. May fit as an artillery sound effect.
I clipped a couple of my finger nails infront of a condeser mic. This was recorded at the open window institute sound booth in centurion, south africa.
Antique cuckoo clock gives a couple "cuckoos". For some reason the second "koo" part of the chime is missing, as explained by a voice in the background. Recorded on a sony pcm-d50.
This is a piece, which is a continuous sound, realized a couple of decades ago, with an arp 2600 analog synthesizer. The idea was to create a kind of "tornado" sound.
Here's some more of that couple next door. At 0. 24 sounds like a door close, so consider that's when the couple begins to have their you know in bed. This is the sound of a 10 year-old small, male poodle/chihuahua mix that is whining. Another dog can be heard sympathetically whining a couple of times.

Just a me making some noise on a violin, layered a couple of times. Just slap some delay and reverb on it and use it in whatever horror project you got going on!.
