The sound is a contact mic'ed piece of pvc pipe which has a drawstring from a pair of shorts tied to it. The sound is the drawstring being plucked. It's could be good for bass lines. The sound was processed slightly in goldwave (some noise reduction/eq adjustments/fading).

A recording using a contact mic into my roland r26 field recorder, it was a windy day so you could hear the wind hitting the bridge and the water rushing underneath. I placed the mic on a metal bolt for a solid contact.

I did this by tuning my voice as low as i could get it and recording it. Then i slowed the voice down to 0. 400, instead of using the paulstretch. I, again, did this with audacity and used my laptop to record it. Pretty good, i think.

So i recently got a new portable recorder (sony pcm-d100). Early one spring morning, i could hear a woodpecker crystal clear from inside my room, with my noise canceling headphones still snug on my head. So naturally, i did a lil ambient recording. Since it was spring, the rich chorus of birdsongs made it, in my book, a freesound-worthy file. I didn't process this very much, except wrapping it around near the end so it could seamlessly loop back, and eqing it to bring out the birds more and soften the mic-noise. In case you're curious, it's a pileated woodpecker!.

Tiny waves lapping the quartzite pebbles (1-2cm diameter) on a beach at lake pedder. Recorded 21 march 2019, 3am, with marantz pmd661 and rode nt55. Exceptionally quiet night, no wind, no other sounds. The gordon river power station was 20 kms distant. Other mechanical equipment or vehicles greater then 50 kms. I could just perceive the electrical hum from the station (or from transmission lines), and so could my partner, but i can’t hear it on the recording. At 1. 30 on the recording you can hear my partner’s soft cough coming from our tent 50m away. The mysterious echoes of what could only be assumed to be wind produces an overwhelming feeling of loneliness and despair, and an absence of any sort of comfort. As the distant sound reverberates towards your position, only assumptions can be made about it's origin and how truly far away it is.

I used made up words and a made up melody to create a sad, wistful, ethereal sounding song. Towards the end, the character is dying so the breath gets more halted and i was hoping people could hear the physical and mental pain. There is a lightness and sadness about it. I hope you like it!.

Silent subway station located in alameda da universidade, lisbon. This was recorded on march 9th of 2020 after a lot of people were sent home because of covid-19. This metro station is very loud on the large majority of days, however on this particular day the silence was all you could hear while waiting for the train.

My first posted sound effect, this is something made on my synthesizer for fun this morning that i think people could get use out of for horror videos and such, as the sound kind of reminds me of a spider or some kind of creature not unlike one scuttling across a wooden floor.

It's a sound i got from a lost recovered wav file. It was a 24-bit file but i have imported it as a 16-bit one, the ruseulting sound is an interenstin non-uniform noise with a modulation to it. Could be a neat sound for broken electronics.

I have a large hound dog with long, heavy ears and he did the dog head-shake. I was trying to get a howl. He saw the microphone and of course, got quiet. And shook his head. It's a fairly unique sound. Please suggest what else it could represent, if you have any ideas.
