I layered three different snare drum takes to achieve this one. All three of those takes are from a ludwig black beauty. I did a close, stereo overhead, and stereo room mic configuration. Originally recorded/used for an 80s cover song i've been working on. Sounded nice in the mix so i thought i'd throw it on here. -yellowtree.

Audio from video clips recorded this morning, thurs 29 april 2021, in south yorkshire. Blue tit right at the start of the recording. Some breeze has got picked up by the microphone on the camera. The bluetits are nesting in our garden and i've been filming them coming and going. They often perch and sing before going into the nestbox. Sometimes it's other bluetits visiting the garden rather than just the two who are nesting.

All this time i´ve been doing a ton of drum samples from almost every edm subgenre, so, i took a transient from a house club kick and a sub bass i made by miself, compressed the hell out of them, distorted the sub bass and added the special sauce, the izotope ozone 8 to make a cool jungle terror kick. Things may be closed but tennis courts still work, and she was dressed for it. The hallway we walked through after, was empty. A lot of them are lately, we used this one. I've been recording some sounds for a an upcoming project which led me to recording the underside of the lid of a salad spinner and dangling a small plastic tab on it as it spun. It wasn't my intention but it sounds a bit like an old film projector. You can get some interesting results with this clip by messing a bit with the eq which is what i'll be doing for the finished project. This recording was made using a sound devices mixpre6ii and a stereo pair of fel em172 mics. Low cut on the sd which in basic mode is 80hz (i think). There is no processing to this recording other than to ‘normalize’ the levels. I do not require any credit or attribution. Recorded with tascam dr-07mkii. While on holiday staying in a country cottage near some cow fields, there was a mother cow and what must have been her 2 calves which had been put into separate fields either side of a road. This was obviously pretty distressing for the cows and so they were constantly mooing at each other and being the kind of guy i am, of course i recorded it!. I have done as much as i can to reduce wind and other background noises (the windshield i have for my dr-07 doesn't seem to do a lot except make it look like it's got a 70s afro) and have trimmed all the cow sounds out and put them together into this one file. Some are better than others, it was hard to know which cow was gonna make a noise next. Free to use for anything, if you use it, would be cool if you let us know where in the comments, be interesting to see where they end up :).

The sound is of an lg french-door refrigerator that just had the compressor replaced but had too much freon loaded. The tubing dedicated to the freezer section accumulated frost which internal fan blades were rubbing against. Later, a savvy technician released some measure of freon and the sound went away. So the sound is now only a memory. No effects or alteration has been applied. The sound was recorded using 'voice record pro' by dayana networks ltd using an iphone 11, ios 15. 6.

This is a squeak sound that i created by pressing a laundry cup together with my hands. It took me a very long time to replicate this exact sound as i had to press the laundry cup in my hands just the right amount to make this exact sound. I recorded this sound with my iphone. This is a background sound i've created designed to imitate the noise produced by a vast collection of typewriters being worked on in a large warehouse environment. All the noises within in have been taken from freesound. There are 8 different typewriters here. On some channels i stuck a lo pass and some big room reverb, and on others i added a little compression to bring them to the forefront. The whole had a hard limiter to -6 on the top.

These owls were recorded around 8:30 at night in the shawnee national forest using my trusty rode ntg-2 on a mic stand. Even though it was a mild night and the insects and frogs should have been vocalizing, they weren't. It was kind of neat -- a dead-quiet night with nothing but these owls. If you thought that owls only do "hoot-hoot" you'll be surprised. After about a minute into it they really get going.

I've been working on a plugin for unity to allow users to create short loops from arrangements of other loops. Seems to be working pretty well, pretty much like a low-tech version of acid. Recorded at tea, a museum in santa cruz de tenerife. I was invited by dancer masu fajardo to create some sound ambients for a dance piece she was doing there, we decided to use only the sounds being created by her body and her interactions with the space. Here we can hear her stepping on a floor that's been previously filled up with salt. It's very subtle but works great as sime sort of glitch or crackle, if that's your thing. Recorded with a zoom h4 n.

A grey squirrel (sciurus carolinensis) recorded early afternoon on 23rd july, 2018. The animal was shaking its tail while calling from the trees, approximately, 3 metres from the ground. Recorded with sennheiser k6/me66 attached to a zoom h5. Editing was done with audacity, mainly to cut the worst of the road and aircraft noise. No noise reduction was been carried out. Recording of a courtyard garden fountain in the abbey gardens in bury st edmunds, suffolk. Recorded early on a sunday morning to minimalism unwanted sounds of people!. Recorded using a directional shotgun microphone into a zoom h4 recorder. Wind sock and hpf have been used to reduce rumble. This particular recording was taken a bit further back from the fountains to try and achieve a more ambient sound, capturing bird song, light winds, distant traffic and park keeper activity.

This is a recording made on an iphone se using the now discontinued sennheiser ambeo vr headset for binaural "3d" recording. This recording has not been processed in any way except for the levels which were normalized. Since it was a cold windy day, i believe i had the mics under a thin hat, which acted as a wind shield. This may have slightly muted the higher frequencies but it shielded the mics from wind noise. I will make some more recordings and share them.

Some kind of tardis-esque machinery humming away, ready to project the adventurer into outer space. Would be useful as a sound effect for a video involving strange futuristic machinery. No effects have been put on it to aid this. This was created with my eurorack, the main component is a waldorf wavetable oscillator nw-1 module, put through an a-127 triple voltage controlled resonance filter and a a-188-2 tapped bdd delay. The filter and oscillator are modulated in sync by an a-145 lfo.

The bronze temple bell of the byodo-in temple in the valley of the temples cemetery just outside kaneohe, hawaii. The bell was cast in japan and had been installed in a free standing bell tower, as is customary in japan, and can be rung by anyone who passes by. It's timbre and sound reminded me very much of the bronze bell in hiroshima called the peace bell, which is in a tower directly across the river from the technical school ruins.
