The sound of a lift in an office block in hounslow. It has a clanking mechanical sound that might work for a metal monster or robot in a sci-fi film. The lift chimes are also very old school and might be useful as well. Recorded with a tascam dr44wl.

I recorded this in my backyard at dusk in july of 2010. As night falls, the cicadas start up, the birds die off, and you can hear owls if you listen closely enough. Also a few sounds of traffic and briefly can hear the neighbor kids.

This is the soundscape i've recorded in my neighboorhood of cidade tiradentes, a district from são paulo, brazil. We name these events as pancadão (big punch) or fluxo (flow). When a flow occurs, you know that the sound is very high and it invades all surroundings. It happened in april 4, 2021, during our worst period in the the global covid-19 pandemic. Plent of people, vehicles, multiple speakers and so on in a street. I'm writing in the exact moment police came to repress, but in my conclusion only education can solve city problems, not repression, not paliative atitudes. I think this is interesting to share it here, as a cultural manifestation, showing that when the state fails, everyone fails. This is disrespectful at all, but i try to look it as a construction of city. In a country where its president goes for a for a swim at a crowded beach amid 200 thousand pandemic deaths, how can i criticize suburban people?. I'm not conservative, i like the kind of music playing known as"brazilian funk" or "funk carioca", this is our culture, even if i do not participate actively. Plot twist: i was working in a asmr video. *-*. Recorded in mp3 320 kbps, using a zoom h1n and compressed in ableton live to bring on the dynamics.

This is my impression of a flatulent arachnid, or "spider fart" which if referenced by a woman in an old-timey southern mansion, might be pronounced as "spidah-faht". This seemingly odd spelling and like-wise pronunciation, perhaps worthy of explanation, would be on account of their ". . . Well known and often satirized dropping of "r's" in times when they precede another consonant or pause, which has the effect of elongating the pronounciation of the vowel before it. " as ray kooyenga explains it. Delving deeper, according to j. Fought who seems to agree, this was a originally a "southern english dialect associated with priveledge and prestigem" and in certain geographies of the southern and south eastern united states migrants "clung to such speech through its association with the influential proprietors of the southern plantation agricultural system. ". The use in "faht" has also another common southern linguistic trait of what the preceding gentleman might term a "confederate a". And so this, is the "spidah-faht" or "spider fart" if you prefer, as performed by ray anthony mimicking the fairly common species "arachnid flatulence gigantous".

The "concrete cello" pack is a collection of scraping, scratchy and droning improvisations on the cello focussing on the creation of sounds to be used as base materials for future compositions. They were originally recorded in 2019 to be used in as sound design elements for the documentary "hotel regina" by director matthias berger for which i composed the music. Part of the impetus of this sampling session was to create cello sounds that would be remiscent of construction machines. (if you look on the geotag you can see the machines, well, sort of). You can listen to the score here :https://doubleblindrec. Bandcamp. Com/album/regina-hotel. These are the close-micced mono raw studio recordings. Neumann u87 into a wa273 and a rme ufx. Recorded by barbara samla at studio aktis in france. Sounds are cco, use them as you will!(but feel free to let me know in what : it's always nice to find out!).

Zoom h4n - onboard microphones. This recording was captured in the city of orange in orange county, california. This is located just below los angeles and less than a mile from disneyland in anaheim. This is an extremely clean recording of a sudden cloudburst that turned in to a torrential downpour on december 28, 2020. The peaks are all very close to 0db. I opened the sliding glass door to our balcony and placed my zoom h4n as close as possible to the rain without destroying the recorder. What resulted is an amazingly layered rain track. This is because rain can be heard striking multiple surfaces such as a tree, a metal table, the cement balcony, etc. . . There is not much thunder (that's rare in this area) but if you need a few dramatic thunder claps they can be found at the following times one the file is downloaded. Note: that the rain decreases in intensity near the end. 8:09 - 9:37 - 10:31 - 11:20. - christopher.

I made this instrumental music in two versions, with and without drums. This is with drums. I did it in garageband for a thing called victors crypt. I made a bass-line on a doublebass that i played around with. Like the fact that it's groovy and a bit dark. Added a drumbeat i made that i think suited the bass-line. Strings are always cool so added that and more. Could be perfect for an intro, outro, something spooky and cool, mysterious or whatever you feel like. . . . Let the imagination run wild. Feel free to use it as you like as long as you subscribe to and watch my channel! if you wanna use it in your music and gonna release it, ask me first. Don't wanna see my music copyrighted by someone else of course. Be cool watch and subscribe to victors crypt:https://www. Youtube. Com/channel/uca8o46_wrqzehsdzuwfq3rq. boo (i got you good) is made in garageband for a thing called victors crypt. I'm currently in a beat 'n bass-mode it appears. Made this drums on a vintage-sounding drum-machine and added some sampled drums for a more vital sounding beat. Wanted a cocky big bass-line and some spooky music box stuff, sci-fi synth and more. It's space and horror meeting groove i guess. Could be perfect for an intro, outro, something spooky and cool, mysterious or whatever you feel like. . . . Let the imagination run wild. convoy through space and time is a short piece of music i made in garageband for a thing called victors crypt. I feels a bit "spacey" sci-fi-sish i think. And has the feeling of a journey i think. Made it with a futuristic bass-sound along with a nclassic p-bass. Blended drum-machine with sampled drums and added melodies with a kind of retro synth sounds. Could be perfect for an intro, outro, something spooky and cool, suspence, sci-fi, futuristic, mysterious or whatever you feel like. . . . Let the imagination run wild. Feel free to use it as you like as long as you subscribe to and watch my channel! if you wanna use it in your music and gonna release it, ask me first. 4ch surround recording of the intersection of the opernring and kärntener straße in vienna/austria. The recording was conducted close range at street level directly at the intersection by a tram line, the rear mics, featured in this file, are pointing onto the sidewalk, away from the street, at a right angle. The close range affords very detailed reproduction of vehicle and tire noises, as well as the tram driving by the mics at the end of the recording. Recording conducted with a zoom h2. These are the rear channels, mics set to 120° dispersion.

I needed a very specific brand of lollipop with a chocolatey center for a short film i'm working on. None of my library crunch fx sounded right, so i chomped into one myself. Just call me mr. Owl. Recorded on an iphone, about an inch from my face. Just a single crunch edited to have a little extra tail. The effect came out as a satisfying crunch with decent low-mid range. Could be pitched down a bit to act as bones, or maybe a small to medium sized tree branch. I may record more of these after i visit the dentist next.

Drum: pearl sensitone steel 14" x 5. 5". Head: genera dry. Mic configuration: mono room, two overheads [spaced pair], batter head, reso head. I did basic eq cuts and boosts with some compression. No limiting used. Each articulation was carefully played and gain adjusted to seem as natural as possible. My goal was to also create a multi sampled snare drum that could be drag and dropped into a sampler with ease. Articulations: x-soft, soft, medium, hard, and crack. ***i will post a link to the complete multisample pack for all to download soon.

This piece is a sound-sculpture of a weather effect commonly called the beast from the east in the uk. It is based on a longer piece by me called frozen kaos. This was constructed by me using only copywrite free sources of sounds, musical(ish) pieces and natural sounds. All of these were assembled and processed using the free software package audacity™. Most samples have been filtered, pitched, and manipulated vastly to make the basic foundation. On that base all the rest of the sounds were layer (over 200 different layers -- manipulated, mixed down, rebuilt, remixed, manipulated). I mostly work be happenstance and never take notes -- often what comes about is as much by chance as by design.

One of autumn's most signature sounds is that of dry leaves skittering and tumbling as they ride along on a hard surface. In this case, the hard surface is asphalt. Hardly any other sound, just the strong autumn wind, and bunches of dried out sweet gum, maple and oak leaves racing across an asphalt parking lot. Think of it, also, as the sound from our youth, our careful youth when everything was achievable. At least for me, this brings me back to my happy place. Recorded on saturday october 17 2020 in an asphalt parking lot buffeted by gusts between 20 and 30 mph. Sound devices 702. Sennheiser mkh416 left channel, beyerdynamic m58 right channel.

Recreating a radio reception sound with alien female voices modulationsexomusicology"though musicology is defined as "the historical and scientific study of music," the term is typically applied only to the study of music from the european classical tradition. "ethnomusicology" is used to describe the study of nonwestern musical traditions and to the comparative study of different musical cultures. The more general term exomusicology (from the greek prefix exo, meaning 'external to' or 'outside of') is more appropriate to the study of nonhuman musical traditions, much as exobiology refers to the study of non-earth life forms, and exolinguistics to the study of alien languages"(sethares).

A technical problem i had with my technics stereo cassette desk rs-5 where playback would deliver this fading squarewave at maximum volume. Apparently, it could have been an issue with the tape header wearing out. Thought i might as well upload it here, as i'm not sure anyone will be able to create this sound again. Note, this sound was de-amplifiied by 10 db in audacity 3. 1. 3. Simply put, the raw file was incredibly loud. If you're curious enough, you can increase it back up to its original volume, though i wouldn't advise it.

This was a recording taken on a small train riding around the louisville zoo in kentucky, usa. I took this towards the end of the tour, and was on the back of the train so you can hear the announcer quite clearly directing us. Sorry if there’s some talking in the background, i was siting next to my aunt’s little foster child at the time and he was enjoying himself quite a bit. You can hear the train rumble against the tracks and slowly slow down, as well as some chatter of the riders and passerby. Used this myself in my song bossa nova- https://soundcloud. The range of a Jew's harp as string harmonics:“By using the cavity of the mouth as a resonator, each harmonic in succession can be isolated and reinforced, giving the instrument the compass shown. The lower harmonics of the series cannot be obtained, owing to the limited capacity of the resonating cavity. The black notes on the stave show the scale which may be produced by using two harps, one tuned a fourth above the other.” This file plays harmonics 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12.

A mid-summer recording of the shawnee national forest in illinois featuring the singing of two popular summer visitors: (1) indigo bunting and (2) white-eyed vireo. I really enjoy hearing these calls because, while beautiful in their own right, they also signify the soon-to-be summer coming to a close. Recording made on august 6, 2022 at about 2pm in a clearing surrounded byseveral dozen black walnut trees, and, beyond those, thick, midwestern, insect-laden summer woods. Equipment: sony pcm d100 audio recorder with built-in microphones. Enjoy and maybe this soundscape will be as peaceful and reflective to you as it is to me.

Recorded from about 0515 in the morning. This is in a suburban garden in essex, uk. A blackbird can be heard through most of the recording. Other birds that can be heard are pheasant, robin, woodpigeon, wren, collared dove, peacock (not native but this bird is living wild in the area), carrion crow, black headed gull, starling, magpie and goldfinch. The recording was made with a sennheiser k6/me66 microphone on a tripod attached to a zoom h5. There has been some noise reduction and editing with audacity. The editing was mainly to reduce the worst of the aircraft noise. There is still some aircraft and other human-related noise as well as some wind occasionally.

Recording of my duduk. It's in the key of a, so i played a b3 and pitched it up to c3 with melodyne so it's usable in a sampler or to import as a wavetable in serum or whatever. Because of it's harmonic content, it actually works great as a clean yet relatively translatable sub bass for electronic music. I used it to make a wavetable in serum which works perfectly. The instrument is a double reed woodwind folk instrument from armenia, the reeds are made of a flattened piece of bamboo, and the body is made of the wood from an apricot tree. And it's history dates back to approximately 1200bc. Enjoy!.

This was an attempt at the ice speed record by a rocket powered snow machine called the arctic arrow. The old record was 247 mph. On this run he goes 241mph but at the finish line he loses control and crashes quite dramatically! the driver, kurt anderson walked away. I have photos of the crash as well if interested. This clip is nsfw due to some language at the end, but it really took our breaths away as he was careening thru the snow on frozen bear lake in manawa wisconsin. Enjoy!.
