This is the companion audio to the article "modify your monitor audio" appearing on w1zy's substack account. In it, we hear what happens when you mix through a soundboard the audio from a ham radio transmitter's "monitor" output and a second receiver dialed onto the transmitter's output frequency. When the two are mixed, we hear a heterodyning between the external receiver and the transmitter monitor audio sources. By adjusting the receiver's frequency to that of the transmitted signal, we can zero-beat the two audio sources together producing a "flange" effect derived from analog devices. Non-ham audio enthusiasts might find this clip interesting since it is producing this artifact not through some plug-in, but through use of "legacy" analog equipment.

Trying to start a 1983 volvo 245 after a stop at a gas station. First we hear the seatbelt warning signal after the driver turns the ignition on. The first start attempt fails. The two following attempts fail because the starter fails to engage with the flywheel, creating a very loud and unpleasant sound. There is some reverberation from the metal roof of the gas station. We then drive off and we also hear some squeaking from the steering wheel. Throughout the recording we hear breathing noises from the driver (80 year old man, smoker). The recording was made in the front passanger seat with the window open, that's why there a very noticable difference between the left and right channel. This is the final piece for our final project of sound creation laboratory. We have made changes in several ways: erasing redundant information (such as spoken words), filtered a section of the piece in order to make a sense of outside the club or inside the club. We also introduced an echo effect to make the effect of a drunk state. Furthermore, a bed sound has been placed at the final of the piece. This is a good improvement related with the final impression the piece gives to the audience. It's a recreation of tired atmosphere and also of the desire of sleeping.
