A stereo field recording of hundreds of several species of frogs at spring in raleigh, nc. Recorded at a very large concrete stormwater retention pond. The tall concrete walls made a nice effect acoustically. There are a few other faint sounds such as my dog walking around, a bit of wind and a car door as the pond was next to a parking garage. But, the frogs definitely dominate. I recorded this with an olympus ls-11.

I recorded this while searching for farm sounds. On the recording you can hear footsteps in the grass, then the opening of the latch in the gate to the field and then further steps. A field recording i made in bruges, december 2013. While i was walking around the chapel at the béguinage, a nun started singing and practising the organ. It sounded beautiful but also quite spooky and ethereal. I'm afraid it's not the best quality as i had to improvise with the voice memo feature on my iphone. A high-quality recording of a quiet day on the steps in front of the st. Ursen cathedral in solothurn, switzerland. You can hear the two fountains which build the background sound. This was recorded in the centre of oxford, near the junction between broad street and turl street, on 23rd february 2013. I was facing west along broad street with turl street, and the pavement, to my left. There are many different sounds on this recording including bikes being parked (i was standing near a bike rack) and ridden, cars lurking for a parking space, dropping people off and turning round (broad street has a car park in the middle of it), plenty of different people walking past and talking, and a big issue seller. The eerily quiet soundscape of a small midwestern town during the covid-19 shutdown. . . This was recorded in town, on a friday night (april 3rd, 2020) at a time when there is almost always more traffic, people and families walking and talking on the sidewalks. . This recording started at 11pm at night. . . What a strange, weird eerie feeling of this track. You will hear a lot of steady wind gusts, dry leaves being moved around by the strong southerly flow. . This is my first recording using my binaural mic. I took a walk to meet my wife for lunch and decided to record it. It was windy outside, and even with the standard foam wind protection, you can still hear some wind rumble. It might be fixed using some low cut filtering but i wanted to post it as is. This take started inside my recording studio and ended in a fairly large avenue with lots of traffic (cars and motorcycles). There is a pause on the recording by 01:59, when i had to change the mic cable position. I was awakened at about 3 am by a local thunderstorm. It was raining softly and lightning came regularly. I recorded over 4 minutes of it from my front porch using an iphone and added recording app, and nothing else. This file is unmodified. A young backpacker is walking along a country road but is kidnapped and bound. When caged, he comes to the realization that his mountain-dwelling captors are practicing cannibals. After escaping his bonds and getting out of the makeshift cage, he silently slips from the campsite into the hills, and after picking his way around rocks and waterfalls and through miles of forest, he is hopelessly lost. He sits and rests, then, alone in darkness and a summer thunderstorm. All he has other than the clothes on his back is a folding pocket knife. When you make it and it wins at cannes, let me know.

11/29/2018 - burbank, california. Rain, flooding, and mudslides come to california when a sudden storm hit today. Most people got off the freeways quickly and tried to protect their homes from water damage. This recording was recorded with a zoomh4npro (2018) set at 120 degree field-pattern mode. The zoom was placed on a tripod facing out a 3rd floor window into a dead-end alleyway below. This recording is great atmospheric sound. The water can be heard trickling off spanish tile rooftops and dripping from overflowing terracotta pots. From the passing cars on a distant highway, to the occasional cough of a homeless gentleman walking on the street below, this recording is genuine and clean. Imagine adding that sound of a metal garbage can and a shrieking cat in the night! a sound that's great for sleeping or portraying a dark alley in gotham!. Enjoy!. Christopher c. Courter.
