This is an alert signal from a real fire station. I tried to make a sound how they wanted it, and what i believe what was needed. Few things like 1) start softly to ease it when waking up in the night 2) some pauses for better recognition of speech or other signals heard same time 3) good cut trough background noise or whatever, stressless but good cut trough 3) limited length before announcement.

A remix of freesound 252834 and 17804. I took 252834 and course quantized it in goldwave, then lowered the volume and mixed it with some of the static from 17804. Then i played the mix through my computer speakers and recorded it with my webcam to immitate the cheesy fake apparatus used by the ghost hunters tv series and the like.

Disassembling it is a chore even if you have 25+ people around. I have recorded the later stage: clanging tubes are dragged to the hoister in order to be brought down to the ground level and loaded into a truck. Speech is cut off (hopefully all of it). Sometimes, my imagination goes here, and further. I never offer explanations for the bits and bites i ask from him, and clearly, he doesn't check it out later. So i put this together out of thin air. Probably. My mom used to caution that i shouldn't watch those horror flicks, they would warp my mind. Well any fascination with the macabre came directly from her. Right, dad?. Anyway, she should never have said that. I took it personally. She won't do it again. There's just a chance that this guy took it personally too.

It's me saying some words. I've recorded my speech and then used ardour's (http://ardour. Org) looping funtionality (which have proven to be rock-solid) to perform theese glitches. I used my mouse to select random ranges in the session, then used the "]" key to set tre selected region as a loop range. And also used "l" key to start looping if i accidentaly clicked on the playhead (which makes it stop playing). I also used space bar to break the loop into normal playback. There was a limiter in ardour. Recorded the performace using jack_capture cli program. I cut out some silence using audacity and converted the recording to flac.

Sometimes it cuts off or on in the middle of a word but that's just what was available in the optical soundtracks. I plan to use these for a film but thought it might be fun for others to play with. Splice markers added in reaper, optimized for the make noise morphagene tape and microsound synthesizer, just rename the file to mg1 etc. , morphagene’s file-naming convention (but of course you don’t at all need the morphagene to use these).

This is the sound of a spaceship's underbelly cargo hatch closing mid-flight after receiving a cargo transfer. The sequence begins with a warning alarm indicating the hatch closing, followed by the sound of the giant servos rotating the dual bay doors up and inward until the bay is sealed shut and locked. An all clear signal is given, reverberating into the dark, silent chamber. Made in logic pro, completely synthesized with es2 and mac's built in speech synthesis for vocal alarm. No unoriginal samples or sounds were used in the creation of this sound. Use freely as desired, but i would appreciate credit.

We have the movie "chronicles of riddick" starring vin diesel, and at one point thandie newton walks around him, seeking approval. She gets it, as vin growls, "it's been a long time since i smelled beautiful. " his voice is incomparable, as he exudes a touch of evil with that. Nevertheless i laugh every time i hear it, because it suggests he needs a shower. Try as we might though, we can't quite duplicate it. This was the most recent and possibly best effort.
