This is a recording made in the province of rieti in italy, in the room of my apartment where i am doing a flight test of my jamara toy drone without sensors. In the background you can hear the songs of renato carosone that i put on my tv and also my parakeets that flutter from time to time. This recording was done with my iphone connected to the shure mv88 plus stereo microphone.

Just a few hand claps i layered, compressed, and added a touch of reverb. I use this sample in my own songs all the time. Just a nice layer to put under the backbeat, not a crazy, huge clap to use on its own. I'd love if you'd credit joshua scott or rjc studios if you use this sample, but don't sweat it if you don't. Originalmente se llamaba “La Salaverrina”, en homenaje a Felipe Santiago Salaverry, jefe del gobierno peruano de entonces, pero luego adoptó su nombre actual, en conmemoración a la victoria peruana de Uchumayo sobre los invasores bolivianos. They play those small guitars -imagine a ukelele in hands of a mexican- they call jaranas and also a 4 string guitar they call requinto. Recorded in oakland california. January 2012. I used a h2 zoom.

Here in the midwest one sure sign that winter "has left the building" is when the neo-tropical migrants arrive in the forests to gorge themselves on the multitude of insects, and to raise a family. One of my favorite bird-songs is this "zipper" sounding call of the northern parula. Perhaps you have heard this very unique call while out in the woods. I recorded this with my zoom h4n recorder, using its internal stereo microphones. This sound was recorded around 7am on april 29th 2013.
