These small sound clips i made while accompanying friends to make hands-free climbing on a small creek near toconao south of san pedro de atacama. They like to play drums to quench anxiety. Was in october 2012.

After a rain storm, if it's a hot day the mist will rise, particularly in my river valley. There are railroad tracks on the far side of the valley from where i live, about five miles distant. In damp air the sound really carries. This file is unmodified.

This was recorded at the san giorgi in braida church along the adige river in verona, italy. I used a zoom h1 set on the top of a pew a few seats away from where i sat. The organist was practicing at nearly the other end of the church, hence the atmospheric and distant audio quality.

Recording out of my open bedroom window the first afternoon in september 2020. You can hear some faint traffic noice, a distant river and waterfall, and the crickets playing in the raspberry. Recorded at 32bit 48khz float with a zoom h6 recorder, and a røde nt4 stereo microphone, mounted in a rycote windshield ae blimp.

This is the ambience of both banks of a river that normally runs loudly outside the kitchen window of my home here in honolulu, hawaii. You can hear traffic passing by, birds singing in the trees (especially a dove), kids laughing in the distance, and a light breeze blowing.

Two stroke diesel engine on a narrow boat on the river weaver cheshire - running at normal cruising speed. Audio track separated from a video. Camera was just in front of cabin - filming for most of the time towards the bow. The sound was captured when the camera was turned to film the two boaters at the helm.

I recorded this sound at home, in the belgian country during the end of a storm (but there is no thunder sound). You can hear rain falling and a river flowing nearby. The roost is next to the bellingen river in on of the last remaining patches of low altitude rainforest in the region. This is a recording of buttsbury wash, which goes across a small road in essex, uk. At about 1:15 a car can be heard going through the water. The water is quite deep and the car stalled after it got to the other side, though managed to restart. The recording was made with a sennheiser m6/k6 attached to a zoom h5. Minimal editing with audacity.

This is the second part of a recording an overflowing brook in summer, out in a farmer's field after a rainstorm. This one is pretty clear but there may be some artifacts created by my phone being jostled, or other sound sources in the area, but it's long so those could be easily cut out. Since i was walking in the riaza river gorges i saw a lot of ants on the remains of an animal. I put over a pair of contact mics trying not to disturb to the ants. Maybe the sound you can hear in this audio is produced by the ants eating or the. "hoces del río riaza" natural park (segovia) / 2010-09-04 11:00.

A recording that i did on a shoot for some ambient sound while in a small 10' motor boat. The motor runs for a little while but then turns off and the sound of the boat just floating in the water can be heard. The mic is moved around a bit to get a few samples of different perspectives.

A unique sound i recorded in bangkok whilst standing on a floating pier waiting for a boat. The pier is made of metal and the sound produced is the empty steel pier rubbing against the pylons with each wave of the river. You can also hear a boat motor as a ferry pulls up to the pier. Needed a really good bar drop for a film we where doing. This is a nice combo of a dead iron bar drop to a sawdust and straw wood floor with the addition of a metal bar dropped on wood. There is also a river-flowing kind of sound as this street floods in heavy rain, and the water runs from the street into a storm drain right beside my driveway. Various vehicles occasionally pass by.

Recording of a fairly boisterous stream near my house. It has a lot of motion due to the fact that a branch was caught on the bank of the stream which was being pulled about in different directions resulting in different rates of flow and a varying sound.
