Actually is not rain. It is snow melting down from a roof, falling into puddles and onto a corrugated roof. I placed the microphone (zoom h2) on different spots in 4channel sorround mode. I just normalized them and mixed them into stereo. Thats it. In this case the mic is placed on the ground in the middle of the puddles and the roof. Well. . . . . Field recording is a bit of a stretch this was recorded on my back porch in springfield mo usa in june of 2000. I used a minidisk and two pzm's and a home made spliter box that worked only if you never touched it. It was one in the morning to try and avoid most of the traffic. Rain starts about half way in. This is a recording i made using my tascam dr-40 field recorder. Used the xy pattern, no post-processing, just some edits to cut off unwanted noise, wind puffs and stuff. It was recorded in santo andre, state of sao paulo, brazil. This sample has street sounds, with rain, people chatting (in portuguese), bird sounds, cars, bikes and airplane sounds.
