Something i threw together for a personal project i was working on. I couldn't find any high quality samples of a dragon so i decided to make my own. This was created using ableton and contains the following sounds:a dog growlinga lion roara horse gruntingan elephant vocalisinga flamethrower sound. All sounds used were obtained from royalty free websites and manipulated using software so that the original samples are not identifiable. Made from taking two large atx (the form factor, the chassis) computer panels (that i havent used in quite some time), rubbing the entirety of them together quite brashly (one is on the ground), keeping the recorder on xy setup in my other hand in unison then dropping them onto each other. Inside of reaper, i begin changing the rate and pitching them down and applied saturation, distortion and reverberation gave them a very clean effect of a decrepit gate shutting down. Good for trapping your enemies in a battle to the death for which the title is inspired from; one of those tension moments a person in a film/game finds themselves in.

Any thursday. . . It was about 1:00 am and i got my handy recorder zoom h4n with me. Then i realized i found very few sounds here at freesound. Org of steps for videogames. . . So i decided to record some. They have "so much personality", with keys in the pockets (you can notice them on the run), a dog barking when i run, and the sound of the street at night. It may not be 100% clean (for example, wind affects a little to the beggining of the run), but i think it's enough to emulate a videogame in a short film or something. I turn around once when dog is barking, you can notice the bark panning from left to right channel.

If you stand just underneath a commercial airplane as it's coming in to land (as was the case here at dfw airport) and so long as there's not a lot of noise around you (like loud traffic, etc. ) then when the jet passes overhead, what you can't see is that at the tips of the wings are rapidly spinning vortices of air that coil off the wingtips as the plane passes through air. These long, coiling spirals of air will eventually "close" and as that happens, it creates a momentary but bizarre, surreal sound that you really need to hear for yourself in person to get the full effect. All surface to air fireworks are illegal but, due to covid-19 cabin fever, people just didn't care this year. This recording is almost 99% voice free. There was a couple on a balcony that are barely heard muttering something in just a minute or two of this recording. For the most part, it's clean.
