Fireball explosion with natural rolling decay and delayed single reflection. The pyrotechnic explosion took place in the forest at el tejon ranch in late march 2013 during a film shoot. The sound was recorded using a schoeps mk41 supercardioid condenser microphone running into a sound devices 442/722 mixer/recorder combo. I cleaned up extraneous background noise using pro tools and izotope rx. Enjoy!.

This was in our backyard and i have no idea why the birds were doing this. I couldn't see them in the thick bushes and i couldn't tell how many there were. They just went on and on and i never heard them like this before except for maybe one or two squawking away at times. A bit of wind came up and a few background noises. Recorded on my yamaha pocketrak and edited in sony sound forge. Please comment on what you will use it for. :^).

Sound synthesis made from chuck programming language. The model is a connection from an impulse generator to 40 digital filters to 40 delay linesand set feedback between each delay lines. Each delay lines's delay time and cutoff frequency is random. But there was an error in the calculation and the output value overflows. And this create a chaotic behavior in this sample. - - -. This one is a smooth rising soundwith alternating digital aliasing resonances at the end.

I recorded a viola for a theatre project. I recorded it in a dry room, close mic with a neumann tlm103. Some samples are just noises of the bow on the c or d string, then once in a while creating overtones, other samples contain some processing with echoboy by soundtoys. Amazing plugins they make!. A stereo wav recording from a zoom h1n during a thunderstorm today. One siren picks up followed by several more producing a convincing stereo image. I have done a basic bass roll-off, but have left it otherwise untouched. If you have a spectral editor you can probably clean out more of the noise, but i couldn't do so and keep the sirens sounding good.

This is a field recording from inside the "experience gallery" of the musical instrument museum (phoenix, arizona). The experience gallery is full of gongs, bells, drums, gamelan instruments, stringed instruments, marimbas, xylophones, and even a theremin. A schoolgroup of children were let loose at the time of this recording. Recorded in stereo with a sony pcm-d50 (onboard mics, wide pattern) while in motion.

This is the unprocessed version of my "sci-fi ambient drone" upload. It's creative commons cc0, so please treat it as public domain. You can use it in any commercial or non-commercial media for free, no restrictions. I took a quick 8-second drum loop from my teenage engineering po-33 (ko) and ran it through a free time-stretching/pitch-shifting program called akaizer. This program is based on old samplers like the akai s1000 that had extremely artifact-heavy time-stretching and pitch-shifting features. If you slow a sound down enough, the final product tends to sound harsh and electric. Akaizer turned my 8-second drum loop into 2 minutes and 38 seconds of harsh, bassy noise, pretty damn close to the final. Enjoy :).

This sound was recorded via the use of a behringer b2 microphone, fostex fr2 and a home made parabolic reflector made from a tv satellite dish. The source of the sound was between 100m-200m away from the microphone. This has been eq'ed with high-end shelving to reduce gain noise, low-end shelved up to 1khz (to reduce wind and background noise) and the overall gain has been increased. This underwater breathing was created in audacity. To create this sound i generated 2 tracks rhythms on 2 different mono tracks. For the breathing i created a rhythm "click noise" and added the effect "paulstrech". I deleted some moments of silences. I tried to simulate a heartbeat. I generated a rhythm tracks "noise click" and added the effect "echo". I selected in the track a sound wich looks like to a beat, cut the remain and add the repeated effect on the selected moment. I added bass to make the son more organic and reduced the gain. ---. Typologie/morphologie de shaeffer. Ce son est un mélange de continu complexe (x) et d'itération complexe (x''). One morning i woke up and found i had a mouse/rat trapped, but still alive. It was making squeaking sounds, so i recorded them, edited out the noise as much as i knew how to, and amplified the whole thing. The mouse was disposed of shortly afterward. I have made a patch that generates drones. Lets call this generative. . . I use feedback on my spring reverb. I only use one filter. The drone is structured by a triangle lfo and 2 comparators. It's tricky to balance the patch to give varying and interesting results. The drone is made with a 100% analog modular synth.

This is static actually coming from my radio but its plugged into the same cord as my tv & they are very close together. So it's actually interference. Also the proximity of my phone gives more sound (ringy static). That really awesome modulating sound is the moment between clicking the on button & the picture coming on the screen. 2nd try was better after i adjusted the tuner a bit.

I recorded myself walking around the outer waiting area at my office. There are some very nice floorboard squeaks in here. Unfortunately, the environment isn't as quiet as i'd like; you can discern some traffic noise coming from outside the office building.
