Recording of a door being opened and closed, and then opened and closed again. Very slight footsteps (on carpet) can be heard. The microphone (sennheiser mkh-50) was intentionally placed about 5 feet away from the door so as to capture some of the natural room sound/reverb (which is very subtle). I have another recording available of the exact same door and mic setup, but aimed slightly off-axis to capture just a bit more room sound. Recorded into a tascam 208i audio interface and into adobe audition. Very minor processing (low-cut at 80hz to remove low-freq rumble).

I have been hearing an animal or two beneath my bathtub for some time now. Today i discovered who it was. Leaving my apartment building this afternoon, i saw a cat sized racoon carrying her baby under the walkway. I went back inside and set up a microphone aimed at the floor by my bathtub. Methodology: shure sm58 into focusrite and recorded via ableton. Noise removed in audacity. I have a horrendous ground loop situation. In the future i may try to mic from below the apartment so that it isn't so muffled by the floor. Some noise comes from how much i had to amplify the signal to make it heard.

It's a recording of over 100 people watching a football match (poland-greece @ uefa euro 2012). Recorded in a medium-sized hall. You can hear the sport live commentary broadcasted from television, people expressing their emotions with their voices. Clapping their hands, cheering their team (poland) and generally making a lot of interesting noises as they watch the game. Recorded with zoom h2 in 2-channel surround mode. Originally 24-bit wav, normalized and converted to 24-bit flac with audacity. I have reduced the mic gain at 0:56 to ensure i will not have a clipped recording. I didn't edit the result to let you cut-out whatever you may need.

A typhoon thunderstorm recorded in a backyard of an apartment complex in xinyi district, taipei city, taiwan, in late august, 2022. Rain can be heard falling on grass, the glass roof over the recording area, and various roof materials in the area such as tin, brick, concrete, and clay tile. Occasionally, there is thunder. Recorded on a zoom h1n with a wind filter, at its 96k 24 bit option, mic sensitivity control wheel set to 6 (out of 10). Due to the length of the recording, this is part 2 of 2.

Two mourning doves: one close, one far distant, in a mating call and response. Pretty clean, spring pre-air conditioner pollution season background with light birdsong way back. Recorded @ 8khz with a griffin italk mic to a recently refurbished 20gb 3rd generation ipod - my favorite lo-fi field recording / interview rig. If you have a recording device on your person, you get a lot of stuff you'd otherwise miss altogether. This rig helps me get those things too ephemeral to capture with a stereo pair; sounds i would regret not having at all. I keep it on my belt 90% of the time. Just in case.

This sound field recording was made back in 2000 on a very late/early morning. I placed the sony microphone ontop of the car outside to record the crickets and cicadas. There were a lot of mosquitos out that hot night. One of them landed on the mic and actually bit the microphone. You have to listen close but the bug bites at about 14:28 and removes the mosquito blood sucker at about 34:28. 2016-06-01clear creek metro parkrockbridge, ohio. In late spring 2016, seventeen-year cicadas emerged in a section of the united states that includes eastern ohio. The cicadas crawl out of the ground, shed their skins, and climb up into the trees. One cicada makes a loud and distinctive sound, but a whole group of them creates a dull roar. This recording was made on the cemetery ridge trail at clear creek metro park in rockbridge, ohio. I was standing some distance from the cicada sounds, trying to capture the pervasive roar from a distance. Sound recorded using the built-in mic on an iphone 5.

A slinky spring toy stretched out and plucked once from the end, recorded with a zeppelin design labs cortado impedance-matched piezo contact microphone. The resulting recording is a classic spring-based sci-fi "laser sound" with a massive, lengthy, rumbling decay tail. This was recorded at 24 bit 96 khz. In addition to its use as a sound effect, this waveform works well inside a convolution reverb as an offbeat spring reverb impulse response, provided one has the processor power and ram to support a 2 minute 13 second convolution. The cortado's bass response is exceptionally large for a contact mic, so high pass filtering may be desired if used as an impulse response.

Sometimes i regret being so stubborn, only using analog modules in my modular. How easy it should have been creating cool rhythms for the drums with a digitalclock generator or having a nice wave table oscillator etc. . . . So i recently got a new portable recorder (sony pcm-d100). Early one spring morning, i could hear a woodpecker crystal clear from inside my room, with my noise canceling headphones still snug on my head. So naturally, i did a lil ambient recording. Since it was spring, the rich chorus of birdsongs made it, in my book, a freesound-worthy file. I didn't process this very much, except wrapping it around near the end so it could seamlessly loop back, and eqing it to bring out the birds more and soften the mic-noise. A little thing i came up with while doing some research on how j macis writes music. Found out he puts a capo on the second fret and by doing that this japanese pop chord progression i learned by watching a video marty friedman did on japanese style guitar improv was sounding a lot better than without one. Recorded with a shitty usb mic i got for 20$ against an orange crush 20rt, effects used were a blues driver and a tube screamer.

The sex becomes rougher and there is some choking later in the recording. I think this recording was made in 2016 using a zoom h6 and a rode ntg4 mic or possibly the x/y capsule that comes with the recorder. Note on the recording: there seem to be some silences at a couple of points. Something probably happened in the rendering. I probably won't do anything to fix this as it's just a few seconds out of 18 minutes of audio.

My mother's house is the keeper of a trend by sligh grandfather clock named bonnie. Each time i pass by it, i admire the sound. I decided to capture it. It's mostly a clean recording outside of the occasional bird chirp or atmospheric sound. Easy to clean up, edit, and loop. Enjoy!. Recorded using an oktava mk-012-01 through a focusrite scarlett 2i2 audio interface; captured at 96k 32bit float, and bounced down to 48k/24bit in pro tools on windows 11. The mic was placed about two inches away, perpendicular to the face of the clock with the dial window open. The only processing i applied was a fabfilter proq3 48db/oct low cut at 110hz to eliminate of some of the room/ac rumble.

I'm at the corner of 5th and kansas not far from kair 93. 7fm studios. This sound starts with the band from part1 departing and a truck passing. Children talk and yell and a man yells something. Another band approaches. A woman seems to tell someone to say cheese in the distance. The file ends when the band gets a bit too loud for my microphone. Recorded with goldwave with an asus laptop in my backpack and a microsoft lifecam3000 poking out of it facing behind me clothes-pinned to one of the handles of the pack. Unfortunately microsoft no longer supports their lifecam apps so it's not possible to turn down the internal mic gain.

The sound was recorder with a zoom h1n with windshield at a short distance from the crashing of the waves on the beach. The waves are driven by a light, gentle wind. The sound was recorded by holding the microphone in my hand while i dived knee-deep into the water and walk, filming the crashing of the waves (also on my legs). High-frequency sound details (the foam of the sea, the impact of waves on each other, etc. ) are much more audible here. This was produced by tapping on a stethoscope which had an earbud pressed against a shure sm57 mic. Low pass filter applied, as well as compression and a gate. Chorus added. Used a recording cassette deck as a preamp going into an m-audio audiophile usb soundcard. Note: if you're having problems listening to this clip, the cutoff frequency of your speaker set may be too high(solution: new speakers). The signal strength exists almost entirely in the very low frequencies, so you may need a sub-woofer to hear it. Otherwise, try turning your speaker volume all the way up. Doing so may saturate the signal and at least allow you to hear the harmonics of the signal caused by the distortion. I don't recommend it, but you'll at least maybe be able to hear something.

It's a recording of a calcium-sandoz® forte/fuerte 500 mg effervescent tabled falling into a glass of water and dissolving. You can hear the tablet dropping into the water and water droplet hitting water surface back. After w while - co2 buubles start to appear creating noisy sound. The recording has a long natural fadeout and unfortunately some background noise. I leaved "silence" before the sound starts so you can de-noise the recording to your needs (i prefer audacity for denoisig). Recorded inside of my wardrobe for acoustic isolation using zoom h2 on a mic-stand. Recoded as 96khz/24-bit wav. Normalized, truncated and convertet do 16-bit flac using audacity. I've converted this to 16-bit as it still has plenty of noise and 24-bits would not be any better after normalization.

We where located in the news media viewing area called nasa causeway. This as close as anyone can get to the launch. This was the maiden voyage of the orion spacecraft, and one of the very few delta iv heavy launches. In the beginning of recording you hear nasa announcer giving countdown into loud speakers, when you reach around the 1min 50 sec mark the true booster engine sound overtakes the pa system. We are very grateful for the opportunity to share this, most powerful man made machine with 2. 1million pounds of thrust to get millions of pounds into space.

Early spring thunderstorm in north central oklahoma recorded on 05/02/2018 starting at about 9:30 pm cdt. Recorded in the middle of the country by placing a mic outside the man cave window of my house. The storm starts with light rain and some medium distance thunder. At about 4:00 mins the wind starts to pick up and by 5 mins the wind sound drowns out everything else (50-60 mph gusts). By 6:00 mins the wind is fading as the storm front passes. By 9:00 mins it’s just soft rain and occasional thunder. At about 13:00 mins, the thunder starts picking up a bit. At about 17:00 mins it starts raining harder again, with occasional thunder, until the end. A couple of human noises were edited out, and noise reduction was applied.

Rec by eric strausser_fireworks near launchpad_tascam da-p1_neumann rsm 191. This recording was made in the parking lot of a church. On the other side of a line of trees was the launch pad for the towns fire work show. The mic is angled at the sky. Along with the big round booms and flat smacky booms you can also make out the swish as rockets swirl through the air. In between booms, whistles and fizzles you you can also hear the sound of the debris from the cardboard shells falling around me. Sometimes they were on fire, though you can't hear that quality in the audio. It's good for fireworks and is pretty easy to eq for more of a distant quality. I find it's more fun using it to sweeten weapons. The full recording is 29 minutes.

This recording was made at 3pm on wednesday october 5 2022 in a huge, 70-plus acre, abandoned farm field. A field bordered thousands of acres of state-owned forest. The soft peeps of the few remining birds, grubbing around for protein-packed insects is the soundtrack. At 5 minutes into this recording a delightful, friendly exchange between two birds as if they are saying "hey, let's help each other find food before this field is blanketed with snow at cold. ". At 7:05 in this recording a truck slowly drives by, softly crunching gravel and the driver slows down to witness this annual, melancholy autumnal change. I was on the way back from our easterfire, an old german tradition in the night before easter sunday. Similar to the bonfire in august in britain. I heard the nightingale singing, went at home took my sennhiser me80 with the windshield basket and recorder zoom h4. I returned to the place i heard the nightingale and the bird was still singing. On the recording you can hear the ambient of chemical factory of honywell seelze, a street with cars sometimes, a second nightingale far away answering our nightingale near by. And some frogs. At the beginning of the recording there is also some handgrabbing noise, later i fixed the mic on the saddle of my bike and there is no longer the handgrabbing. Enjoy the beautyful singing, cheers.

It's me jamming a bit using my epiphone's explorer (tuned to drop-d). Recorded with a zoom h2 via mic-in and a jack cable. Unprocessed an undedited recording. I tried out some licks and chords. I'm not a good guitarist. Nevetheless, this might be a nice recording if you're making an animation about learning musician, or a game with a band member rehearsing alone in a room, or if you want to just chill to my little jam session. This should be mono, but i calculated the difference between left and right channel and it is not zero. So i uploaded it as a stereo file. Could use some denoising. There is some silence at the beginning so you can do that if you need.

It's recording of a passenger train's on duty. You can hear the train's motors, the wheels rumbling against the rails, the wagon connectors hitting each other, when the train stops also people chatting. Near the end of the recording the room acoustics change, because a woman entered the area between wagons where i was standing with my recorded pointed down. I was standing in a narrow passage, where two wagons were joined, between two closed slide-doors. She have opened those so the overall sound has radically changed and i decided to end the recording. Through the entire recording the unit is moving forward, decelerating, stopping, staring and accelerating again repeatedly as it travels stopping at several stations. The recording was done with a hand-held zoom h2. Rear mics used pointed to the ground. I was in the loudest area in the whole train. I was using "low" gain (h2 has three mic gain levels to choose from: l/m/h). Viewed and converted to flac using audacity, the file hasn't been altered in any other way. Originally recorded as a 96khz/24-bit stereo wav file.

This recording was made in the path of totality of the august 21st 2017 eclipse, in the woods surrounding devil's kitchen lake in southern illinois. It's a stereo extract from a longer, 88 minute b format recording. The purpose of making the recording was to see how the eclipse affected the sounds produced by insects and birds. In this extract, totality occurs exactly 10:00 minutes in; and ends at exactly 12:38. This mirrors the time totality occurred at devil's kitchen lake: from 1:20:27pm to 1:23:05pm central time. This was recorded by holding a small pcm recorder (zoom h1n) very close to an ipod 4th generation. The ipod was turned on and its hard drive tried to start up. You can hear the spin up of the motor and the hard drive head clicking back and forth. The hard drive fails to power up completely and eventually shuts down again. A 350 hz high pass filter was applied, in addition to audacity noise reduction, to get this clean motor noise from the original recording. The stereo file was then mixed to mono because the mic was slightly off center from the ipod, and the stereo provides no benefit. The hard drive in this ipod is a 1. 8" 40 gb toshiba hard drive, the ipod model is a1059. The microphone was held just 3 cm (1. 2 in) from the ipod. Recording settings were stereo 44. 1 khz at 16 bit (wav format). The file is the same except it's mono.

This can be useful as a sound effect for freezing or burning or deep-frying or even rain (when slowed down). Thanks to extremely wide frequency range the recording can be cleanly slowed down up to 25% speed. There's clean frequency content up to 80 khz in the recording. In a few places the mic gain was too much and a pop is clipped, but could still be useful for sound of braking or snapping something (bone?). No denoising was applied - perform your own if needed, though the sounds are mostly free of background hum (a bit of pc noise can be heard in the first minute before i turned down the gain).

This was recorded during a harsh storm here i stockholm. Harsh winds blowing thru a small forest. Details such as leaves rustling and hard stormy winds are key components in this recording. It sounds like a storm is approaching what do you think?. I honestly don't remember what i did in post. . . I think i removed alot of bass/rumble, added an expander to remove some unwanted noise to help the winds and leaves to stand out. I probably used rx to clean up some unwanted noises. Equipment:zoom h5 + sony ecm 6080s condenser mic. This was a test to see how the stereo configuration on the ecm 6080s sounded like. I really like it but i would prefer an ab configuration with 2 dpa 2011 or even 2 4060. . . I like the sound it was able to capture even if it may be a little to "centered". I probably will try to use it for my future hiking trips to capture rivers and general ambiances, if i get something special i will upload them here. Hope you like it.

This recording is for people who hate the highlighted high frequencies. An old sabian aax small recorded with a røde m5 mic. I the created two copies of the original recording:1. On the first file i applied low pass at 2 khz and hard compression at -24 db without makeup gain. 2. On the second file i applied high pass at 2 khz and hard compression at -24 db without makeup gain. Then i lowered -2 db all the spectrum except for the band from 3. 5 khz to 9. 1 khz and i applied hard compression at -24 db without makeup gain. I merged the two files. The envelope was very flat due to the compression and thus i reshaped it on wavelab (process > level envelope. . . Or press the "v" keyboard button; draw a natural fade out in steps [non-linear]). The result is a warm crash for people who don't want them loud.

Trying to start a 1983 volvo 245 after a stop at a gas station. First we hear the seatbelt warning signal after the driver turns the ignition on. The first start attempt fails. The two following attempts fail because the starter fails to engage with the flywheel, creating a very loud and unpleasant sound. There is some reverberation from the metal roof of the gas station. At 00:24, the driver remarks "he's doing it again!". The fourth attempt succeeds in starting the engine after a rather long cranking. We then drive off and we also hear some squeaking from the steering wheel. Throughout the recording we hear breathing noises from the driver (80 year old man, smoker). The recording was made in the front passanger seat with the window open, that's why there a very noticable difference between the left and right channel. Non-functional tube radio warming up, making a loud 60hz hum with lots of harmonics. As a bonus it clicks off at the end. Zenith consoltone. Only because the faq says so: electro voice n/d 257a through impedance transformer into crappy gigabyte motherboard realtek high definition audio. 16bits, processed at 32bits. Audacity sound editor and/or driver wouldn't record mic level so it was very noisy after amplification. Filtered with a (mathematically equivalent) fft constructed whopping 64k length zero phase filter (blackman window) with 5 wavelength width bandpass at each harmonic from 60hz to 5,520hz. For some reason a fraction of some of the harmonics didn't get through so did another pass on the residual noise and mixed that in. Near the beginning there was a sort of brief duplicate signal that descended in pitch so it didn't make it through the filter. I added that bit in. Attenuated frequencies above 3. 6khz because they are pretty much noise, but removing them didn't sound right. Cleaned up the beginning a bit in various ways, cut it down to 15 sec and carefully appended the unfiltered "click" onto the end, which i denoised 12db with audacity's noise reduction.
