A small water stream i recorded after dawn, when the birds are not singing any longer and most of the people went home from a walk in the forest. Recorded with two rode nt5 and sound devices mixpre3.

This is a perfect 1/10 second long 1khz tone like it is also used in film countdowns ;) u can also use it for a censor-tone: just copy&paste it again and again and ull get a longer 1khz tone without any jumps or hoverings.

Stretched sound, good for video games. I made the original sample in fruity loops using the reverse effect on a basic software sample sound. After that i used paul stretcher effect in audacity to stretch everything up and give it a longer feel. Also added little bit of dellay and reverb after stretching it.

A fire engine approaching, then slowly passing, then disappearing into the distance. This was in gallery place in washington, dc, during rush hour, so traffic was slow; thus, a longer than usual siren.

This is a long recording taken in the backyard of my neighborhood on july 4, 2021. There are lots of distant (and a few closer) booms and explosion sounds. Kind of sounds like a war going on! in this longer recording a plane also flies overhead, and someone drives down the street.

I took this recording from my room in a beautiful casa on the main square in santa clara. It was warm and not windy so i could keep the windows open during the storm, and eavesdrop on this little party, which seemed to warm up as the storm did. This is an edited version of a longer clip i have also uploaded to freesound.

A first contribution to the community,recorded on a hand held olympus vn810and edited in sound forge. Almost five minutes of a gentle rain as it sounded out my back door at midnight this new memorial day. I faded in and out, with the out being a bit longer. Enjoy!.

Shed door opens, then closed. First with a metallic click to unlock and followed by a long opening creaking door. Once opened there is a plastic rustle and the door closes with an even longer spooky creaking noise. Followed by a clunk when shut and a metallic click to lock the shed door. Silence back and front.

The beautiful, simple call of the field cricket is one of my favorite insect sounds. In late summer though the huge choruses of katydids and cicadas often drown out the simple beauty of this love song. Later, as the season progresses into fall and the temps dip to where the cicadas and katydids no longer sing, these simple, beautiful field cricket calls still last up to the time that the days just can't stay warm any longer. I like to see how late into the season i can hear these guys---something just hauntingly mesmerizing hearing this sound and no other on a mild autumn day, after a cold night. . I was fortunate enough to capture this recording on september 4th 2013 in my backyard. Recording made around 4:30 in the morning with my h4n recorder using its internal built-in microphones.

A metallic pad with lfo weaving in and out in amplitude/filter. Includes some lfo modulation, so some peaks are longer than troughs and vise versa. Used in an experimental scene to symbolize birth. Recorded with a roland groovebox self-sample utility straight to wav, which is pretty good sounding. Though i've found this method results in reduced high frequencies.

I made this using an alto recorder and then adding reverb to it. I have made it longer or shorter by just adding or taking away pieces in the middle. It was made to convey a sense of foreboding. I hope you like it. I am grateful for all the sounds i have found and used in freesound - feels good to finally be able to give back and contribute!.

Springtime thunderstorm recorded using a shotgun mic pointing out of a window. Mono recording but with a bit of stereo artificial reverb added. This longer recording features some distant sounds heard within a housing estate - distant chatter, cars, children. Recorded during the covid-19 lockdown.

I saw someone in the comments section of another sound like this asking for a longer version, i hope this is long enough, it should be more than enough. If you're going to play this through speakers, a fair bit of warning, turn the speakers down first, it's extremely bass heavy!.

The alarm call of one of our chickens after she spotted a cat in our garden. This sound is taken from my other recording of the same event. The original (longer) version is also available. These are 8 lobsters sold at louisbourg in a cool-box awaiting their demise, saturday, 16 june 2007. Some of them were making this noise; others were silent, or just tapping their palps against the box or the other lobsters periodically. Part of a longer recording; i think i edited out the occasional bang where a lobster hit the mic, but my apologies if i didn't get them all.

Recorded using a 1974 mgb sports car. Mic placed on passenger floorboard. Sound of start, idle, accelerating and going through gears, steady state (can be edited and looped for longer scenes) and coast down and shut off. Very throaty sound recorded in-cabin which would be period correct for british cars of that era and useful for in-car scenes behind dialog.

Recorded in a public event, outdoors, with a very faint music background, medium, spanish speaking (uruguay/argentina) crowd both male and female. I wish i could provide a longer version but people kept standing and yelling in front of the microphone. Format:wav 48khz 24bit stereo. Gear:zoom f8 with h6 xy capsules.

This is recorded at droescher's mill in cranford nj. The local dam used to power a waterwheel. The wheel is no longer in operation but it's still a nice relaxing spot. A little waterfall is in the foreground, a big waterfall (the dam) is in the background, and the sounds of traffic are audible faintly. It can be played as a loop. ---zoom xyh-5 > zoom f1 field recorder.

I was playing around trying to create a different sound when i accidentally created this sound which reminded me of a rocket flying by. I thought it might be useful and uploaded it. I kept it a bit longer so you can edit it into a loop or fade it out to make it seem the rocket flies away =). Made with fl studio with the free firebird vst plugin.

Why does everything i upload sound like people screaming and/or chainsaws!?. Sound source is a contact mic producing feedback into various fx. The main fx used for the clip are a sirkut electronics gnarler, boss metal zone, dod grunge, and finally, a danelectro french fries auto wah. Recorded direct-to-sound card as usual. This is a sample taken from a longer piece.

This morning i woke up to the sound of a city crew jackhammering concrete just outside my window. I grabbed my h2 and recorded for a while. This file is an edit of the full recording. It contains two bursts of jackhammering, one fairly short and one longer. The background noise is the sound of the air compressor. Toward the end the compressor is turned off and the last of the pressure is released by the jackhammer as it sort of "putters out". This last bit is a bit unique.
