A conversation that happened in the kitchen. Warm for the time of year, a man steps in to play basketball on a corner paved lot. Just one basket and no refs, the two free-throws he is offered are almost unheard-of. Maybe some of them didn't like his looks. Likely too they know what he does for a living. Likeliest of all he was playing well, but for sure the woody that won't quit had come to call, and they probably liked that least of all. So he steps up to the foul line and the first shot zips the net. So does the second one, but even before it gets there, someone jumps in behind him, grabs hard and and zips his pants all the way down. They aren't around his ankles, though. Close one, he's standing on them. Worse, a local crowd has gathered. Only the stunned aren't laughing or pointing or cheering. You put your pants back on and go home, what else can you do? game over.

Recorded myself cutting up, tearing and squishing a watermelon, resulting sounds processed only with a slight low-cut and normalization. Recording quality was not as great as i would have hoped although there should still be something useful here, i learnt 2 valuable lessons though:. 1. Watermelon juice and microphones are best kept separated. 2. Sounds travels quite well through kitchen worktops so don't put the mic flat on it!.

Braun model 3105 coffee maker. Multiple takes of picking up and replacing the glass carafe on the hotplate. The left channel is a sennheiser mkh-416 and the right channel is an akg c414 b-uls, both into a john hardy m-1 preamp into pro tools. Each mic has a slightly different recording position. The akg has more of a "room" perspective whereas the sennheiser gives a close up, detailed perspective.

I like the first cup of coffee from a good coffee maker. Inevitably though, it gets left on, and then to me it is undrinkable. Overcooked. Terrible. The waste is unacceptable to me. So, we can agree on that, and my partner was about to make a cup for himself. I got it all, jar lids, spooning, stirring with a spoon in a ceramic cup, adding sugar and milk. The last soft thud is the fridge door closing.

I asked him to load the dishwasher, and he actually did, except that he washed the dishes by hand and used the dishwasher for a drying rack. I didn't ask him to record it for me, so maybe he's trying to change the subject. Bully for him. Ambient recording of a yakiniku restaurant in tokyo. I used a stereo pair of microphones mounted on the table next to the grill at 120 degree angles. There is a fair amount of noise from the grill itself, but if the volume is reduced for use as a background noise, the grill sounds becomes negligible. You can hear the background music, the waiters and kitchen staff and some diners/utensils. Near the end an order is placed in japanese.

This was recorded in my kitchen next to a railway, late at night when there was maintenance going on on the line. A heavy unit called a tamper went past, tamping down the ballast (stones) that go under the tracks. Lots of sub-bass as the whole building gets vibrated and at -04:29 a balanced teapot lid puts itself onto the teapot. Zoom h4n, 24/48 wav exported to flac in audacity.

I needed a sound effect for an audio project, specifically the sound of someone moving around in a bathtub full of water and ice. Being too lazy to go out and get a carpload of ice cubes, i raided the ice-maker in the refrigerator and built up a stockpile, then dumped them all into the metal kitchen sink, added some water and a few empty ice cube trays for flavor, and stirred them about using a glass mixing bowl and a wooden spoon.

A full set of assorted sounds i recorded personally of my coffee brewing setup a while back. I get great use out of these, as there is a nice range here, clicks, gears, liquid pouring, tapping on small cups, the list goes on. Feel free to use however you want without credit. This is a recording i made for one of my songs. I found it nice to run the group's output through the ohmforce ohmicide and have some fun with the separate bands. The original loop consists of me, drumming on my metal kitchen-sink with drum-brushes. The snary accents are the brushes on the back of my acoustic guitar. All recorded with a neumann u87 and mangled through a ua solo610 with tube-gain cranked up. The bassdrumsound is also an handplayed sound from my nord lead. All recorded in 48/16.

Faucet in a metal sink turned on and off. Hands are run through the water to simulate hand washing. Recorded in a tokyo apartment with a coincidental mic pair placed at a 90 degree angles it's basically a raw recording, but i ran an ssl hpf with the cutoff set at about 28 hz to take out the rumble of the train passing by. . . Since the apartment was near the station, the train sound was unavoidable. But if this is used in a larger mix, it probably won't be noticeable.

Clean recording of water being poured into a metal pot, meant to emulate the sound of water being poured into a kettle/teapot. Would work for pouring any liquid into almost any metal container (metal containers give off a subtle "twang" that isn't generally produced when pouring into other material containers such as glass, ceramic, plastic, wood, etc). Third in a series of 3 consecutive recordings of the sound of summer birdsong in a suburban english setting. This one prominently features the sound of water flushing through an outside kitchen drain into an alleyway. Common suburban evening birdsong can be heard clearly throughout with distant traffic noise in the background. Recorded on a summer evening in june 2016 in southern england using a rode nt-4 microphone in a rycote lyre shock mount, marantz pmd661 and edited using adobe audition.

This is a mix of everything so far; not exactly, but whether there are lots of cartoon sounds on the internet, they kinda look old with the “flashy” quality. The sound of the bottom of a ceramic mug, dragged over the metal grating of a coffee machine. It sounds like a sword drawn from a scabbard. Recorded using a zoom h6 in the kitchen. Applied a filter to remove unwanted low and very high frequencies. Also corrected the volume level to adjust all four recordings to the exact same level. There are some minor distracting noises - i assume from my shirt while moving the mug over the surface. Also a fan is very faintly audible in the background.
