Multiple gunshots recorded at an indoor gun range. Many of the shots are from an ak47, including single shots and full auto. There is some background noise, but there are some good clear shots in there that can be easily cut out and used. Unfortunately the original recording is only mp3 and the recorder had auto-gain set so some shots are recorded louder than others, but there are still some usable shots in there.

I caught a few things like fire truck sirens, and some sort of ear ringing sound. Not sure where that came from but it happened. I went for a more realistic gun sound without the hollywood subbass and a lot cleaner than my previous work. Made in ableton live, i just layered an ak47, an m16, an enfield rifle and an acoustic kick drum together with eq and used parallel compression to gel them together. Transient designers were used on the layers to make them snap harder. A bolt slide forward sample and a bolt slide back sample were added to give some mechanical feels to the gunshot. Enjoy.

To create this sound i recorded a disposable lighter in my bedroom. To record, i used my aston spirit microphone on cardioid polar pattern and my focusrite scarlett 18i20 second generation (2nd gen) interface running pro tools from my mac at 48khz, 24 bit. I also used a reflection filter to lower rt60 so this sound has minimal reverb to tape. The cable i used was made of canford hst cable and has neutrik xlr connectors.

24/48 mono recording of the sound of a fnx. 45 acp being shot slowly in a gun range 9 times. During the recording there are a couple shell casing that can be heard hitting the floor. There is a long break after the final shot before the target is recalled on the automatic rail system. There is a slightly echo-y natural reverberation to the gun range. Other than that the recording is very quiet in-between shots and each shot sound was allowed to dissipate before another round was fired.

This is an updated (improved is debatable) version of my previous electric contact stun gun firing sound, except longer and without peaking. Oh and higher sampling rate so you can hear all the higher frequencies better when you pitch it down. You'll immediately notice it sounds like the boring buzz of a bee. Oh well, not like you'll get a lightning storm. That's about it. Don't forget to have fun. Copy pasta---also commonly and incorrectly referred to as a "taser" which is on the same level as calling a magazine a "clip". See google for more info. I can't help that it sounds like a bee. Mathematically at 10 rps (600 rpm) you could use this as a sit in for a distant fired ak-47 rifle ideal for video games, war movies, mods, etc. Apply a resonant filter and some reverb for appropriate outdoor acoustics. And nobody will know your distant machine gun sound was a civilian stun gun except for us semi colon right parenthesis. Or you could also apply ringmod at ~9000 hz to simulate ear ringing for those ptsd scenes. Or some gau-8 avenger. Trimming + looping + pitch: if you can loop this properly in a daw you could even create a saw style bass for electronic dance music.

Just some recording of a dried, brittle chili pepper with little seeds inside - up way way close to the mic (a zoom h2n). Some suggested sound design use cases: run this through granular fx for a nice drone texture. Use as an impulse response for a convolution reverb (then run tones through the convolution). Use as a trigger in vcv rack, allowing it's peaks to fire off samples or synth pulses. Or just use it plain within your next experimental acousmatic piece hit single.

Made in ableton live. A slow firing heavy weapon. 19 layers were used to create this one. Eq was used to select different frequencies from various weapon samples and compressed together for the inital transient or pop. Time based fade in/out layering was used for the sustain and reverb tails so they fit nicely together. The single shot that was layered together was then printed as a new audio sample. I created a loop and pitched every shot by a few cents or 1 semitone to add variation. Each sample was then manually shifted on the timeline forward or backward by milliseconds to give a more realistic feel in timing rather than sound robotic. Each shot was sidechained to duck down in volume when a new shot triggers for more clarity. Mechanical trigger and bolt movement samples were add in before/after the initial transient of the shot. Shell hit floor samples were used for added detail. I felt the shots lacked a good sub bass so an eq was used to filter out the sub and replaced with a rapidly decaying 808 kick drums sub. Once the loop was formed, all shots were then grouped together and processed with a transient designer into a clipper, a compressor, a maximizer, ott multiband, gluing reverb, stereo spread and then into a final limiter. An old project (2017, 4 years ago) i never uploaded anywhere before. I hope that others will take inspiration from this. This is practically a sequel to "muffled warfare" that i never released, and have titled it so. Inspired by this war of mine. A collection of sounds muffled and mixed together to create a warfare soundscape heard from within a church. A lone individual sifts through the scraps of war, and checks the worldwide news from his radio. The war marches on around them, however, and he must move on.
