I was surprised that this came out so well, an awesome water-down-the-drain sound in my very own kitchen sink. A plastic dishpan was tipped and held there until the water exited. Quite a roar, unmodified except that it is contained in the dish washing file.

This collection of kitchen sound effects was captured on a tascam dr-07. I carried the recorder around the kitchen opening and closing drawers, the refrigerator, and clattering/clanking plates and silverware. I even did a water pour into a drinking glass. 15 year old dog struggling to breathe. Dog walks through the house making loud gasping and ear-splitting clacking sounds (claws on fake wood flooring) in a house with excruciating acoustics. The bell-like sound is her clumsily banging into a water dish. I love this dog but i've been listening to this every day for 1. 5 years. It's nerve wracking and incredibly annoying to listen to, imo.

The peaceful natural recording was made in early march of 2012 in woods bordering a lake. Even though it was late-winter/early spring and was cold -- about 38 degrees -- it was not totally still. Various kitchen noises. I recorded this while making foley for a film recently. It's intentionally roomy and captured from medium distance which was the position of the listener. There's no significant background roomtone (no traffic, fridge hum or voices), just the exagerated cutlery movements, glasses and cups clingings, water sink, cabinets, fridge door and stuff. My first upload to freesound is a thunderstorm recorded in gateshead, uk, next to our open bathroom window. Some lovely thunderclaps and rain. Recorded on a zoom h5. There are also some household sounds swimming around in the background, doors closing, dishes clinking etc; i think you can hear the radio or something very faintly towards the end -- but there's plenty of clean usable thunder and rain in there.
