Some wind was blowing through some wooden blinds in my house and making this obnoxious howling sound, so i captured some of it :p. Recorded with a rode nt1.

Dawn chorus recorded just before sunrise on a freezing cold april morning in the hampshire countryside, far away from any main roads. The only human noise is a couple of distant aircraft. Sd mixpre3 and rode svmx. 40hz low cut.

This sound is created with two sounds that i recorded at the university. First, the sound of the huge door to out, then the lighter (which helps to feel the cold around) and the sound of someone smoking a cigarette. First of all, i cut the two fragment,from two different track, that i wanted for my mix. After, i first worked on the door sound. After i reduced noises, because all seemed better after noises reduced ! i made the same thing for the other sound, the lighter and smoker one. Then i ad the last one at the end of the first one, mix a little bit to make the two sounds seemed natural together. After, i normalized the track. At the end, i saved and export my track !.

This sample is part of the icefield-library. I used a pair of soundman okm2 mics as contact microphones which i fixed to the surface of a frozen lake, then recorded the sounds made by throwing or skimming several stones and pebbles across the ice. Wonderful effects can also be achieved by filtering or timestretching the files.

Blowing your nose: a very subtle sound but one that stays true to the common flue. You can hear the tissue crinkling when used, the slight sniffles and also the air escaping the man’s nose. Background distant traffic noise and helicopter appears about halfway through the recording then some people's voices near the end. The recording has been edited to remove long stretches of silence, and has had some light noise reduction applied. Skates on ice: here is a very specific sound effect. The metallic slash through ice when it is being skated on. There are multiple variations of this in this track due to the amount of contact the blade of the skate has to the ice and also the force being put into the movement. It is a sharp and cold sound.
