Here in the midwest one sure sign that winter "has left the building" is when the neo-tropical migrants arrive in the forests to gorge themselves on the multitude of insects, and to raise a family. One of my favorite bird-songs is this "zipper" sounding call of the northern parula. Perhaps you have heard this very unique call while out in the woods. I guess you could call it punchy. I used a basic snare with a little white noise, a high pitched punchy tom, and a little white noise. I eq'd the snare and tom to 200hz at around the 6db range.

To create this sound, i created a sinusoid of 500 hz and an amplitude of 0. 8. I then multiplied the speed of 0. 750. To get this final sound is to duplicate the sinusoid several times.
